Alyssa was absolutely AMAZING!!! We all know that one of the most important things when planning a wedding is the photos, & as soon as we booked her as our wedding photographer, our experience from the very beginning was incredible! We were able to meet her prior to our wedding day because she took our engagement photos, & we loved her and our photos. She makes you feel extremely comfortable & is so easy to work with. She's very professional & responds to texts/emails very quickly. She also made sure that I knew that I could text her any time with any questions that I had or really anything that I needed. She even went above & beyond & gave me her opinion on which videographer to use for our wedding day, which I truly appreciated. If you have any hesitation on booking with Alyssa...DON'T. You will not regret it!

My name is Alyssa Bain, and I’m an award-winning wedding and portrait photographer based out of Phoenix, AZ. I started a wedding photography company called Butterscotch Rose Photography with my sister back in Denver, CO in 2017; after five wedding seasons of business and so many amazing adventures, I am now living in Phoenix and am so excited to continue my photography journey as a solo shooter in this beautiful state! A little bit about me: I live in Phoenix with my amazing husband and our cat. I’m a lover of animals, food, travel, eclectic music, challenging hikes, and I practice yoga daily.

xceeded expectations. Alyssa was communicative, and tailored the experience to make my vision better than I could imagine! Our wedding was held at a generous relative’s house in Paradise Valley- with Camelback Mountain and Mummy Mountain as the backdrop. Two days before the nuptials, the neighbors decided to bulldoze their yard, and put up an ugly fence right behind where we were to say “I do!” Me and my husband pondered moving the entire 160 guests to another location on the property- but we were worried the direct and intense Arizona sun would make for an uncomfortable experience for us and our guests. Alyssa surveyed the yard, and assured us that she would be able to photoshop out the construction, so that we could use our original desired spot! She is a problem solver! Coincidentally, this area had the best lighting…Alyssa knew this because she swung by at the exact time of the ceremony (but in advance) so she could map out all of the shots.
One thing that was important to me and my husband, was that we could spend time with our guests during the cocktail hour. Alyssa’s time management was on point, she managed to get in all of the shots that were important for us to have captured in record time, so we could spend time with our guests. Alyssa is a master of capturing the staged family photos that you want when you get married, but also the fun/candid pics of the guests dancing, smiling, and having a blast.
Friends and family I spoke with after the wedding were so impressed not only by Alyssa’s professionalism, but also by her warmth.
Alyssa gave clear direction, was open to feedback and ideas, and always made us feel comfortable. Side bar, I was having issues with my bustle, and she took the time to fix it- which was no easy task, as the dress was crocheted, and those darn buttons were a pain to find! They posed a problem for my mom and friends- but Alyssa seamlessly stepped up to help, and fixed that bustle in record time.
At the end of the day, I have lovely photos, but I felt like I made a new friend. Hire her for all of your events!

I can't even begin to describe how amazing of a photographer and human Alyssa is, and how vital she was to our wedding day. From the first time we met her, we knew she was a perfect fit for us. Alyssa brings the highest level of energy, confidence, and professionalism to the table.
During the wedding planning process, Alyssa was exceptionally easy to communicate with, provided her insight and opinion on non-photography matters we consulted her on (she's certainly been to more weddings than we have...), and made sure we had zero doubts or questions going into our big day.
On the day of the wedding, Alyssa was extremely helpful with keeping us all organized with the schedule, helped fix my hair when I needed it, and made us SO comfortable during all of the photos. She made it so easy on us! There was never a moment where I felt awkward or uncomfortable during the pictures, even though I thought for sure I was awkward to photograph! Alyssa made a genuine effort before and leading up to the wedding to get to know us as a couple to ensure we had a real connection with her on our big day, which no doubt translates to even better pictures.
Alyssa is truly the best in the business. We are so grateful that we chose her to be a part of our big day, and can't say enough good things about her!

redibly genuine, organized and knowledgeable. She is down to earth and has such a calming and assured presence - which is so very helpful with wedding planning and day of activities! Throughout the entire process she helped in answering questions regarding timing, schedule and ideal lighting. We had to have a VERY last minute pivot due to a heat wave and Alyssa was flexible, understanding, and made sure we were still able to get the various photos we wanted on the day. AND THE PHOTOS WERE INCREDIBLE! They look organic and full of life, verse staged and standard. They are vibrant, natural and the editing is perfect and timeless. I found Alyssa after the initial photographer I had booked for my wedding completely stopped responding to all communication from us, and a second photographer we attempted to hire...
wanted us to change our entire wedding day timeline ( and then also stopped responding to us when we wanted to keep our timeline the same!) with just about 4 months to go til the wedding day. I would go through all of that stress again if it meant I would still end up with Alyssa!
From our first conversation with her, my husband and I felt like we were in great hands, and all of the stress we had been experiencing around photography went away. Alyssa is the perfect balance of laid back with a master plan in her head of what needs to get done and made sure it all happened without it feeling like any part of the day was being rushed. It was a serious pleasure to work with her, and I would recommend her to anyone I know!

I literally held back tears because she did an amazing job capturing our special day. The attention to detail is over the top and she captured pictures that we never would have thought of taking. During our engagement photo session, Stephanie gave us a little extra time because the lighting got even better over time, creating some incredible shots for our Save the Date. We were lucky to have both Stephanie and Alyssa at our wedding, and they were so patient dealing with our family and large wedding party. We received our sneak peek photos within 2 weeks and our full collection within 8 weeks. They came out so beautiful and are so grateful to have pictures that captured the day so perfectly!! aesthetic and amazing compositions, and we wanted to work with someone who really got us as a couple. I really appreciate that she spent some time before our session to understand what we were looking for so that she could recommend the best locations and styles of photography.
We're not super comfortable in front of a camera, but Alyssa was able to direct us in such a professional but friendly way. It felt completely natural and was actually really fun! By the end of the session we even felt confident enough to choose our own poses which is not something I ever thought I could do! The photos are absolutely incredible and my partner and I are so excited to have them to use at our wedding and show off in our home!

Alyssa and Stephanie were instantly friendly and warm upon meeting, even cracking jokes and rolling with the crazy blizzard that happened to occur on our wedding day! eat suggestions and rolled with the punches up until the very last minute. They were super flexible when we had to change the ceremony location a month before the wedding, and at that time we were able to add on their amazing videography services. They shot photos with us at two different locations and even had the video of our ceremony ready in a matter of hours so it could be played at our reception for guests who were not able to attend in person. These ladies go above and beyond and we are so happy we picked them for our wedding photography. Did I mention the photos and video are incredible?! I could go on and on. Thanks again Butterscotch Rose!

Alyssa and Stephanie were absolutely AMAZING! They photographed my elopement in Garden of the Gods park at the last minute. We only had two short hours we them and within that time...
we felt so close to them and comfortable around them. My parents and family raved about how kind they were, how professional, and how much they really included everyone. They kept us laughing through the whole shoot, and really made us feel special and like supermodels. They took our ideas, had plenty ready for us, and worked really well together. We had a BLAST with them and would use them over and over again!!!

ed with Alyssa, who has been extremely responsive and caring through the whole process so far. We felt very comfortable with her right from the start when we had a phone consultation, and then meeting her in person was a delight. She also went and scouted out a location for us before the day of the shoot which was really reassuring and showed us that she is really thoughtful and dedicated to perfecting each session. The package prices are customizable which makes building a package unique for every couple. All in all, we can't wait to see our pictures and are so looking forward to working with Alyssa and Stephanie for our wedding next May!

they made us feel so good on our wedding day! They made sure that they collaborated with us and knew exactly what we wanted for our day! They were willing to climb mountains(quite literally), stand out in the rain and get wet, really do anything we asked.. they were down! We got some super cute rain shots, and our photos look phenomenal! Our photos are very earthy/rustic and really capture the love we have for each other! My wife and I couldn’t have asked for anyone better! Butterscotch Rose is a MUST for your big day! We WILL be booking them for when we are in Colorado for our one year anniversary!! Working with Alyssa was great! We travelled to Denver for vacation and thought it would be fun to have our engagement photos taken while we were there. However, we wanted something...
unique, and a little less traditional, so we decided on having a city shoot using the AMAZING city art as our background. When going over our ideas with Alyssa, she seemed just as excited as we were and offered outfit suggestions, and told us we could text her photos of any outfits ahead of time if we needed help picking something out. During the shoot, Alyssa was enthusiastic, gave very positive feedback, and offered many different poses. She was very open with letting us try our own poses, as well. Overall, the shoot was fun, laid back, and comfortable. The final product turned out AMAZING - we are so happy with the final photos and how they were edited. If you're looking for engagement or wedding photography in the Colorado era, we HIGHLY reccomend Butterscotch Rose Photography!

There were times I forgot they were there, and they captured the sweetest moments of our day. They laughed with us, listen to what we wanted, and welcomed feedback.
We can't say enough positive things about these two beautiful sisters. From the moment we met them, the morning of our wedding day, we knew they would make our day the best ever! You will NOT regret hiring them, I promise. You won't find a better photographer in the Denver area!

Falcon and it was exactly the scenery I was looking for. The photos ended up being so so beautiful. Alyssa really has a creative eye and did an amazing job posing us in a way that was natural and candid. I would recommend Butterscotch Rose Photography to anyone and everyone I know.
