ing in the cabins and having our friends and family rent out RV spaces, platform tents, and nearby airbnbs. It was so great to spread out the festivities across a few days, and it allowed us to truly spend time with each of our guests. Not to mention that the view of the American River and the atmosphere there is so perfect for a wedding weekend. There are several beautiful locations to pick from for your ceremony, and the event center snugly (but comfortably) fit our 100-person guest count. Arnie was so awesome to work with, and all of the staff were so friendly, making our wedding weekend even more fun and special! My only word of caution is to pick a date that will be comfortable weather-wise. Ours was a little bit hot, but of course that had nothing to do with the venue itself (and it was nothing that the cool evening or a dip in the river couldn't fix, and certainly did not stop us from having a wonderful wedding!)
It is true that you do not have good cell service at the resort if you are not near the event center/front office. I suggest having a good communication plan, and to use walkie-talkies for day of coordination. If you are the type of people who like to be unplugged and spend quality time with your loved ones surrounded by nature, then I think this venue can work for you despite some planning required to get around the lack of cell service!

ing is beautiful. Downfalls, no cell reception, and it can be hard to be in the same place at the same time with the staff. They always do respond promptly to messages left and are ALWAYS helpful and friendly.
We held our wedding reception at the American River Resort, as well as cabin rentals for our bridal party and wedding night. We were able to use the gorgeous (wood floors, stone f...
ireplace) hall for all of Saturday with time to set up and clean up on Sunday. So we didn't have to deal with doing any clean up the night of or set up the morning of. It was WONDERFUL!
The people there kept checking in with us to see if we needed anything. The cabins are wonderful and spacious. We had a boys cabin and a girls cabin the night before the wedding - so we had quite a few people in each one and we had plenty of space and a kitchen with fridge, microwave, and stove top.
I would highly recommend American River Resort
