We had the absolute best time looking for dresses at Amanda‘s bridal loft! I told her that I was dress shopping for myself, but it happened to fall on my mother-in-law‘s 50th birth...
day. I simply asked her if we could do something a little special and I figured we’d get just a sign or something small. We got there and there was a bouquet of flowers, champagne, snacks, and little cookie cakes with a candle for her to blow out. It was actually magical for everyone and MIL even got to try on a mother of the groom dress for herself.
Their dress selection was extensive with so many different styles to choose from and so many different sizes available. I was incredibly impressed with the professionalism. and kindness that was shown to me in my group while we were dressed hunting. She made sure I didn’t try anything on over my budget and was upfront with the costs of everything and what to expect from things like alterations and such. 100% would recommend to anyone looking for their perfect bridal gown.

s severely lacking here & the whole experience was incredibly stressful. My first appt we had the pushy saleswoman others have addressed in the comments & I called the next day after buying the dress (they hadn’t even placed the order yet) to see if we could cancel. They reluctantly gave store credit- but I found another dress that I loved & I was grateful. When I went for my second dress fitting & the dress didn’t fit correctly (3 days before I needed it for wedding/first time even trying on the dress with custom sleeves) we were met with some attitude from the seamstress, even though she had cancelled my earlier appt I had a week prior with her…. one sleeve was significantly tighter than the other causing it to look lopsided. In addition, getting an appt with her was super stressful. It took constant reminders, texts sent with no responses, ect. to get on the schedule and it was all very last minute & stressful. I think she is very overworked & that’s not fair to her, but they shouldn’t be giving her more than she can handle/telling customers she can do all of these things when she doesn’t have the time. They also reassured me before buying the dress that they could add additional boning into the dress for more support (as this was one of my biggest concerns since I have a large bust), & then later on said they couldn’t do that. LUCKILY that was not an issue because I had enough support without it, but not sure why you’d say you could do that. We specifically asked about this & had a discussion about it with seamstress via phone before buying the dress. My mom & I also had to take off work for the last minute appt & we were made to feel like an imposition. She left herself with no time & then acted like it was our fault… She did what she could last minute with loosening the sleeve though she wasn’t happy about it (she had to stay up the night before to do it) so that was appreciated, but why leave it all last minute & make us feel bad about it? I could’ve easily met with her much earlier- I got the dress in 2023 for an Oct 2024 wedding. And I even tried to meet with her sooner but she wouldn’t. The dress was also way too long & was impossible for me to walk in it without tripping. I had to have my planner pin the bottom on my wedding day so I could actually walk/ dance which made for some interesting photos. We were rushed in & out the door at the last fitting she squeezed us in for, so there was no time left for any fixes. We made it work because we had to, but the entire experience with this store left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth (me, my mom, mother in law, sister, ect.). My issue isn’t even the mistakes (because it happens & you deal with it) but the attitude & having 0 time left for adjustments needed was really unfortunate. The bride should have a fitting with full dress done much sooner than 3 days before the wedding.. for this reason. Management also does not seem to care about your experience- my mom complained and was told they’d call her back weeks ago but she never received a call. Planning a wedding is stressful enough as is, so you don’t want to have to go through all of this additional stress on top of it all.

ad tried on over 100 wedding dresses and just could not find "the one." I was able to show Amanda my favorites and she went through the store and tailored her selections based off of that. Every dress she brought had a feature that I was looking for. Additionally, I appreciated the price transparency as I found in other stores I would feel pressured to make purchases so that the staff could get commission. While Amanda made sure that the dresses she gave me were within budget, she was always transparent on the price of the dress and never tried to sell me on something out of that range. Overall I am so grateful I decided to come into this store and I have full trust in Amanda in meeting all my wedding dreams come true. I highly recommend this store to any soon-to-be bride!

Other than that she just said she'd go find some dresses and we would go through an 'elimination process' almost like a bracket where I had to choose between two basically after every dress I tried on without much time to think about it. My party and I also started looking around for dresses (we were never told we couldn't). Then while I was in the dressing room with the bridal attendant she informed me it wasn't allowed (but, again, this was not mentioned to us) so I had to go out and inform everyone instead of her telling us. I found a dress I liked but then we found out it didn't come in the color I wanted so then I felt like I was being pushed to a dress that I said I didn't love as much but in that color. Overall, not a great experience and did not feel helped at all. Felt like the primary goal was to get a dress sold to me and not find my dream dress.

Amanda Ritchey had a wide range of dresses and styles, which was especially helpful when I wanted to try on dresses again that I had seen and thought might fit the bill. Sara especially was incredibly helpful, pulling dresses and intuiting what I might be interested in. When I came in a second time to try on two dresses that I was intrigued by and shared an idea of a third, Sara found the one. I didn't cry or anything like that but as soon as I put it on, there was definitely a "Oh. Yes. This."
And then when COVID happened and my wedding was pushed back a year and my dress came in, I got to try it on again. Yup, still, "This." And then when it finally came time to take my dress home, I loved it just as much as I did the first time I tried it on.
Amanda Ritchey was so helpful and their wide offerings was exactly what I needed to find the dress that made me feel most like me, but elevated. Thank you! (Pictures to come.)

ntment was my first alterations appointment April 24. I left in tears. Not only were the alterations more than half the cost of the dress- I was not consulted on any of them. Anne decided on a five point bustle- never asking me. She marked the hem and when I asked was she just cutting the appliqués- I was told that was the only thing to do with them. Chopping them off changes the look of the dress- when we ordered it she knew it would need to be hemmed but never mentioned that they would just cut them. I had to ask if she was adjusting the busy area she said no. I had to show her I could put my hand in the cup for it to be addressed. I also asked about how the back fit as I did not like the fit. I was just flat out told there was nothing that could be done. The sample dress did not pose the same issue in the back but clearly o should have just been fine with spending $1300 on a dress and hating the fit. I went 2 months without hearing anything. I finally called The end of June (a little more than a month before my wedding) to find out what was up. I found out my alterations were not even done and I highly suspect not even started. I was given the option of an appointment on July 14 or July 21– my wedding was July 28 in Gettysburg. We went on the 14th. It fit. The back still didn’t fit how I wanted. On our wedding day we did pictures before the ceremony… by the ceremony I had strings hanging from the front of dress where the appliqués were just cut, not serged or sealed to keep them from unraveling. We had to cut them of because they were long enough that they were getting stepped on. By the end of the reception bustle loops had pulled through, it seemed that some were only in the tulle layers. And my feet and toes were being constantly wrapped in thread. The satin layer that was serged was not done well and was coming completely apart. Definitely not what I expected for almost $900 in alterations.

's was a complete 180! I loved that rather than just receiving attention from a designated stylists, was helped by Anne, Amanda, and another woman whose name I didn't catch. They helped me get into the dresses and clip me into them, which was a problem for me at another store. Unlike many other stores, they actually had samples that were in my size or too big for me, which made the process SO much more fun (who likes always worrying about your butt breaking the dress? no one!). When I found the dress I loved, I really appreciated that the consultants all gave their feedback rather than just being a neutral party. I did need to sleep on it, and they were super supportive of that. I came in the next day and they all remembered me by name, which made me feel like so much more than just a sale! I'm so excited to continue working with them as my dress comes in :)

beautiful. For me, it was honestly the consultant I had that made it such an awkward experience. I can't remember her name, but she did not seem like she wanted to be there. She made a face when I told her I was hoping to stay under $1400, knowing I had room to go up in cost if needed. She put me in dresses that had pieces I specifically said I didn't want or like, and didn't wait to ask how I felt in them before opening the door and guiding me out to show my guests. After the 4th dress she told me 'Well, I don't have anything else to show you'. I tried to help her out by asking if there were other dresses she had in mind that she wasn't pulling due to my price range, and that I'd be willing to see some that were a little higher if they were what I was looking for - she very flatly said 'No, the next closest one is at 2K and they just go up from there'. We were in and out of the salon in 28 minutes. It was the most uncomfortable shopping experience I've ever had, and my guests felt the weird tension as well. My recommendation for the store would be to talk with your staff to ensure they're giving all of your brides the best appointment they can offer.

d they made me feel extremely comfortable while I was in the process of trying on dresses. After ordering my dress and veil, they were very prompt in contacting me once my veil had arrived.
However, things went downhill after that. They informed me that my dress would be available to try on in January once it came in. The middle of January came and I had to reach out to them to find out if my dress had arrived. At first I was told that it had not, later to be informed that it was a mistake and it had in fact arrived at their salon.
I made an appointment to try on my dress thinking that it would be at the Fallston location. WRONG. They completely closed down the Fallston location without informing me in any way that they are now exclusively located in their Parkville location. So I drove all the way up to Fallston for my appointment only to have to turn around and drive back to Parkville. They also failed to ask me if I wanted to schedule any alterations once I finally had the chance to try on my dress.
6 weeks out from my wedding I once again had to contact them to ask when they would suggest starting alterations. Their seamstress, Anne, said she only could give me 20 minutes for my first fitting with her. WHAT??!! Anne consistently had an attitude when I spoke with her, which there is absolutely no need for EVER. Thankfully I decided to go elsewhere for alterations and had a much better experience with a different seamstress.
Overall, I would recommend them for their intial customer service. But be prepared to stay on top of them and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR ALTERATIONS.

, I did go back for accessories. AR was the ONLY bridal salon I visited that treated me like gold even though I hadn't purchased my gown from them. The consultant, Ann(e), was phenomenal! She helped me into my gown, let me try on as many veils as I wanted, took photos for me, and made sure the customization to my veil could be done on a pretty quick turn around time. Most other bridal salons only had 5-10 veils in-store to even try on, but AR had easily 30+! It was SO nice to have options to try on with my custom gown and not just try to pick from a book. I purchased my veil and petticoat from AR and wish I could get married all over again just to give them more business! Highly, highly recommend Amanda Ritchey Bridal and Ann(e)!

Their seamstress Ann was AMAZING to work with! Not only did she do an amazing job with the hem and bustle, but she had great ideas and input when it came to my other details - helping me pick the perfect color for my shawl, offering tips and tricks to getting in and out of the dress, and just being overall completely sweet. The shop itself is gorgeous and the girls at the front desk were always very welcoming and kind whenever we came in.

I was so happy with this shop that even my 74 yr old mother ended up buying her mother of the bride dress at the second shop in Fallston and was also thrilled. l less then 24 hours before the wedding. Unfortunately the tuxedo was way to small. It was like 2 sizes to small. There was no time to correct this problem. Amanda said as a consumer that it was our fault. She said they have no control as to when the tuxedos get shipped to their store. Then dont tell a bride that you will have them on tuesday if thats not true. Their customer service sucks. They have no problem taking your money and not delivering the product when promised. a hard time finding what I was looking for (which wasn't even that difficult- I just didn't want strapless or my back completely bare and open). As soon as we walked into Amanda Ritchey, the whole experience of the day changed. It was exactly what I imagined a bridal salon experience would be! Megan sat down with me and asked me about my day and what I liked and didn't like about all the dresses I had tried on today. She immediately pulled several dresses and took me into a really large changing room with mirrors (the first place I'd been to that had mirrors in their room so I could finally see myself before walking out!) Every dress Megan pulled out was even better than the last one she pulled out. Finally! I felt like I was going to start having trouble picking one dress because she gave me so many wonderful options. I found my perfect dress at Amanda Ritchey and am so appreciative of the experience Megan provided me. rs and fit. We wanted SLIM fit, modern looking suits for our groomsmen. When we finally went to pick up the suits, 5 out of the 6 suits we rented had a piece that didn't fit correctly, and the pants were anything but slim. When I asked the girl at the front desk why they looked this way, she said "you need to pull them up much higher than normal" which we tried, but that did nothing to change the fit around the lower leg and ankle. This girl at the front desk was also extremely rude to some of the groomsmen. For example, my brother's pants, shirt and jacket did not fit when we went to pick up the suit. When we asked to get bigger sizes, she went into the dressing room, checked the fit and said "well, did you gain weight?!" I was really taken aback by how blunt and rude she was. And with only 3 days until our wedding, which is when the suits came in for pick up, we had no other option but to go with suits that were not flattering and were not the look we were going for. . We just received our wedding photos and looking at all the groomsmen suits, I really think it's laughable how these are described as "slim fit" suits.

I will say that alterations at Amanda Ritchey are a bit pricey. You also have to take the seamstress with a grain of salt. She is older and set in her ways, very adamant about what can/can't be done to dresses. But if you keep pushing, she'll usually end up being able to do what you want. You just have to tell her what you want and stick to it.

know when your dress was ready. I felt like my dress was still big when I picked it up but Ann assured me that's the proper fit. She was wrong it looked awful in my photos showing bunching and gaping in the bust area. When texted her with concern she had no care at all. I got a fit to flare and when I would pull it up to adjust it the band which was spossed to fit snug on the hip came up on my butt which is not how it should fit and the 47 dollars I had to pay for cups did not do anything since the dress was big. I'm highly disappointed Ann did not take more time to properly fit my dress to where it fit like a glove along with letting me know when my dress was ready. As ladies we dream of this day and want to look amazing and all this money spent on the dress and alterations was very disappointing to see my worst fear in reflection of the photos. I knew when I had my final fitting two days before it wasn't taken serious and shown care, just covered with excuses that changed from the first fitting to the last when I expressed what I hoped she would fix with me addressing what I saw. Such a shame.

r. I was helped by Amanda (store employee), and she was amazing! Two things particularly impressed. First was that she never had to ask my dress size. I was a size 14 at the time, and I was worried about feeling fat in everything, since that was ,y first experience. Amanda was able to guess my size very accurately and I felt beautiful in everything I tried on. The second major kudos was that after I told her my budget, so subtly asked my mom about the flexibility in budget. She asked that we only saw things within our price point and if I didn't like anything, then we could look outside it. She was very respectful of that--I ended up with a gorgeous dress a mere $50 over budget. She allowed me to come back several times to try on my dress once it arrived (as I was losing weight) and was also so helpful. She even noticed I had lost weight without me even telling her. Amanda Ritchey herself is also wonderful. She was always involved when she was at the shop when I was. She even insisted on going over dress care and caring it out to my car the day I picked up. Truly a fantastic local business to support--and that will support you back!

I left that day wanting to check out some more options at big name stores and I couldn't stop dreaming of that dress. Several weeks later I returned to re-try the dress but found out they had moved it to their Belair Rd location. Totally apologetic that they didn't have my dress, I was practically escorted to the other location by Amanda Ritchey herself. She then ran my entire appointment and helped me finally say yes to the dress!!! I absolutely love this store and cant wait for my dress to arrive. I ended up coming back to buy the dress and got my alterations there as well. I did not need much done to the dress but was very happy with it. Ann was very flexible and easy to work with. end! She was such a pleasure to work with. I don’t want to take anything away from the rest of the staff, because each of them were just as awesome! We had our alternations done at the Parkville store with Nancy who is an AMAZING seamstress. My gown has very intricate lace detail at the bottom, but you couldn’t even tell it was altered! All of the staff at the Parkville store were just as wonderful and helpful as the Fallston staff. It’s very evident everyone really enjoys their job. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I also had Amanda Ritchey do the girls’ make up. There were 9 of us total and every one of us looked fabulous! No one looked unnatural! Amanda is such a joy to work with. She made me feel very relaxed on my wedding day. I cannot thank Amanda enough for everything!
