All I can say about Alyssa is that she is the best! She has a great team who are all super professional. She will make you look beautiful. I hired her for my welcome reception (the day before) and my wedding. She was able to create two different looks for both days.

Alyssa was everything I could have asked for on my wedding day. Even though she ran a little late with traffic(my wedding was the same weekend as the Alamo bowl), she kept me informed and still finished my party and me with plenty of time to spare. She took the look I wanted and added the vavoom to it. She also managed to please my mother which is a HUGE trial to do. Her calm and friendly demeanor made the entire experience wonderful. I cannot find enough words to say how much I loved her work. The best part wadi looked gorgeous and my makeup and hair lasted all night. I literally did not want to wash it off. She was worth every penny.

Alyssa and her team did hair and makeup for myself, six bridesmaids, two groomsmaids, two moms, one grandma, and one flower girl! Lots of people to get through but they spent a great amount of time with each girl and everyone turned out beautifully. Alyssa and Monica were both so sweet and I really enjoyed working with them. My only concern the entire time was Alyssa's long delays in responding by email - she works better via phone. So once I figured that out, they were wonderful to work with. Highly recommend them both!

I was very excited to find out that Alyssa was available for my May 27, 2012 wedding, especially after reading her great reviews and looking over her work on her site and FB. She didn't always reply to email quickly, but we finally booked my trial run for mid-April. She ended up being behind due to two clients running behind for previous appts., so I got in an hour late, but she was very apologetic and nice about it. She was very attentive & asked a lot of questions while doing my hair and makeup and I was pleased with the results and no longer anxious about that aspect of the wedding. This is where the good review ends. I then figured it'd be a good idea to confirm the wedding day prices & she said $185 for in-studio and $225 for on-location, and she confirmed it was just me needing work (I had a very small wedding w/my daughters as flower girls, so didn't need her to do hair & makeup for a bridal party). She also confirmed the wedding date. I emailed her at the beginning of May to confirm the time and location we would be meeting on 5/27. I would have emailed her sooner than that but I already thought we were booked after we talked during my trial run. I wanted her to come to my home in San Antonio. It took her 6 days to even reply, and when she did she said that it is minimum $400 required to do on-location, even in San Antonio limits, and asked again if anyone else was needing work, even though I told her twice already it was just me. I do notice now that this $400 fee IS listed on her website, but I don't understand why she never explained that to me when I specifically asked her while in her studio. At this point on 5/16, she still never mentioned she had another bride booked or let me know that I needed to sign a contract. I replied in less than 24 hours that, nevermind, I will just go to her studio that day since I won't be spending $400+ on just me. She never replied. I called, texted, emailed....she just never replied to let me know she booked another bride or apologize for the miscommunication between us. Throughout this whole process, she never asked me to sign a contract before the wedding or put down a deposit, so I still assumed this wasn't a necessity & I had her booked. I know now that I should have asked more questions myself, but since she is the professional and has been involved in a LOT more weddings than I have, I feel that she should have communicated this better to me. Again, a contract and/or deposit was never once even mentioned. I was & still am hurt and upset. Luckily I was able to find someone else SIX days before my wedding at a salon but I shouldn't have had to do that. I shouldn't have had to worry about that after I THOUGHT I had already booked someone that I was very excited about. Even though she does do great work, reliability, professionalism & effectively communicating are much more important to me.
