I tell stories as they are. I see beauty in the unexpected. I see importance in telling the truth. To me, photography isn't about airbrushing flaws and shying away from humanity. It's a celebration of humanity. You don't need to be anyone but yourself on your wedding day, and I believe you deserve a photographer who celebrates authenticity. Does this mean every photo will be taken without consideration for lighting, composition, or beauty? Absolutely not! I've been obsessed with beauty my whole life. I take great care that my photos aren't bland documentations, they are photos of real moments that are beautiful enough to hang on your walls. I decided a long time ago I didn't have to choose between beauty and reality-- to me, they go hand in hand. So yes, I will be taking pictures of the flowers in boxes before taking the pretty detail shots. I'm gonna document the messy tables of half-eaten cake as the night winds down. I will be on the lookout for little moments in between all the big ones. I don't bring shot lists with me to weddings. I bring an open heart and open eyes. Your wedding doesn't need to be anything other than what it is, in all its perfect imperfection. It is the people and their stories that matter to me. Everything else is just a bonus.
