Joyce is an actual wedding dress goddess. I cannot thank her enough for fixing my dress the week before my wedding at a reasonable price. She does AMAZING work!

Good work does not come cheap and Joyce is the best ! She made sure my dress was flawless for my big day. I enjoyed her honesty and sense of humor. I wore my heels all night just for her since we worked so hard to get the length just right!

Joyce was wonderful! She knows what she's doing! Joyce takes wedding gowns very seriously. She did a gorgeous job on my dress. I actually had a guest come up to me at the reception and ask if my dress was painted on, because it fit me so well. I danced my heart out at the reception, and didn't once have to think about my dress falling, slipping, etc (and this is coming from someone who is always pulling up those slipping bra straps!). Thanks Joyce!!

It is not an understatement to say that Joyce made my wedding day because of her dedication and talent as a seamstress. I was, relatively speaking, a very laid-back bride, except when it came to my choice of dress/outfits for our wedding weekend. Joyce altered my wedding dress to perfection in three fittings, taking into account both the look of the dress overall as well as ensuring the plunging neckline would look perfect as I moved around throughout our wedding day. Additionally, Joyce altered the jumpsuit I wore for the second half of our reception, which was truly a miracle. I was determined to wear it despite being 1-2 sizes too big. Joyce worked her magic and the jumpsuit looked amazing! I received so many compliments on both garments from guests. I really appreciated Joyce's transparency, feedback and guidance throughout the alterations process and her attention to detail is apparent as she works. She is a joy to work with and a true artist.

Pros she was knowledgeable, available and did a great job on my long train and bustle. Cons; she messed up the top of my dress which is visibly noticeable in all my pictures. I had a lot of beading and detail on the bodice of my dress, she said it would be difficult and expensive. She attempted a short cut which caused the fabric to bunch up on both sides, and somehow there’s a 3’ dent on the side of my bust, I cringe at my pics when I see it. I asked her to fix the day before pickup, she said she would but wrapped it up when I came to get it I assumed it was done. Her attitude is something to be desired. I tolerated it because of her 20 yrs of experience but it’s not worth it to be scared of your seamstress.

Joyce now works out of her home, but is still doing alterations. I was so blessed to have found her! I was nervous having my dress altered because it had a lace overlay, but she calmed my nerves and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. She recommends multiple fittings to make sure everything is perfect which I greatly appreciated. She was transparent and honest which is hard to find anymore. She's an expert and therefore has a lot of opinions and recommendations which I welcomed. She even convinced me to ditch the heels and stick to a cute pair of tennis shoes which was one of the best decisions I made. My dress turned out beautiful and she had it finished in plenty of time to allow for any additional adjustments. I would highly recommend!

Joyce is a truly talented seamstress! She is devoted to her craft and will not let you leave with your dress looking and feeling anything less than perfection. From all her years of experience in the wedding dress business, Joyce is honest and helpful with foreseeing possible problems. She took on a very challenging alteration with the dress I chose and I couldn’t have trusted it with anyone else!

Going with Joyce for my alterations was definitely one of the best decisions I made for my wedding! She is incredibly knowledgeable and knew exactly how to make me look my best on my wedding day. She walked me through each step so that I could understand what she was doing and the reason behind it. Her prices are also very fair. On top of that, she had me practice walking, sitting/standing, and even dancing in my dress!! Working with her definitely made me feel more confident and comfortable on my wedding day. Furthermore, she is just a wonderful person to spend time with. We had four appointments together, and she made each of them a joy. I couldn’t recommend her more!!

Joyce is absolutely wonderful! I would recommend her to anyone that is looking for dress alterations. She works out of her home (no longer on Lane Ave) and makes you feel so comfortable and at ease. She is smart and so talented. My dress required really difficult alterations, but that just made Joyce more excited to work on it. She did an incredible job and I feel like I gained a friend after working with her. She is sassy and opinionated, but in the best way and really knows what she is doing. She was so easy to talk to and we laughed throughout every appointment. She made the whole process fun and easy and my dress was amazingly beautiful when she was done. She is the best!!

Joyce was the easiest vendor I worked with while planning my wedding. I called her number and she answered (she says she rarely answers because she is with clients, but that day she picked up) and am I glad she did. We had a wonderful conversation about what I needed and what she could do for me. I needed my dress and MOH dress hemmed. We set an appointment and I immediately felt at ease. She was so funny and honest and I knew she was the right seamstress to do the job. Both dresses required hemming and minimal alterations. At my last appointment we chatted briefly and she even put everything into perspective about my pre-wedding jitters. I really think Joyce is a rare gem.

Joyce was one of the best parts of my wedding planning experience. She was very invested in making sure my dress fit perfectly, and was very supportive when my mom attended an appointment and expressed her dislike of my dress choice. She was able to diffuse the situation, and I really appreciated that. The day of, my dress fit so well I didn't want to take it off at the end of the night. I've never felt so beautiful! Joyce did an amazing job on both my wedding dress and my mother's dress. She made she that I was able to walk, sit and dance in my dress. My dress fit like a glove. It was strapless and I loved it, but I was afraid having alot of girls would make it slowly fall down. My dress didn't go anywhere. One thing you need to know is that Joyce is very opinionated, which is both a good thing and a bad thing. Know going in that whatever you want or feel you need stick up for. Also, any family that you bring needs to be willing to put in positive input. We were having difficulty with my hem and Joyce didn't see where it was dragging, so she asked my mom to pin it. My mom also sews so she gladly got down and pinned it. She wants your help, but it can come a crossed as her being snippy to someone who doesn't sew. She is trying to get the dress exactly the way you want it. Her work is unmatchable and she did great on both dresses. I would highly recommend her.

ALL RIGHT, LADIES. LISTEN UP. Here's a review from another point of view. My name is Lynda DePompei and Joyce was my business partner for many years. I was (and still am!) a dress designer/dressmaker and Joyce did her alterations wizardry in the shop we shared. Above and beyond having a lot of great conversations and million laughs together, we also learned a lot about fabric, fit, business and personalities(!) as well as logged endless hours of fitting experiences. We both made a decent living, but we also honestly did care about how our clients looked. We loved making them happy, and, after all, their looking great truly was the best advertisement of our skills. In this business there is nothing like experience, and it's been Joyce's job for a long time to make brides look their best. This is not the time to have your hand patted and be told only what you want to hear. If you find yourself resisting some point Joyce is trying to make to you, then I'd guess you're not taking an honest look at yourself in that mirror. Y After all, you'll be looking at those wedding pics the rest of your life and it will be too late then for regrets. Put yourself in Joyce's capable hands then prepare for some fun fittings and a dress that just may fit better than anything you've ever worn in your life. But as I've always told my clients, be forewarned - wearing clothing that fits beautifully, not just adequately, is addictive!

Joyce was an absolute pleasure to work with!! She is feisty in the best way possible - she'll tell you her opinions on the dress and make sure that you don't leave disappointed. She listened to my opinions and took care of my dress like it was the only one she had on her plate. She had to move the lace border up when she shortened my dress - and I was so nervous about it - and it was absolutely perfect. She is kind and cares SO much about making sure the bride looks and feels her very best on her wedding day. She had me practice walking and even DANCING. - plus she had my bridesmaids practice bustling my dress. I can't recommend Joyce enough!

GO TO JOYCE! I don't even know where to begin when writing a review for Joyce because she was the very best vendor I dealt with when preparing for my wedding. Not only does Joyce have an amazing skill and talent, she cares about making the dress perfect for you. Joyce spent many hours working on my dress and listened to all sorts of crazy requests that I had (cut off the train, take out layers of tulle, etc.) Joyce went above and beyond to make my dress perfect and was even willing to rise to the challenge of working with a complicated beaded waistbelt. You will quickly learn when working with Joyce that she is a great person as well. I never hesitated to share my thoughts and concerns with her and she made me feel comfortable enough to express my opinions and thoughts. She met with me about 6 times before my dress was finished because she wanted to make sure the dress met all my expectations and also knew that with added stress of the wedding date approaching, my weight could (and would) fluctuate. My dress exceeded my expectations, it fit me perfectly, and made my day extra special because I felt like a million bucks. I will never go to another seamstress again because I am so confident in Joyce and all she can do. I can't wait to get my pictures back to show her how amazing she made me look!

Joyce is great! She works out of her house now on the east side of town. She had me come "visit" my dress several times where we tried on the dress, made a couple minor alterations and mostly danced around and practiced walking/sitting in the dress. I didn't have any family or bridesmaids available to make it to most appointments so Joyce became the one to reassure me that this is the perfect dress for me and that it'll look great on the big day, and it sure did!

OMG I don't even know where to start. Joyce is the most amazing woman I have ever met. From day one I knew she would fix my dress exactly how I wanted and she went above and beyond. Joyce actually cares what you look like and how you feel when you are wearing the dress. She doesn't just alter it. She puts every minute into making sure you can walk in your dress, that it fits every curve on your body perfectly, that you can dance in it and sit in it and everything else you probably thought a seamstress wouldn't do. She is very kind hearted and she will laugh and cry with you. I know I have made friend for life in hiring Joyce to alter my dress. My mother absolutely loves her and my husband can't wait to meet her. Going to Joyce was the best decision I ever made because my dress looked absolutely beautiful. I am so sad that my time with her ended so I decided she could alter a few more things for me. I always couldn't wait to go see Joyce and can not express in words how happy I am.

Joyce was wonderful! My dress had a chapel train and lace appliques covering the entire dress. I'm only 5'1", so there was some work that needed to be done to make the dress fit just right. Joyce made my dress look absolutely perfect on me. Joyce and I did walking and dancing moves to make sure the dress wouldn't drag or trip me. I had enough fittings to make sure the dress was going to be perfect for my day and it was. I absolutely loved the two tiered bustle. It was gorgeous! Joyce is very serious about her work but she made the experience fun as well. I'm very grateful for her beautiful work on my dress! It was perfect!

Joyce is like the fairy godmother of wedding dress alterations. She goes above and beyond your typical seamstress. She looked at my daughter in her wedding dress from every angle. If you look up the word perfectionist in the dictionary, there is Joyce! Not only did Joyce make many small adjustments, she ironed the dress too. I think you won't find anyone that is more interested in every bride looking her very best than Joyce. I will miss our visits. She is true gem! PS - she is way better at alterations than the person from Wendy's Bridal that altered one of the bridesmaid's dresses and Joyce's fees are much easier on the wallet than bridal stores. That is another story!

Joyce was an absolute job to work with! She was honest and always assured me that I was in capable hands. One thing that Joyce does is talk you through every change she intends to make. This helped me understand the process and put my mind at ease. I had 7 fittings and looked forward to each one. Because of our short engagement (3 months) I had to buy a dress off the rack. I am short and petite so there was A LOT of work to be done. Joyce exceeded my expectations, my dress fit perfectly, and her prices are extremely reasonable. If you want to look beautiful and comfortable on your wedding day, work with Joyce. She is a true artist and does incredible work.

Joyce is the best! I miss my visits with her, now that I'm married. Several of my girlfriends took their wedding dresses to her. So when it was my turn, I had her on my list of vendors before I even purchased my dress. She is honest,fair and experienced. No BS, just straightforward. It's refreshing.

Let me preface this by saying that I had the most fittings of any bride that Joyce has ever had - 14 fittings! Through the process, Joyce remained calm and reassuring that the dress would fit. Joyce was amazing. She took over 7 inches out of my dress in order to make it smaller - I cannot thank you enough Joyce. I will continue to refer brides to you for a best in class alterations experience!!

I recently got married in Columbus about a month ago. I have never been one to want to write reviews but Joyce was one of my vendors that changed that for me. She was INCREDIBLE. I need to preface this review by letting everyone know I had a very intricate and detailed wedding gown. I interviewed 4 seamstresses before deciding on Joyce. What made me choose her was that she always was honest with me. She always made me believe she was going to give me 100%. I always felt such a confidence in her. I need you all to know I am very very Type A and wanted everything done perfect. She beyond exceeded my expectations. Every fitting I had with her ( 7 to be exact) was a complete joy! I looked forward to every consultation I had with her. She has an energy that makes you happy. She listened to me at every meeting and wanted to make it exactly like I wanted. Her work is just down right AMAZING! Her attention to detail and her work ethic was proven when I wore my dress on my wedding day. I would tell anyone to use Joyce. She will do a fabulous job! The ABSOLUTE BEST IN COLUMBUS!

Joyce was fun to work with, it definitely isn't the place to go if you want a one and done deal, we had multiple appointments, which for my dress was necessary. The dress fit perfectly...1 week and 3 days before the wedding, the only thing to blame was me and stress the last few days before, I lost a little bit of weight, Joyce told me not to! But I did anyway, stupid me. Still looked good, if you hadn't seen the last fitting, you would have had no idea the bottom used to be slightly more fitted. She gave me everything I asked for. I do suggest if your dress is really fitted, don't lose 5 lbs the week before!

Joyce was not only fun to work with, but she was incredibly detailed and really affordable. She delivered my dress (for an extra cost) and steamed it on the spot. The dress fit me perfectly and I actually had compliments on how well it fit. Fantastic all around!

Joyce did the alterations on my dress. Her attention to detail and abilities as a seamstress are beyond compare. She genuinely cared about how my dress fit and took the time to make it perfect. You have to be able to appreciate her honesty and be willing to trust her experience. She made my dress fit like a custom made dress. I felt comfortable in my dress for the entire festivities. I can't thank Joyce enough for the time she spent making my dress and ultimately my wedding day absolutely perfect.
