, I also had a somewhat negative experience with her. It was like pulling teeth to get her to communicate with me or set a time to talk to me on the phone about the wedding. I reached out several times starting a few months before the wedding, unable to schedule a phone call. I was getting nervous about this lack of communication at about a month before the wedding, since I had literally spoken with all my other vendors several times by that point, but not her. I was finally able to get her on the phone 10 days before the wedding. It was a constructive phone call, went over what I wanted, shared with her the link to the list of photos that I had in a google sheet (that I said wouldn't be finalized until a few days before), etc. Great I thought! Literally the day before my wedding at 6am, I get a text from her saying that she had a family emergency (death in family) and was flying to Florida, but that she hired her "good friend" Alison last minute to fill in for her. She gave me her number and said Alison would be capturing the wedding, but that she would be the one to edit them. I wanted to be frustrated, but how could I be? Things happen in life. Roll with the punches. So I obviously immediately contact Alison. Alison tells me that Amberlyn hired her over a week ago (the day after we spoke) and that she was basically on call. Amberlyn of course did not tell me this at all. Upon speaking with Alison, it sounds like Amberlyn basically posted on some photographer group that she needed a back up and Alison volunteered. I was frustrated at that point to say the least. We do the wedding, Alison is great and friendly. We don't hear anything from Amberlyn for two weeks, so I reach out. She says she just started working on the photos (totally understandable) and that would get me some sneak peaks soon. 23 days after the wedding I get some sneaks. 6 weeks after the wedding, got the full folder. Texted Amberlyn thanks, no response. The pictures are... ok. My husband and parents think I'm being overly critical for the record so you should know that. But it just feels funny having photos that were taken by someone else, and edited by the person who wasn't there and didn't know the important moments or how the wedding felt. I thought the photo package was for 250 photos, but when I downloaded them we were about 10 short. I'm not trying to be petty about that part. But it just makes me wonder, were there not even enough good photos to edit for us? What the heck was the photographer doing for 6 hours if we couldn't even get enough photos? Anyways, she was fine, hence the 3 stars and not 1. But I will not be recommending her to anyone.
