We also connected on both of our love of traveling to Japan! She arrived promptly on our wedding day and quickly made us feel at ease. My husband and I are sometimes a little awkward with photos, but she captured so many cherished moments and we are beyond thrilled at how they turned out. She gives the perfect amount of direction - you never feel awkward or confused as to what you should be doing, but every shot still looks effortless and candid. Every single one of our wedding photos (both of us and of the guests) are full of life, romance, and joy. They're so special.
Ali captures intimate and playful moments from vantage points that make you think "what the heck I didn't even know she was over there!" And somehow she captures flash photography moments at night but you swear you never saw a single flash go off. She's a magician!
My husband and I shared a final, private dance at the end of the night that truly ended up being our favorite moment of the whole wedding. It was so intimate, and Ali somehow snagged a photo from a hidden vantage point and captured the moment perfectly. Our hearts dropped when we saw the picture. We are forever grateful to Ali for everything she did, but especially that photo. We'll cherish it forever.
Of note, Ali's services was the only wedding budget line item that my husband didn't bat an eye at. SHE'S WORTH IT!

Her love for what she does and photography screams from her work, and I LOVE her artistic point of view. She makes the small details just as special as the big moments. Her work ahead of time to figure out who needed to be shot made the day run really smoothly. Then on top of that, she drove us from our venue to the Tree of Life at Audubon and back for some extra photos there. Sneak peak photos came quickly, and she offered to shoot film which was an absolute plus.

Our photos for our engagement shoot came out natural and down-to-earth, which is exactly how my fiancé and I are - we were worried any engagement photo session would look staged or fake but that was absolutely not the case with Ali. Neither myself nor my fiancé really enjoy taking photos but she made the whole process so easy and enjoyable and we ended up getting wonderful pictures. And then our wedding photos came out amazing - she captured all the small moments (my fiancé holding my hand during speeches) to the big ones (like the surprise tattoo I got of his handwriting!) in addition to the very long portrait list I gave her which she whipped through expertly so we could get on to the fun part (drinks/food!).

When shooting with a new photographer, I always worry if the shoot will be awkward, but you definitely don't have to worry about that with Ali! She puts you in such a comfortable and natural environment. One bonus is that she also doesn't mind when you bring friends to the shoot. I brought my maid-of-honor and sister to my session and Ali definitely used it as an advantage, getting them to make me laugh to get the most candid shots.
