a nutshell: Pros: -Extremely talented - we loved his "candid" style and attention to detail, the photos turned out exactly as we had hoped. Everyone who's seen them has been blown away by how beautiful they are -Very personable - he's super nice and made us feel very comfortable -Tons of pictures - he provided us with nearly 2,000 completely edited, incredible images -Creative - he scoped out the venue before taking our portrait shots to find the most out-of-the-box, cool settings Cons: -Family/Friend photos - it may be my fault for not specifically asking for it, but I was kind of surprised and bummed out by the lack of photos we got of our guests. I feel like toward the end of our portrait/couple shots, the second photographer could have gone to the reception to get photos during the cocktail hour -Delayed delivery of images - It took 11 weeks for Alvyn to get us our images - he apparently had a busy season, but I was kind of disappointed with the delay

ls. Phone calls and emails doesn't get answered right away. and , make sure if you are getting a second photographer .. to have an understanding that you will be paying for a professional /certified photographer .

My father in law was very ill with cancer leading up to our wedding. Alvyn was there to answer my endless threads of e-mails about my (three!) changed wedding dates (we kept pushing it up due to his illness), questions, requests and concerns. Alvyn was out of the country when I e-mailed him telling him we were going to push the wedding up the third time and have it within the next 5 days. I had asked if he could come photograph it in my husband’s backyard. He e-mailed me back almost right away and said he was out of the country until Friday, but the Sunday wedding I had suggested worked for him. For any of you who have ever traveled or experienced jet lag—props to him. I was thrilled. Alvyn came the day of our wedding on 7/12/15 and took the MOST AMAZING pictures. He was the able to capture all of the emotion and happiness that was felt that day (which was a lot!!) He had brilliant candid shots, as well as beautiful family portraits and such an artistic eye. He was able to get all of the pictures I wanted, without being intrusive or commanding. My whole wedding party loved him. These pictures are the last sets of pictures I have of the whole family together and they are perfect. My father in law passed away exactly a week and a half after our wedding. I cannot even express how much I cherish these photographs and how thankful I am that Alvyn takes such amazing/beautiful pictures. And that he was so nice and relaxed during this whole process with me. Even though we had like 5 e-mail chains going at once with all my different questions/date changes/ectect. Despite the backyard wedding, my husband and I kept the “big wedding” by request and last wishes of my father in law. So on 9/11/15 Alvyn came and photographed my wedding #2! This time the shuttle bus provided by the hotel to Pine Knob got lost. We went from having an hour pre-ceremony for pictures to ZERO time. With a wedding pushed back a solid 40 minutes, that left very little time for us to get pictures afterwards. Alvyn remained his usual super chill, very nice and light self. He was able to direct and take command of my massive 18 person, drunk, best friends since high school wedding party and get ALL the pictures I had requested. He even squeezed in time for just my husband and I in some quick (yet creative!!) places! There are not enough wonderful things I can say about Alvyn’s pictures or working with him. You can’t go wrong working with him. I would 10000% recommend him to anyone I know. He is simply the best!

e amenities we were looking for (2nd photographer, engagement shoot). Husband and I were very glad we decided to do an engagement shoot. Not only was it good to meet Alvyn face-to-face before the big day (we planned our wedding from out-of-state), but it also helped us feel more comfortable in front of the camera. Plus, we ended up with gorgeous photographs to use for thank-you cards and display at the wedding. Alvyn was great all around. He answered my many emails and texts quickly, and he did some scouting for us for the location for our engagement shoot (in Ann Arbor) and for our first look. We trusted his professional opinion on which location would be perfect, and it was a relief not to have to make more decisions! You can tell Alvyn is very thoughtful in his composition, color, and focus in each photograph. He truly loves what he does and is committed to making his clients happy. We can't wait to see our wedding photos!
