Amanda was amazing! I brought her a dress and a crazy idea to remake the top. She took on the challenge and I am so happy with the result.

Amanda was knowledgable, professional, and had competitive pricing among the people I researched. She altered my wedding dress and gave suggestions, like buying a crinoline for more volume under the skirt.

Amanda was a LIFE SAVER! She tailored both my sister and my dress for our weddings. I was a Covid wedding and had bought a dress pre-pandemic that I had initially brought to Amanda who gave me an honest evaluations as my dress had gotten VERY large. We both decided I should just get a new dress and she so kindly offered to bring all of the dresses I bought to her so that we could take a look together, go over quotes, etc. When we chose a dress finally Amanda listened to all of my asks (crazy and not) and was always so kind and altered my dress in a way that made me feel SO comfortable. On the DAY before I left for my wedding I decided I wanted a last minute adjustment and Amanda squeezed me in amongst her many brides...I profusely apologized and she so lightheartedly told me this is the industry she works in! I am so thankful for Amanda and all of her help on making my difficult cut dress look PERFECT on me. I would recommend to absolutely any bride! Thank you Amanda!!!

Amanda did a RIDICULOUSLY good job with both of my wedding dresses, if you are in NY or anywhere nearby, go straight to her. I'll be going to her for all my tailoring needs moving forward (which is great because I am going to be a bridesmaid/guest for a lot of weddings next year). From day one, Amanda showed a really thorough knowledge of her craft. We had a good initial chat via email that helped me decide on the vintage wedding dress I bought (because certain vintage dresses are not so easily tailored as others, especially when it comes to resizing!). During our consultation, she was very knowledgeable and gave great insight into what would look best on the dress and what would structurally make the most sense-- I really wanted buttons on the back of the dress and she advised that I do a zipper with buttons on it, and I am REALLY glad I went with that! She also advised on what I should wear under the gown to make it look good, things that I had never thought of like a longline bra vs. a bodysuit and a certain type of crinoline to make sure the fabric doesn't bunch anywhere. For my reception dress, she had to re-dart the chest because it was too pointy, which was not easy because the dress wasn't initially made correctly, but she fixed it and made it look amazing. She also made me a beautiful veil that perfectly complements my dress-- again her expertise came in handy because I was considering lace and when she suggested that it might overwhelm the dress, I totally agreed. The veil she made adds the softest and most elegant touch to the dress, which was my vision! That being said, if I was dead-set on lace she would have done it but I was looking for her input. She also never settles for "that looks fine" with the work she does-- she makes she that everything is done correctly and looks as good as it possibly can, which is a MUST for anyone looking to get a dress altered, especially a wedding dress! She is so professional and wonderful and I cannot recommend her enough.

Amanda was so thorough with every single detail of my dress. It was perfect!

Amanda did such an amazing job- she took a beautiful but too big sample gown and completely re-worked it so that it fit perfectly! This was a very complex job involving removing and re-stitching a corset, which were all done beautifully. Amanda is professional, transparent about pricing, and generally a joy to work with.

Amanda was brilliantly creative in tailoring my dress (from a wedding that was meant to take place in May 2019 and was postponed to Oct. 2021) to fit, against all odds. I was certain it couldn't be done, but she made it work, and for that I'm hugely grateful! Her studio is charming and always has great music playing. Would highly recommend—and in fact am sure I'll go back for alterations on non-bridal dresses!

The very best kind of training, experience and professionalism you could possible ask for. I gave her my wedding dress and and bridal shower dress and she was possibly my favorite wedding vendor. I was at complete ease during and in between every appointment knowing I had someone reliable, seasoned and exquisite in their work taking care of my dresses.

1,000% would recommend! Amanda was amazing to work with. You can really tell she loves what she does, and she knows her stuff! I was wearing two wedding dresses, one for my ceremony and one for my reception. These were not the easiest alterations, and Amanda put in a lot of work to get them perfect on quite a time crunch. The whole time I worked with her, I got the sense that she cared as much as I did about me looking my best in my wedding dresses, and what more could you ask for? Definitely recommend!

Amanda is the best! I've been bringing her (extremely ill-fitting) bridesmaid dresses for years, so when I started thinking about my wedding dress, I knew exactly who to talk to. Amanda gave me great advice about what to look for in a dress and where it would be easiest/most pleasant to shop. When my plans changed due to COVID, Amanda altered my new dress in a matter of weeks. She added structure and boning where there had been none and ensured that everything fit exactly perfectly even when it meant extra work for her. There was a point when I had a minor meltdown (tip: do not take mirror selfies at a fitting). Amanda was compassionate, patient, and helpful. She got me back to her studio immediately, listened to all my concerns, and had solutions in place for the next fitting. Ultimately, the dress was perfect and several people actually remarked on how well it fit. I cannot recommend Amanda highly enough.

Amanda did an incredible job on alterations on my BHLDN Jenny Yoo dress. She was always so calm as we had to work through a bunch of alterations and she never gave the sense that it was too late to make any changes. She really listens and makes sure the dress is exactly as you want. So happy I worked with Amanda.

I bought a department store long white dress online to wear for my mini wedding this fall, and Amanda tailored it for me. She was great, super clear at every step what we would do next. She listened to what I wanted and had good suggestions when I didn't have a strong opinion. Scheduling was easy, and she was careful about COVID safety protocols (required customers to wear masks and always wore one herself, spaced out appointments to sanitize in between, etc).

I needed to make some alterations to my wedding dress in a very short timeframe (4 days!) and Amanda was able to squeeze me in and get everything done in only a day and a half. Amanda was not just fast and accommodating, she did a great job, is easy to work with, and has a keen eye. I've taken other items to Amanda in the past and have always been happy with the work. Highly recommend!

Amanda is great. Beyond her great work and attention to detail, I appreciate how communicative and flexible she has been with me, especially during this crazy year. My wedding date was first scheduled for May, so my first fitting was before lockdown. The pandemic hit and Amanda was stuck with my dress for months (all that to say, you can trust her with your wedding dress for long periods of time! Haha). Once I rescheduled my wedding date, we were back on track, and I have felt safe every time I’ve seen Amanda for fittings. Needless to say, I highly recommend Amanda for any of your wedding dress needs!

Amanda is absolutely wonderful to work with! I had to cancel my June wedding due to the pandemic and ended up eloping in August. Because so much had changed, being able to wear my wedding gown felt extra special and Amanda was committed to making that happen for me. She was so supportive and positive throughout the process. I really appreciate her keeping my dress safe during the lockdown period as well as creating a safe environment for fittings. She is a great listener, quick to problem solve, honest, and just all around lovely to spend time with. Amanda is a true artist and the only person I would trust, implicitly, with my dress! She makes all the little details as important to her as they are to you and aims for perfection. Every time we would work on the dress, Amanda would make improvements I didn't even know could be made---or that the dress needed! She is a delight to spend time with, picks great music, and makes the weeks leading up to your wedding all the more exciting! I am so glad I found Amanda--and just so happy with the final product! Amanda was so wonderful to work with. Because of Covid, my partner and I postponed our wedding indefinitely. However, I didn't want my dress to be the obstacle from us getting hitched. I showed up to Amanda's studio an emotional wreck. She was totally understanding, and made sure my dress was ready for the big day. Also I very much appreciated the details that she added (a blue bustle ribbon to make sure that you have something blue!) were thoughtful, and appreciated when the big day finally came together this month. Amanda is kind, thoughtful, and an excellent listener! After postponing my wedding for COVID, I decided to wear my dress for a teeny family-only wedding ceremony. I called her up last second (2 weeks before my wedding) and she was able to drastically alter the Alyssa Kristin dress that had I purchased from Schone Bridal 8 months earlier. I didn't think it needed much work but, because I had lost about 10 lbs since I had tried it on, she ended up altering the length of the straps, added a bra, hemmed 3 inches, and created a very elegant double French bustle within 10 days. She took the dress from a "that'll do" to a "wow, this is a bomb wedding dress and I feel like a million bucks in it." So grateful for all of her help and expertise.

Amanda is amazing. I took my Floravere M. North dress to her and she was so careful, precise and devoted to making sure I was happy with the result and that we were on the same page each step of the way. She takes her craft seriously and has the experience and background necessary to make you feel comfortable. Along the way, I was looking to have some more structure in the bust and Amanda suggested adding in some boning, which worked so well. When we were considering the bustle, the first attempt she tried was beautiful and I wouldn’t have known that there was another option, until Amanda said, “no, I know something that will be better,” and attempt number 2 was even more beautiful ! She strives for the best and that’s exactly what you’ll get!

Amanda was fantastic, and my appointments with her were such a relaxed part of the wedding whirlwind process! She took one look at me in the dress and came up with a simple plan that it wouldn't have occurred to me to ask for (I thought it needed taking in, she knew the straps needed to be lengthened), and then did that plus everything else I asked for under deadline AND under quote! Plus she's just a really lovely human, and she donates abandoned gowns to a great cause, just completely splendid.

The process was very well organized and every appointment played an important role in the evolution of my dress. I have had several dresses altered by Amanda for special occasions, but none as special as my son’s wedding. My gown needed a lot of altering. The dress and train needed to be hemmed and the bodice had to be taken in as well. It required four appointment fittings, but in the end, the gown was sheer perfection‼️ Amanda even added horsehair to the train so it would float as I walked. She is definitely into the details. My fitting appointments were always on schedule. She and Evie worked extremely well together and knew exactly how much time to allocate for each fitting... and they were always right‼️ I also worked with Amanda on designing an evening jacket. From choosing the material that would work best, to ordering beautiful Swarovski buttons to enhance my French cut cuff, Amanda knew exactly what would look best. What I admire most about her is that she will not tell you that something looks good if it doesn’t ..... You have to respect that. They say that if you love what you do, it’s not a job... Amanda is an example of that. She loves what she does, and her work speaks for itself. She is truly a professional and it was such a pleasure to work with her. -Linda

Amanda did an amazing job with the alterations for my wedding dress two years ago. She was very helpful with making key, drastic decisions like removing my dress's train. She took the time to make sure every last detail was perfect. By the time she was done the dress fit like a glove and was a huge part of making my big day special. I've gone to her for all of my alterations needs ever since and there's no one I trust more!

Amanda enhanced my very simple hi-low strapless dress into one that was exactly what I was looking for. I showed up to our first appointment with various appliques and Amanda came up with ideas on placement. The final product made me feel so special on my wedding day. I was able to dance and I was very comfortable in the dress. Amanda even have me suggestions on hair accessory and bolero to match.

Amanda did a pretty significant overhaul of a sample dress I bought, and she did an amazing job! The dress had to be brought in all along the silhouette (it was too big), sleeves removed, and a keyhole back turned into a V. I first stopped by her shop for a consultation in late July, and my wedding was September 14th, so she did all of this in about 7 weeks. Maybe this is true of all tailors (I don't know), but the process was that she did a little bit at a time over 4 or 5 visits, that way I could try it on each time and we could be sure it was working. This approach made me feel really confident. Amanda is extremely talented and also available for evening appointments (critical for me!). I would definitely work with her again!

Planning a wedding is stressful. Finding the "perfect" dress is something I was dreading. And then, the universe summoned me a true angel, Amanda. I was originally referred to Amanda by a sales associate @ Lovely who used to work with her years ago (even though I ended up getting my dress at bhldn). I booked a consultation where the worst has happened - the dress didn't fit. I was on the verge of a meltdown, and Amanda swooped in and was very realistic and helpful with my options (read: how to make it work with spending thousand of dollars extra). After that she checked in to make sure I'm doing ok, was very accommodating in follow-up appointments, and made me feel like a normal human, with legitimate concerns, and offered true, affordable, solutions. My gown ended up looking stunning, comfortable, and felt like *me*. Amanda is a master in her craft, hands down. But for me, what made it even better is that I always felt like I'm talking to a person, not just a "vendor". Will definitely recommend her to any future bride, and can't wait to have more alterations so I can work with her again!

Amanda is amazing. She was able to alter a dress that was sold to me in the wrong size (much too small). She was patient and so positive throughout the entire experience. I only had about 3 weeks before the wedding for her to complete major alterations, and she got everything done. Will be recommending her to everyone I know!

WOW - Amanda is truly a *master* at her craft. I had 2 dresses that I needed altered for my wedding, one of which was quite complex. This dress had a fitted, densely beaded bodice with a sort of unusual structure, along with a (very) large skirt with mountains of crinoline and a long train. I'm not sure if a single part of it was straightforward for her, lol. I am also very petite, so taking in the bodice required altering all the beading; somehow she managed to maintain (and in some parts actually improve) the beading pattern. The bodice fit me like a GLOVE. She also altered some of the detailing in the back to make it even more gorgeous than it already was, and suggested we change the original sleeves to cap-sleeves, which really modernized the shape and made it look quite elegant. She was meticulous about the bead color, shape, placement, everything. I am also short (5'2"), so the skirt needed to be cleverly re-done so I could walk comfortably while retaining its dramatic cinderella-ball-gown shape. Amanda pulled it off flawlessly. It was a dream. The train and skirt remained dramatic, and I was able to walk with no issues. The bodice really made me feel like a princess. The second dress was a form-fitting, floor-length, art-deco style Halston dress that again needed to be re-done precisely in order to retain the exterior pattern. And once again, she executed this absolutely perfectly. I didn't even know my body could look that good!!! I felt like a 1970s goddess reborn in the modern age. I truly do not have a single, even minuscule critique of either dress. They were everything I could have hoped for. She has an excellent eye that is trained to maximize both comfort and glamour. I know next to nothing about dress-making, alterations, etc., so I deferred almost entirely to her expertise, and I am SO glad I did. I felt so beautiful, and I am so grateful. And despite my dresses being complicated, she never made me feel like I was asking too much of her. If your experience with her is anything like mine, you will turn up at your wedding clothed in absolute perfection. THANK YOU AMANDA!!!! SO MUCH!!

Amanda did a great job altering my wedding dress. The first time I met with her, she explained what she wanted to do and gave me a chance to think about it. I told her which alterations I wanted and she got right to work. She was very professional and helpful. Would definitely use her again. My dress fit very well and I was very pleased with the results. She communicated well and we decided together which alterations to do. I even got compliments on how well the dress fit me.

When my wedding dress arrived, I really lagged on opening the box because I thought "hey, they measured me - it will fit." Boy was I wrong! In a panic with only a little less than 2 months before my wedding and my dress being way too big, I called Amanda. Her calm and "everything will be ok" attitude really relieved my stress. She is also a realist about what can and can't be done. We worked up until the day I was to board a plane. She was willing to drop everything to make sure my dress was as perfect as it could be. Amanda just finished the last of my alterations today and I am absolutely FLOORED by the results. If your looking for an expert tailor who is professional, reliable, and honest, then look no further. I am thrilled with how my dress came out. My dress and jacket were over 4 sizes too big, and my wedding dress had lots of detail between the lace, train, bustle, etc. Over the last 7 weeks I watched this absolute GOD SEND transform the dress into the dress of my dreams. It actually turned out to be even better then I ever could have imagined, and fits me like a glove! She works with your schedule, and is easy to get in touch with if you need her. Truth be told I am going to miss seeing her on a weekly basis, but plan on using her for any and all alterations I need in the future! If you would like ONE part of your wedding planning process to be easy and stress free then hire her as your tailor, you will be thankful that you did!!

I was recommended to Amanda’s for alterations for my wedding dress from where I purchased my dress. It’s a scary thing making changes to your gown not knowing exactly how it will turn out; however I could not have been happier! Amanda made it even more gorgeous which is almost unimaginable! She has such precision with her work you couldn’t even tell where she did what, it was invisible but the difference was there and great! Was so happy I got connected to her for my wedding dress alterations! Her prices are also more than fair. Now one year later she is taking my dress apart and making a separate top and skirt, saw it yesterday and couldn’t be more psyched for these new items I will get to wear again for anniversaries etc! Hired Amanda to make alterations on my wedding gown. My dress was fairly simple but she did a good amount of work on it (bustled, hemmed, taken in at the shoulders & waist, cups added) and I went to a total of 3 fittings over a few months. The dress fit me PERFECTLY for my wedding day. She made the process easy and did an amazing job!

They did a great job with my dress. I needed it hemmed, for the back clasp to be reinforced, and for cups to be sewn into the dress. Everything came out beautifully. They were prompt with communication and flexible about setting up appointments. They were also super accommodating when an uncooperative Subway made me a little late for my first appointment. Amanda did a wonderful job with my wedding dress from Bhldn, and her staff was lovely to work with. My dress was fairly simple as far as wedding gowns go (no embellishments, no crinoline) so having a perfect fit was very important. Amanda was calm and offered gentle advice when needed. AMadden Tailoring did an incredible job with my wedding dress. When I finally found the perfect dress it was a sample that was three sizes too big. I wasn’t sure if it was even salvageable, but I brought it to AMadden, and Amanda took the dress apart and reassembled it beautifully (not an easy thing to do with the intricate folds in the dress. After Amanda worked on it, it fit like a glove! Her work and transformation of the dress was amazing! I am now going to her for all of my tailoring needs after my wedding.

I went to AMadden for minor alterations to my ceremony dress, and was thrilled with the quick turnaround and affordable pricing. But Amanda really saved the day when I received my party dress a week before my wedding and I was unhappy with the embellishments.
