About this vendor
Welcome to American Stems!
Nestled in the charming seaside town of Harwich Port, MA, American Stems is a boutique floral design studio where blooms get the royal treatment—and every petal has a purpose. We specialize in bespoke wedding design and floral artistry, but really, we’re just out here living our best flower-filled lives.
Our founder and head designer, Kelsey Harris, launched AS in 2018 after spending time on a specialty cut flower farm in central Massachusetts. With her hands in the dirt and her heart in full bloom, Kelsey discovered her superpower: transforming nature’s finest into floral magic.
Our design style? Think warm, wild, and wonderfully unexpected. Our designs are all about sparking conversations, creating soulful moments, and reminding you to stop and smell the roses—or at least admire the ranunculus!
We’re proud to source from local farmers, embrace nature’s bounty, and design with an intentional, "why-not-throw-in-one-more" variety. From Cape Cod to The Islands and beyond, Kelsey and her talented team are ready to bring your floral dreams to life, one lovingly placed petal at a time.
So, whether you're getting married, throwing a party, or just need a little floral pick-me-up, we’ve got you. And trust us—our flowers have a way of making every day feel like a celebration.

I cannot recommend American Stems enough! Kelsey’s artistry for our wedding at Wequassett Resort was absolutely stunning—whimsical, romantic, and perfectly Cape Cod. She incorporat...
ed the classic hydrangea feel we wanted while adding so much beautiful texture and character to every arrangement.
Even with our intimate wedding of 30 guests, American Stems filled the tables so beautifully and made the entire space feel incredibly special. Kelsey is an absolute joy to work with, and her darling shop in Harwich Port is just as lovely as she is. Our flowers were truly one of my favorite details of the day!
I was recommended American Stems and immidiately knew these florals would be perfect for our Cape Cod wedding. Kelsey was extremely professional and helpful throughout the entire p...
rocess. I was originally indecisive on my vision and Kelsey was knowledgeable, informative and assisted with visuals to make everything super easy for me. I was so happy to see how everything came together on our special day. If I had any questions, I knew I did not have to worry about anything because of how responsive Kelsey was. She is amazing at what she does and her & her team were nothing short of perfect on the day of. This business’s florals are stunning and I could not recommend American Stems enough!
From the moment I saw Kelsey’s floral designs and hopped on the phone with her, I knew she would be the perfect florist for my wedding. I wanted flowers that were artful, fun, and ...
organic and no one does that better than Kelsey and her team! Not only does Kelsey have an amazing eye for floral design but as my own wedding planner, I really appreciated how thoughtful and detail oriented she was when discussing my vision with her. Even on the first call which was about 2 years before our wedding date, Kelsey was actively listening to me and asking questions to get a strong sense of what I liked and disliked to make sure I was comfortable with all elements of the design. I ended up changing my color theme multiple times (and definitely too close to my wedding date) and Kelsey was able to pivot so graciously. She was also responsive in helping us decide what plates and linens would go best with the florals which was such a big help since we didn’t have a planner. At the wedding, guests kept commenting on how amazing the flowers were and my photographer also said how much she loved them. I can’t thank Kelsey and her team enough and wish I could have another wedding just to book them again!
I can’t say enough wonderful things about American Stems – working with Kelsey was a dream! From our initial consultation and throughout the whole process, she truly understood our...
vision and brought it to life in the most beautiful way. I didn't have a specific idea for my flowers or décor other than wanting a few colors and an organic/ beachy aesthetic, and she exceeded all expectations. The ceremony flowers were breathtaking and seeing them for the first time as I walked down the aisle was one of the highlights of my day. My bouquet could not have been more beautiful, and the bridesmaids’ bouquets were stunning and so unique. Our reception was in the ballroom at Ocean Edge, and I totally relied on Kelsey’s expertise to help soften the space. In addition to our flowers, Kelsey also designed the tablescapes. The garden inspired floral arrangements combined with candles, driftwood and shells transformed the room from a corporate ballroom to a cozy, beachside dinner party setting. She also came up with the idea to use oyster shell candles – which I loved and surprised us with a beautiful arrangement in front of the band stand! Truly went above and beyond. I received so many compliments on the florals and tables. Kelsey is super responsive, easy to chat with and run ideas by, cognizant of budget and SO talented. We are so grateful for American Stems - highly recommend!!!
Kelsey and her team did a BEAUTIFUL job with our wedding! We got married at the Lighthouse Inn in West Dennis, which has a very classic Cape Cod aesthetic. That being said, it need...
ed some TLC to enhance the space - and that is where American Stems came in. I really know nothing about flowers and didn't have a specific preference, but Kelsey asked a lot of questions about my vision and color scheme and was able to take creative control over the florals. Second to the venue, this is where we spent the most money and it was WORTH it. She put together a proposal packet with visuals which was really helpful when planning. The day of the wedding, I was absolutely stunned by the beauty of it all. We infused lots of greenery and muted pinks and yellows to contrast the blue/green floor. We also opted for smaller bud vases for a cozy & more casual feel. She provided flowers for my naked cake as well. In speaking with her, she told me a bit about her sustainable practices and I really love that nothing goes to waste! Kelsey is truly talented and incredible, I would highly recommend her!
Can not imagine having used and trusted anyone else. When I first spoke to Kelsey, I didn't have a specific vision or color scheme in mind - the only thing I knew was that I wanted...
some sort of overhang floral chandelier moment. Kelsey was incredibly helpful and thoughtful in helping me curate my vision, then executing that vision beyond expectation! A few of my guests even snuck out from cocktail hour to go back and take pictures with the ceremony installation :) Then, of course, you can't forget us throwing in a game time decision to switch up our reception spot due to weather... Kelsey was well-prepped to pivot and made the space look like it was Plan A all along. I am so thankful we made the choice the work with Kelsey, and would highly recommend her to any of my friends!

d out and more. We didn’t even have a color scheme when we talked to her, but Kelsey was the one who suggested sunset tones — a choice that looked stunning the day-of and anchored the rest of our aesthetic choices in a way that paid off in spades.
We knew Kelsey was the vendor for us immediately after we got off the phone with her. She is flexible, accommodating, responsive, honest about what looks good (even if it might be the less expensive option), and completely willing to work within budget. We were blown away when we saw our florals on the day of the wedding, and our guests said they had never seen anything like it. We are so grateful for Kelsey and would recommend her to anyone without any reservation.

ty of the Cape while adding some bright sunset colors. Kelsey worked closely with us to craft the perfect vibe - we both work in food so she used things like tomato vines and herbs throughout bouquets which was such a thoughtful touch. The bright dahlias were stunning, she really took our loose vision and brought it to life. I remember admiring my bouquet the whole day after our wedding, I couldn't get over it!

ore perfect! Kelsey had an extensive undertaking with the amount of floral's I was looking for. She personally hand crafted center pieces for our guest tables & accent pieces for the welcome & desert tables, along with bouquets, boutonnieres & personals for our VERY large wedding party & special guests. Every piece was unique, while maintaining consistent with the overall vision. Kelsey beautifully wrapped our birch arbor with flowing linen & a sprawling collection of my favorite flowers & lined our aisle with low, wild arrangements that literally looked like they were growing right out of the ground! My bouquet was so beautiful, free & special - she even took care of my moms secret request & attached 3 small lockets to my bouquet containing photos of my mom & grandmothers on their wedding days. It was such a sweet surprise - I have my bouquet dried & hanging in my office - I smile every time I see it! I can't express enough how much I appreciate the hard work and passion Kelsey puts in to her work. She is super laid back while remaining timely & professional. You will not regret trusting Kelsey with bringing the beauty on your big day!
Kelsey took my vision for my wedding and made it reality! Her talent is truly one of a kind! I put my full trust in her and was not disappointed. I couldn’t be happier!
