Hunter was a fantastic DJ during our October wedding and also through the entire wedding prep process! He put so much care and thought into helping us walk through our ceremony and...
reception music choices and was patient when we had trouble choosing a few specific songs. His process is clear and well-communicated and I appreciated how clearly everything was laid out.
We had a mixture of live and recorded music and Hunter made the transitions between them feel completely smooth so guests didn't have any long waiting periods with no music.
We also used the photo booth in our package and the guests absolutely loved it! The pictures hold some of my favorite memories of guests having so much fun including making new friends! We also had so much fun on the dance floor. I recommend Hunter and his team very highly, they were absolutely joys to work with.
As a wedding planner on Oahu, I have had the opportunity to work alongside many DJs over the years. When it came time to choose the entertainment team for my own wedding, there was...
no question in my mind Hunter and the team at Aloha Event DJ were our first choice.
From the moment the celebration began, Hunter delivered an exceptional experience. His professionalism, energy, and ability to read the crowd kept our dance floor packed all night long. As both a bride and an event professional, I can confidently say that his MC skills are second to none. Every announcement was polished, every transition was seamless, and the flow of the evening felt effortless.
The production quality was equally impressive. The uplighting and dance floor lighting equipment transformed our venue, the cold sparks added the perfect touch of excitement, and the sound quality was flawless from start to finish. His equipment is truly top of the line, and it shows in every detail.
What impressed me most was Hunter's flexibility and dedication. Like many couples, I had a few last minute song changes leading up to the wedding, and he handled every request with ease and professionalism, ensuring everything was exactly as we envisioned, and it was!
Beyond my personal experience as a bride, I have also witnessed Hunter's commitment firsthand in challenging circumstances. Earlier this year, we worked together during a Kona Low storm that left almost all of Oahu without power. While many would have seen it as an impossible situation, Hunter arrived prepared making sure we secured generators, uplighting, and a can do attitude. Despite the conditions, he kept the energy high and the dance floor full, helping us pull off what felt like a MIRACLE WEDDING for an incredible couple! His ability to remain calm, adaptable, and solutions focused under pressure is a testament to the level of service he provides.
Hunter is not just a talented DJ, he is a true professional, a trusted Vendor, and someone who genuinely cares about creating unforgettable experiences for his clients. Whether you're a couple planning your wedding or an industry professional looking for a reliable entertainment Vendor, I cannot recommend Aloha Event DJ highly enough!!!
We had the absolute pleasure of having Hunter at our wedding in Ko Olina, HI on July 13, 2025 — and he was phenomenal! From start to finish, Hunter was composed, professional, and ...
totally in sync with the vibe we were going for. The music throughout the night was perfect — from cocktail hour to dancing, he kept the energy flowing and the dance floor full.
But the true highlight? His photo booth! It was a massive hit with all our guests and created so many fun, unforgettable memories. We’re still laughing at some of the pictures!
Thank you, Hunter, for being such a crucial part of our special day. You exceeded every expectation and we couldn’t be happier. Highly, highly recommend!
Hunter and the team were an automatic 10/10! We had so much fun with all the music, the playlists and songs for our little "events" were perfectly timed and definitely enhanced our...
s (and the guests) experience! Very professional and the photo booth was a definite must :) Highly recommend using Hunter and the Aloha Event DJ team for any future weddings, parties, or any event where you want to use those dancing shoes! <3
Hunter was an incredible DJ for our Hawaii wedding. He was extremely patient as we walked through our music preferences and timeline. In fact, he had all the details before our pla...
nner even walked through it with us, and he helped us think through key considerations in detail. And he really delivered day-of. Mics were perfect for ceremony and speeches. The music was right on queue (including one of the more difficult drop timings that we really wanted to start the night). And he got people adequately hyped up at the right spots while having just the right amount of stoke at the other times. And he played two high energy songs at the end before the closer--perfection.
The photobooth was also well beyond expectations. The attendant was so friendly and helpful and the pictures were high-quality -- with great lighting, especially given we were outdoors at night. The interface was also seamless: instant printed photos and access online immediately for social media posts, with the full set of photos delivered the next day. I would not hesitate to get your photobooth with Hunter as part of the package.
Finally, we didn't notice the uplights on the palm trees during the event. But in pictures, they were fabulous. Really made the venue look much more magical at night and absolutely necessary.
It's hard to imagine how our DJ selection could have been any better than Aloha Event DJ. We were very happy that we went with Hunter and would recommend him to anyone else looking for the best wedding DJ in Hawaii.
We had an incredible time working with Hunter from Aloha Event DJ for our wedding on Oahu in June. He was responsive to all of our questions, meeting with us via Zoom multiple time...
s in the planning process, and providing helpful feedback on the timeline for the reception.
On the night itself, Hunter was amazing. His playlist for cocktail hour perfectly captured the vibe that we wanted, and a number of our guests complimented the reception playlist. Our families were on the dance floor the entire night! We also had the photo booth through Aloha Event DJ, which our guests loved.
Could not have picked a better DJ! The Photo Booth was a hit! Hunter got everyone on the dance floor and was very communicative and professional the entire process. We planned our ...
wedding from South Carolina and he always checked in with us! He made our wedding beyond a dream! Would highly recommend him and his team for all your music needs he helped tremendously!
Mahalo!
My wife and I used Aloha Event DJ for our wedding on Oahu very recently- we cannot thank Hunter and his crew enough for the fantastic experience they provided, from the preparation...
through to the event itself. We had dozens of our guests compliment us on the music and MC services that Aloha Event DJ provided, and we would highly, highly recommend anyone looking for a DJ and/or event MC to strongly consider Hunter/Aloha Event DJ.
Hunter made the preparation, song choices, and event setup extremely easy and stress free. We received a questionnaire and had multiple meetings through zoom with Hunter to make sure everything was set up how we wanted. Hunter had great suggestions and is clearly a very experienced and skilled DJ/MC.
Prices and optional extras like a projector were very reasonably priced for the industry on Oahu, no complaints there at all.
Would give 10 stars if I could!
We had our wedding in Hawaii, and it rained on and off throughout the day — not ideal, but DJ Hunter handled everything like a total pro.
From the very beginning, he was incredibl...
y organized. Our pre-wedding meeting went smoothly, and he came prepared with tons of great song suggestions that really helped us shape the mood we wanted. On the day of the wedding, he didn’t just DJ — he also MC’d and guided the flow of the evening seamlessly.
He stayed calm through the rain delays, kept the energy going from start to finish, and made sure everything felt smooth and fun. So many of our guests told us how much they enjoyed the music and how great the overall vibe was.
If you’re looking for someone who’s professional, flexible, and knows how to run the show — Hunter is exactly who you want

wedding planning how to pick music and Hunter made it an absolute breeze. He was personable, helpful, and made the entire process enjoyable. We opted to upgrade off the base package and get the up lights, this added an additional wow factor to our wedding dance floor! His MC skills helped move the wedding along in the reception and we are grateful for him. We will be recommending him to all friends and family that need a DJ for any Hawaii events.

t experience. We reached out and he was super responsive and answered all our questions thoroughly. We booked him for our wedding and could not have been happier. Hunter completely exceeded our expectations. He was respectful of our wishes/vision throughout the whole process. He was a fantastic MC throughout the whole event and the music was exactly what we wanted. Even more, we are a couple that loves a huge variety of music and Hunter was able to take the songs and genres we chose and pick where they would be most fitting throughout the reception. He blended everything so well. We got feedback from all our guests that our DJ was “amazing” and comments like “the dinner music was really good”. Everyone had a blast dancing. We also had a few last minute changes and Hunter was understanding and flexible. My husband and I were very impressed. Thank you so much Hunter, you really helped make our wedding better than we could have dreamed of.

Their Photo Booth service was a huge hit at our reception! His wife was incredibly sweet and helpful, making sure everything ran seamlessly. They provided a beautiful backdrop, fun props, and made sure our guests had a blast. We were also impressed by how quickly they sent us the digital copies of all the pictures.

ference), Hunter really simplified the planning/coordination process for us, which definitely helped ease some of our wedding planning stress. We really only needed to talk to Hunter one time before the actual wedding, as he was able to visualize/execute exactly what we wanted for our wedding day. Following the wedding, many of our guests commented on how smooth the wedding went, to include the perfect volume of music (not too loud - not too quiet), friendliness/receptiveness of Hunter (while taking music requests) and clear communication during announcements.
Overall, I believe we made the perfect choice with Hunter and Aloha Event DJ. His kindness and professionalism throughout the entirety of the wedding process was exceptional. 100% recommend for any type of event!

Once we started working with our day-of coordinator, she was thrilled to learn we had hired Hunter, mentioning that she loves working with him, which reassured us that we made the right choice!
Fast forward to our wedding day, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with how everything went! My husband and I have quite different music tastes, but Hunter blended our selections seamlessly throughout the day. Over the months leading up to the wedding, Hunter would respond to our emails right away and was very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We really appreciate that he allowed us to add in some final additional requests (cold sparks, newly added songs) to our package super last minute, and appreciated how patient he was after my husband and I took forever confirming all of our music lol (sorry, Hunter, thank you so much again!)
On the day of the wedding, he remained super professional and friendly! The waiting time before the ceremony lasted longer than planned and he managed to make the music/emceeing sound as if no delays happened at all. He did an awesome job and made every part of the wedding go smoothly, from the processional all the way to the end! My husband and all of our friends had a really fun time dancing all the way to the end of the night and we got compliments on how they were able to dance to all the songs that played! He was also really good at reading the crowd and managed to get some of the older folks to get up and dance to a ton of fun songs they loved, too!
Hunter always had a smile on his face and was also super calm and composed. He handled everything so well as he worked with our other vendors (coordinator, officiant, photographer/videographer) to make sure everything ran smoothly, which helped us remain calm as well and not worry about anything. We are so thankful to have had him as our DJ/emcee and wouldn't have had it any other way! The services he provided were outstanding. Thank you so much again, Hunter and team!

It was so nice to be able to customize our playlists for our evening. Hunter took all of our feedback and requests and put together a set of amazing playlists that kept our guests entertained throughout the night. We also used Hunter's photobooth, which was also a big hit with our guests! It was awesome to customize our photobooth prints a little, and we will definitely be treasuring all of the photo prints for years to come.
