utiful, it's difficult to pick favorites! Matt was so easy and fun to work with- it felt like we had a long time friend showing up to photograph the wedding, not just a random photographer. We looked all over for a photographer that both my husband and I liked, and we were SO happy we chose Matt! I wish I could give him more than 5 stars :)

one of my countless google searches for “best photographer in Atlanta.” He popped up because he has so many amazing and (as I found out) completely deserved reviews! I started looking at his website and was taken away with how he played with geometry, color, light; the decision to hire him was incredibly easy. Matt took the time to create a customized package for us. I was so touched that he worked with our budget and was still able to give us all that we wanted on our wedding day. On top of that, he made the effort to meet with us on one of the two days we were in Atlanta before the wedding (we live in Seattle but have roots in Atlanta). Before the ceremony, Matt worked wonders! He helped us fend off some bees, weathered a few drops of rain, and even was able to make our baby niece smile in ALL her pictures! It was amazing. He made the reception look like we had hired a professional light crew. His job is to make your wedding look good, and he did exactly that. As you can probably tell, Matt is a joy to be around and work with. Alleviating instead of adding to stress was a priceless benefit of choosing Matt; he truly remained calm through the entire event. Matt dressed the part and was more than we could have hoped for from our photographer. The final product brought tears to my eyes. There are so many incredible photos that it is hard to choose favorites. I love how he used the stained glass in the chapel for some of our portraits; he also found an amazing outdoor spot that made the bridal party photos look like they were out of a fairy tale. All of my friends adored the reception photos – I’ve never seen such a collection of photos where people actually look good when they move! The quality of the images is pristine: I have one of the pictures as my desktop background and I just cannot get over how crisp it is. Blake and I cannot wait to hang up some pictures. Know that you can trust Matt with your wedding day. We are so happy with him and his work that we could not recommend him more!

Matt was exactly what we were looking for in a photographer, closely shadowing us and capturing the wedding, without us even knowing he was there! If we wanted him to snap a quick photo at the reception, I just had to look over a shoulder, and he was right there, ready! He was sure to get every photo from our shot list, and had our guests laughing during the photos! His artistry is second to none, and we got our all of our photos in under 1 month. Matt was one of our favorite vendors, and are so appreciative of his incredible work!

Before the wedding, Matt took the time to get to know us as a couple and what we were looking for in our photos– on the big day, it didn’t feel like he was a random wedding vendor showing up to take pictures, but a longtime friend that was there to capture our day. He kept us on schedule with all of the pre and post ceremony pictures and worked well with the out of town videographer. We were so impressed with the quality of photos he got back to us just a couple of weeks after the big day. All of our bridal party enjoyed working with him too and we can’t wait for some of our friends to use him in the future so we get the chance to work/hang with him again.

When it came time for our engagement pictures, he helped us feel comfortable, which isn’t easy because being intimate in public is not something I’m a fan of. As the big day rolled around, Matt was intuitive about when we needed a break and would pull us aside for a breather and couple shots. the photos (which I’ve been doing a lot), they truly capture our love for one another and the fun we have when we’re together. He is so incredibly talented. On top of that, he’s an awesome person and fun to be around. This was our first time having professional photos taken, so we weren’t sure what to expect, but Matt made us feel at ease and gave great direction. We so appreciated the thought and creativity he put into every single shot he delivered. He’ll also be shooting our wedding in May 2017, and we could not be more excited! aphy stands out to us among all of the other wedding photographers in our area simply because of the simplicity and creativity evident in all of his photos. Often I feel like wedding/engagement photos end up looking the same, but I find all of Matt's photos to be unique and beautiful. We ran into an issue a few months before our wedding where Matt was unable to shoot our wedding since his wife was due that same weekend. Obviously this really freaked me out at first, but Matt worked quickly with us to hire another photographer through Altmix Photography. The photographer he sent to our wedding was just as great as Matt! Not only were her photos amazing, but she was a lot of fun to be around and she was so great at interacting with the wedding party and all of our guests. Matt edited the photos and had them to us in less than a month! We love each and every one of our photos and we love the experience we had with Altmix Photography. I would highly recommend Altmix to any couple looking to work with great people and looking to end up with creative and beautiful shots!

very shot was clear and in focus and the lighting and colors all came through so beautifully. Matt is very creative. You are not going to get any boring wedding pictures with him that’s for sure. He is not one for any stiff awkward poses, but more so capturing whatever happens with you being yourself. We had the windiest wedding day and a lot of the great shots were in the moment of the wind taking over. Others were as we were walking to the next location and Matt noticed the lighting through the lens, told us all to stop and the bridesmaids to crouch behind me and hold my veil from being blown away, and it turned out amazing. He knows lighting and the elements so well and how to work around them to get that perfect shot. He climbs onto random objects or runs into tall grass just to get the angle he wants. He adds his own twist to traditional photography and the result is artistic, moody, raw emotion. Another thing that made him a great photographer was just Matt himself. He is such an awesome guy - very calm and chill, upbeat, easy to be around, and also absolutely hilarious. He was such a joy to have around on our wedding day. He kept the mood light and fun, was very quick at getting the shots, and made smiling for the camera very easy. After looking at our pictures, everyone kept saying “I don’t even remember seeing him during the ceremony”. THAT is what you want for your wedding. Someone who is so good at what he does that he can go unseen during the ceremony yet be able to flawlessly capture it all. He is also so fun to have during the reception as well. He doesn't just stand in a corner and take pictures. He is taking it all in dancing with the music, laughing with everyone, and brought so much energy. He uses a cool shutter drag technique for some of the dancing shots that made those pictures look like the most epic reception there ever was. 
Lastly, he goes above and beyond for his clients and is happy to do so. He had our pictures ready for us in a matter of weeks, and even dug through them to find some family pictures to edit for us early as a Christmas gift for our parents. He is an awesome guy who takes incredible pictures and I highly, highly recommend him for any of your photography needs.

so much more sophisticated and so much more fun than a lot of photographers you see today. It can be so hard to capture movement and the fee of your day while keeping an incredible quality. He does both impeccably well, it's pretty incredible! We worked with Matt for our engagement photos, capturing our rehearsal dinner, our wedding day and photo booth. If it's a possibility, I highly recommend having coverage for the rehearsal dinner - it's such a special time and some of our favorite photos are from that album. We also recommend Matt's photo booth! The photos are much higher quality than your average booth, your guests will thank you. Ultimately, we can't say enough great things about Matt. He's so talented and you will be in love with your photos for life!

r style. We loved Altmix's style from the first photo we saw, and we were blown away by the photos from our wedding, too. We decided to hire just Matt to photograph, rather than both Matt and Kate, for budget reasons. They were very flexible, though, while we figured out exactly which package we wanted. Matt worked so hard to be everywhere at once. When we got the photos, we saw that he captured the whole day - us, our families, our guests, and a lot of sweet and wonderful little moments! His style is fantastic and the photos look great - artistic and classic, and not corny at all. Kate was also wonderful in processing the photos. We couldn't be happier! We have so many amazing photos - we may need several albums to house them all! Also - the photos were ready so fast (before we even got back from our honeymoon)! Matt was also SUCH a pleasure to work with. He was kind and even-keeled and very flexible throughout. He managed to corral our rowdy, large families together for group photos in a friendly, but still effective, way. Matt also had a talent for capturing great photos, but without us even noticing that he was photographing. He was never obtrusive. Matt and Kate have amazing attention to detail. It comes out in everything they do - from their informational materials, to their packaging- and especially in their photos. They capture beautiful, posed photographs and sweet impromptu moments. We recommend them so wholeheartedly. We couldn't be happier with our photos and we had such a wonderful experience working with them.

The finished pictures truly told the story of our day. The cost of their services was worth the talent and the amount of edited photos we received. We now have canvas prints of their photos hanging all over our home.

Both of our families were impressed with the way they seemed to be in all the right places at the right times, as well as their ability to organize such a large number of family members! Bottom line: Altmix Photography creates gorgeous pictures of your wedding day. Every single one is a piece of art. Their photos tell a beautiful story of your wedding and evoke all of the joy and excitement of the actual day. Beyond that, Matt and Kate are just fun, wonderful people. We wanted artsy modern pictures that captured the moment not necessarily traditional posed pictures. Upon searching my now husband came across this picture that mesmerized him. He said he wanted that photographer. I saw the picture and thought that it was part of a magazine and not from an actual wedding photographer. Later on we found out that it actually belonged to Altmix Photography, composed of Matt and Kate Altmix, the best photographers ever!! They are super nice to work with and they really cater to your style. They are super professional and they ooze creativity! Every picture looks like it could be in a magazine. I definitely recommend them to anyone looking for an awesome photographer. The best part is that you get two for one. Matt goes with the groom before the wedding and Kate with the bride. Another plus is their awesome photobooth! Everyone at the wedding loved going there and posing like celebrities. Just remember to buy the props for it if you wish to have your guests carry props. Altmix may seem a little bit pricey but once you see their work compared to others you will realize that you get what you pay for, great quality work.
