Amanda May Photos

rch, books to read about marriage, and even sent us stationary- we felt so loved and care for!!! It felt like she really was rooting for us and in our corner.  It takes a lot for a man to say “wow, that was actually really fun and never felt awkward” while taking posed, lovey-dovey photos for your engagement shoot, and that’s exactly what my husband said during our engagement photos. Amanda made us feel so at ease and natural when taking photos. We had so much fun together!  As for the wedding day… oh my goodness!!! First of all, she is the most organized person you’ll ever meet. She knows exactly what she wants and how, and that makes your life as a bride SO EASY!!!!!!!! Also, she’s fast. Insanely. We got a million photos (that are the best we’ve ever seen) all while we took photos for not as long as you think we would have. She’s so talented and just so gifted! She was made for this job and it makes anyone’s life as a bride/groom so easy and fun. I feel so grateful to have had such a gem be our photographer. We love Amanda!!

ur day/ pictures are exactly what want. She is worth every single penny, every single time! There are truly not words to describe how caring and loving she is. I tend to get nervous and awkward in front of the camera but she had the perfect prompts and directions which made me feel so much more comfortable and confident. These pictures are going to last a lifetime and they are timeless, stunning, and elevated. There is no one I would trust as much as her! 🤍

r wedding!

which package best fit our needs to walking us through our shots for the wedding day, Amanda was a dream to have by our side. She promptly answered all of our questions, made us feel so comfortable, and included personalized goodies with regular check-ins up until our big day. We didn’t hire a wedding planner and Amanda made the whole planning process so much less stressful. She’s so kind, produces beautiful art and is so easy to work with. We would highly recommend Amanda to everybody for any occasion!

the moment I spoke with Amanda. Amanda May Photos is truly the BEST. If I could give 10+ stars, I absolutely would. Booking Amanda for both our engagement photos and wedding was hands down one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Amanda is one of the kindest, most thoughtful people I’ve ever met. She goes above and beyond in ways you don’t even expect so many little details leading up to the wedding that show how much she truly cares (I won’t spoil the surprises!). She does so much more than just show up on the wedding day. She is organized, responsive, creative, and SO much fun to be around. She made both of us feel completely comfortable and natural in front of the camera, which was huge for us. Throughout the day, our friends and family kept raving about her how friendly she was and how she was everywhere capturing every special moment. Amanda, we truly can’t thank you enough for being such a special part of our day. You are one of a kind. We already can’t wait for an excuse to come back to Tennessee and book another shoot with you just for fun 🤍 It’s honestly so bittersweet you build such an amazing relationship for one day, and then it feels like it’s over too quickly. But we definitely don’t want that to be the case! If you’re looking for an amazing photographer, I promise you Amanda is your girl! ✨

nd kind vendors we worked with. She listened carefully to what we wanted, helped us build an amazing and realistic timeline, and kept everything running smoothly while staying incredibly professional. She even bustled my dress before the reception, which says everything about how much she genuinely cares. On top of all that, she surprised us with sneak peek photos between the ceremony and reception, which was unreal. Your photographer is the most important vendor on your wedding day, and Amanda was worth every single bit — I can’t recommend her enough.

tation, planning assistance/recommendations). She helps tremendously with posing ideas/prompts, catches the light at just the right moment, and never missed a moment of my special day. You'll be surprised over and over with how above and beyond she goes to make your wedding experience 10/10. (I would hate to ruin her special surprises.. book with her and find out!)

us enough, but Amanda made some absolute amazing photos. The composition, the editing, she killed it. And of course, I wanted these photos to be just right to print for a photo book - and she stayed incredibly patient as I fumbled around my photo selections until they were organized just the way I wanted. When it came to the wedding, she was already prepared for a changing timeline, animals, and all the details. She made sure to capture the handful of specific photos I wanted to recreate and used her creativity to capture the rest of a beautiful wedding day! She even got sneak peak photos completed while she ate her dinner at the wedding - who does that?! Her professionalism and kindness it top of the line!

ouches and how organized and helpful she was with everything. You will not be disappointed booking with her or her associate photographers! We’re so excited to have beautiful memories captured forever.

tographed my sister’s wedding in Tennessee in 2023. She was so kind & friendly, plus the pictures she took spoke for themselves! Although we weren’t engaged at that time nor did we live there, we just KNEW we had to have Amanda as our photographer if she traveled! (Spoiler alert: she does!)  She traveled to Colorado for an absolutely breathtaking engagement photo session & then to Cape Cod to capture our dream wedding! Our wedding day was absolutely amazing & Amanda played such a huge part in that. She’s so easy to get along with & even if it’s a new venue, she is so great at finding the best spots for the best pictures with the best lighting. The love and genuine care she has for what she does and her clients is so evident! She’s your go-to hype girl behind the camera, which as a bride on a day where you may feel a little nervous (in the best way), is so refreshing! We truly cannot thank Amanda enough for being part of our special day & capturing our love in such a way that helps us relive the best day over & over again! It’s been one week & we cannot wait to see the rest of our pictures but even the sneak peek photos are truly amazing!  BOOK AMANDA MAY PHOTOS!! You will not regret it 🤍

he photos are incredible and captured some special memories, and we got some photos back within 5 days of the wedding. Such a wonderful experience, would HIGHLY recommend!

concern and ease your mind as a bride. Amanda is a true professional in every way and we could not have selected a better photographer for our East TN wedding! Having around 30+ edited photos on our wedding night is unheard of.. There aren’t enough good words to say. BOOK AMANDA MAY PHOTOS!!!

to be amazing inside and out!! She and I had the privilege to work alongside each other for years in the wedding world and has become a dear friend to me and my family! Her getting to do our engagement session and wedding day was like a full circle moment! She makes you feel so comfortable, relaxed and makes every picture SO FUN and not to mention every single photo we have seen so far is extraordinary!!! So, don’t look any further Amanda May is your girl for all things photos!!!!

oving and so kind. She will not only provide you with the best pictures you could imagine, but she truly will help make your day so magical. She is unimaginably gifted at what she does, and you will reap the benefits constantly for choosing her. She captures your day seamlessly and beautifully to give you the most amazing memories from the best day. I am constantly blessed by her and you will be too!

to get to know you throughout your sessions. She goes beyond photography by assisting with your veil, bustle, and everything in between. She was so quick to send sneak peeks and give a timeline on when the rest of the pictures would be ready. The quality is AMAZING. We highly recommend Amanda and will cherish our pictures for a lifetime.

Farms. With our package we had two specific photographers that were included and both ended up being unavailable. I had done research on the vendors listed and Amanda was one of my top picks. By what I felt like was grace of god and met to be, while most of the photographers on Castleton’s list were booked, I reached out to Amanda and she was available! It was honestly one of the BEST decisions we made when picking vendors. Amanda and her team: Amanda and her team are absolutely amazing to work with! Amanda creates a friendship with you and makes you feel so comfortable! She sent us AMP guides for her photography and what to expect. Juan and I read through everything and felt so comfortable and excited. She also gave us insight on specific engagement and wedding things - first looks, outfits, how to make a veil fly and more. She sent us gifts as well! She really thinks of everything and is so sweet. Working with Amanda for engagement/wedding shoots: I’ve worked with photographers in the past and it’s always stressful when they ask you what YOU want to do for photos. Amanda is the first photographer we have worked with that does not do this. She tells you everything to do to capture the most BEAUTIFUL photos and tell your love story. She will tell you where to place your hands or tell you to spin or dip. She takes all the stress out of photos and that’s when Juan and I really fell in love with working with her. Photo shoots with Amanda are enjoyable and not stressful at all! We had such a fun time with her both engagement and wedding day! The Quality of AMP The photos from Amanda and her team speak for themselves. They look straight out of a wedding magazine and honestly look unreal they are so stunning! We are so excited to decorate our house with Amanda May Photos - both engagement and wedding! Her print quality is amazing as well - we ordered from her for our engagement photos to use as decorations for our wedding. We also made a guest book with her that turned out beautiful!! I cannot recommend working with Amanda May Photos for professional photography enough. Trust that Amanda will capture any point in your life whether it’s engagement, wedding, graduation, maturity photos, family photos, and more. She also has many other great options. You will absolutely not be disappointed! Amanda is such a sweetheart and really has felt like a friend to us during this process! We cannot wait to work with her again in the future.

ould recommend Amanda May time and time again! Truly amazing!!!

ang out with on a very special day! The level of professionalism of her photos was absolutely AMAZING!! It was more than I expected and we are so happy that we have these beautiful photos to reflect back on for years and years to come! Thank you so much Amanda for documenting our very special day! You will NOT be disappointed by hiring her for your special occasion, I promise you!

things about Amanda. From the very beginning, she got to know us as both as individuals and as a couple. From our engagement session to our wedding day, she made us feel comfortable and confident. She helped us organize everything from the wedding day timeline to the best outdoor lighting opportunities. She really paid attention to our vision, and made sure we got all the photo shots we wanted. During the wedding day, I was so impressed with how organized and punctual she was, and at the same time allowing us to feel like everything flowed organically. And when the sneak peaks came back, I was blown away! She captured our day beautifully. I will be so proud to show our wedding photos to everyone. If you get lucky enough to book Amanda May Photography, don't hesitate to say yes!

ay and we're SO GLAD we did! Amanda was so patient with us throughout the process and even helped us make some decisions outside of her responsibilities. We felt an instant connection with Amanda, allowing us to be comfortable, relaxed and ourselves. We went back and forth on whether to hire a videographer and instead decided to go with her sister-in-law Devin Fothergill (@Content_by_Dev) and have tons of raw video footage capturing candid moments and reliving every moment of our wedding day. 10 of 10, HIGHLY RECOMMEND Amanda May and her great team for your wedding!

s highly professional and will ensure that everything goes smoothly for your wedding day. She was able to capture one of the most important days of our life so beautifully. I absolutely loved her easy going style and her light and airy editing. My husband and I along with our friends/family can't stop staring at our beautiful wedding photos!

ng day so relaxed and easy. She has the best personality and I would absolutely recommend her for your wedding or honestly anything you need a photographer for!

r imagined. Her creativity and love for getting the best shot is unmatched! Our entire wedding party could not quit talking about much they all enjoyed Amanda and her fun, easy going personality! She truly has a gift for loving and serving those around her. If you want the most perfect day and pictures to look back at, Amanda is the perfect photographer for you!

ghtful.

ery informative and communicative. I cannot recommend her enough. We will definitely be using her again! Thank you Amanda for everything!

and finally meeting her she is so fun and energetic it’s contagious! I absolutely loved working with her and her energy. She not only captured our day but our spirits and that of our family flawlessly. Would absolutely recommend her for anyone looking for an easygoing, charismatic, caring individual!

h about a person. Then we got really lucky. We went to tell a friend of ours that we were engaged and planning our wedding. We mentioned that we were trying to find the right photographer, and they jumped at the chance to recommend Amanda to us. We are so thankful that she did. Amanda is so easy to work with and takes such amazing photos. We aren't the most photogenic people, and we tend to get a little nervous in front of the camera. But Amanda made us feel so comfortable. She recognized what poses worked best for us and gave easy to understand directions. She made it feel so natural for us. Beyond her fantastic photography skills, Amanda is a genuinely sweet and kind person. She helped to make our day really special, and we are so glad she was there. It truly felt like having a good friend photograph our wedding. We just felt that comfortable. We've heard stories of photographers dominating the wedding, dictating how everything goes. But Amanda worked with us to make sure we got lots of great photos, but we never felt burdened by her presence. Instead she fit right in just like a guest. We are so grateful to Amanda, and we highly recommend her as a photographer to anyone looking to capture the special moments in their lives. We hope to have Amanda capture future special moments in ours.

experience to guide everything to perfection while making photographic art along the way. She loves a story and has a knack for the details, and continually proves to be the best investment from beginning to end. Did I mention that the photos are gorgeous??

turn around time for some sneak peaks, and of course they are all amazing! My husband and I did an engagement shoot and wedding day with her and are in love with every picture! We cannot recommend her enough! We hope everyone is lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with Amanda!

t with her she felt more like a friend than just our photographer. We are forever grateful for Amanda May and her team for giving us the most beautiful photos that we will be looking through for many years to come!! We can’t wait to use her for all other photo needs in the future!! We LOVE AMP!!

ience so special. The engagement pictures she took were a dream, but nothing can top the experience we had with her on our wedding day. She is fun and fast- very knowledgeable and tells you exactly how to get the best photos. She makes taking pictures fun- and that was a must have for my crew. She is the most amazing person and went above and beyond. YALL SHE PUT MY VEIL IN, FIXED MY BUSTLE and BUSTLED MY DRESS, made sure I had everything I needed all day and helped me savor every special moment. You will simply not find anyone better at their job or a better person to share the most incredible day of your life with. There are not enough words I could write to explain just how amazing she is- but you guys NEED her to be a part of your day! I PROMISE IT WILL BE THE BEST DECISION YOU MAKE!!!

l since we had kids in our wedding!!

and the first vendor we booked was Amanda May Photos and her team. We were thrilled she had our date available because we had not one back up option. Let me explain why. When you book Amanda as your wedding photographer, you receive the most gorgeous, full of detail photos you could ever dream of. There's no doubt about that. In a world full of filters and editing, you will receive the most beautiful, full of natural light photos of all the special moments throughout your wedding day. There are not enough synonyms for the word beautiful to describe Amanda May's work. When you receive your photos back from your day (wedding, engagement, etc), you will smile, laugh, cry happy tears, reminisce, and be blown away by what her talent captured. Just by glancing through her blog, it's very clear that Amanda's work will exceed EVERY expectation you had for your photos. So, back to my point, when you hire a photographer, initially the only thing on your mind is the outcome of the photos. What you don't really think of until the session, is what it will be like being around your photographer all day and how they make you feel during these moments caught on camera. I have one word to describe to you for what it's like being with Amanda on wedding day, and the word is joy. Amanda is the most kind spirited, understanding woman and the joy of having her around on your special day is priceless. Her optimistic, professional personality is one of a kind. At one point while all my bridesmaids were getting ready and the room seemed chaotic, I sat next to Amanda while she took flat-lay photos and just talked. While she was working, I talked about things going on in my life, I talked about wedding issues that came up, and she listened with intention because she truly cares about her brides. Amanda is someone you can turn to on your day to have a moment outside of the hustle and bustle. The investment in Amanda May Photos is so much more than just photography. It's someone who will find your wedding lipstick for you when you think it's gone for good. It's someone who will bustle your dress for you. It's someone who will make you feel beautiful behind the lens even if you don't like having your pictures taken. It's someone who invests time in meeting you and who you are, and portrays your relationship through her lens. It's someone who keeps up with the timeline and flow of the day. It's someone who can jive with anyone. It's someone who is so good at her job, all you have to do while taking photos is truly enjoy the moments with your spouse. Amanda is someone who will be there for you on your wedding day in every way imaginable. She is one of the very reasons our day was absolutely perfect and everything we could have ever dreamed of. Amanda, thank you for being you! Anyways, hiring Amanda May Photos and her team is the best decision anyone could ever make!!

tely STUNNING but she is one of the sweetest and most genuine people you could ever meet and goes above and beyond with everything she does! Even though it was a hot day and our wedding started early, Amanda never stopped smiling! So many of our guests were gushing over the photos after the wedding and kept telling me how amazing she was as well! She is so incredibly talented and professional as is the AMP team and I would recommend Amanda over and over again to anyone!

tails involved with a photo shoot. She knows how to find the best lighting, poses, backgrounds, etc. I worked with another member of her team as well (Alaina) and she was so sweet and amazingly skilled as well! Amanda is so thoughtful and great with communication! This was by far the most professional photography company I have worked with, in so many aspects. I would absolutely recommend Amanda May Photography and her team to anyone and everyone and will be doing that from this day forward. I plan to use this company for any and all personal photo shoots moving forward!

was beyond helpful not just with photography but with all things wedding in the area. We chose to have a destination wedding in Gatlinburg so we didn't know a lot of our vendors. Amanda helped us navigate the vendor landscape and offered lots of suggestions. She had worked with many of our vendors which made all the difference in the world. She also did a boudoir shoot with me which was so much fun! My advice to you, plan your wedding around Amanda's openings, you won't regret it! You can't recapture all of the moments from your wedding, splurge on photography and hire Amanda!

to the actual wedding day. We loved her so much and she was able to capture our big day perfectly. We will be using her to capture all of our big moments in the future.

ny professional photography needs!

beyond to not only get stunning pictures but also making you feel like you’re the only couple in the world. She really listens and cares about creating your story. Our engagement pictures were more than I could ever have imagined! I hope to work with her again one day!

ding, and we received a sneak peek at some photos the night of which I was never expecting! She knows the perfect moment to steal you away to get those perfect photos. She was our biggest hype man all day long and knew exactly how to keep everything light-hearted and fun.

ust me, you want to be an AMP BRIDE!!!

ll turn out (and trust me you won't be disappointed with your investment there), but you also need to consider who that person is. As the bride and the family of the bride, you will be with the photographer the most out of anyone on the day of the wedding. Amanda is kind and goes with the flow but leads the day. She creates her own timeline (in partnership with the venue or a planner), which I cannot stress the importance of enough — she is the reason we got everything in that we wanted. A few more things about Amanda — she kept the wedding party light-hearted and interested in standing outside in 94-degree weather (a feat that is nearly impossible to do with a group of guys, but they all adored her and had the best time!). She made all of my photo requests work, was incredibly flexible with my out-of-town schedule, and has been an absolute joy and peace driver of my wedding experience. She sent us countless of goodie bags throughout our engagement. And last but not least, she told us (the couple) how to stand, where to place our hands, where to look, etc.; it made me feel so confident and de-stressed me as a bride. I truly would not recommend anyone else (coming from someone who is extremely particular).

e entire process. She is a gifted photographer and captured the most special moments from our day in such a beautiful way. She was a joy to work with and I cannot recommend her highly enough!
