We TOOK HER TO COURT, and she owes us ~$7,000.
If we could give one piece of advice to engagement couples it would be to NOT book Amara.
She had multiple breaches of contract l...
eading up to our wedding including ghosting us (like many other couple’s reviews) for 3.5 months, she couldn’t do any of the basic things you would expect from a photographer (reply to an email, pre-wedding timeline & consultation calls, etc.) and she didn’t provide the Certificate of Insurance 30 days before the wedding.
Thanks to the warnings from the other reviews, we terminated our agreement a month before our wedding before we gave her any more money.
She is absolutely a FRAUD and couldn’t be happier to have gotten rid of her before our wedding day
• Pro tip – If you are in a contract with her – ask her for her insurance coverage and when she doesn’t provide that (because she was too busy defrauding you/others and because she likely doesn’t have insurance) – she is officially in breach of contract
A child pretending to be a wedding photographer.
Amara is a child that does not know how to run a business or provide a service. She likes the idea of being a wedding photographe...
r but does not have the work ethic, communication, punctuality, integrity or customer focus to be one. She will talk the talk after you first meet with her, but once you pay, the issues begin.
She did not deliver the engagement photos until weeks after the due date, leaving us emailing and calling her with no response. When she finally responded, there was some excuse or the other. Our experience was already tainted, but at this point we had already prepaid and hoped that we would go through the wedding and get our photos and albums as agreed. As of writing, it's been six (6) months after the due date of our wedding albums, and she has not delivered them. Even worse, the digital album she uploaded to her site for review, showed no sign that she had taken the time to put an album together and was clearly cobbled together in five minutes. My wife and I had to redo her work and then resubmit the album to her to print, which she still has not done and not provided a refund either.
Buyer beware. Amara is borderline fraudulent, and she will unfortunately taint your entire wedding photography experience.
If I could give zero stars for the horrible experience that is working with Amara I would. Besides the horrendous communication which is in fact NO communication from Amara after p...
aying, she is also running a FRAUDULENT business, failing to deliver on thousands of dollars worth of wedding albums for us and MANY more of her clients. Amara paints herself to be someone that she can not uphold to, she will pretend to be responsive until you pay and then will go months prior to and post wedding without answering a single message. We have felt like we have been robbed of the experience and we have in fact been robbed of THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OF MONEY with no printed wedding album in return.
While Amara can capture a nice photo, she should not be recognized by any publication for the terrible nature that she treats all of her clients. We are one of at least 5 couples with this same experience. Most people are not leaving reviews because they are still living in hopes that they will receive the product that they have paid for- she has no intention of doing this. DO NOT RECOMMEND
When we booked her, she was so impressive but after working with her she showed us that she was all talk. Amara ghosted us for 3+ month leading up to our engagement shoot, which le...
d us to emailing her again and again until a week before, she apologized for it which we forgave. Leading up to our wedding, she was also uncommunicative. The day of the wedding, she was great however, after has been a total NIGHTMARE. She went radio silent for months. We did not receive any deliverables on time. Our next day previews which the contract states we should have gotten, came 2 weeks later. Our album and prints AS LEGALLY CONTRACTED did not come in January as stated. It’s May and we still have not received it and Amara did not apologize nor even reply to our many many emails, calls, texts. We were fearful that she ran away with our money. I had to contact other clients who informed me of their same ongoing experience. Beautiful pictures, 0 professionalism, 0 communication. The distress is not worth the photos. After a phone call, in which Amara did not apologize for any contract breaches nor distress rather, blamed us, she then blocked us on all social media. The immaturity and regret I feel is innumerable. I don’t even have hope of getting our wedding album at this point- she presents as someone she cannot live up to.
Editing this previous 5 star review - Amara was professional day of, and took the most beautiful photos. Unfortunately communication post-wedding has been abysmal. We had to chase ...
her for our previews; she subsequently breached contract by failing to deliver the remainder of our pictures and album within her outlined 16 weeks with no response to emails or text.
