American Wedding Gown Specialists is a leading expert in the cleaning and preservation of wedding gowns. Our team of Certified Master Cleaners has decades of combined experience – your dress is in good hands!
Preservation protects your gown from exposure to light and air. Choosing not to preserve your wedding dress increases the likelihood of yellowed fabric, brown spots, mold/mildew and permanent creases or tears in the fabric. Don’t take the risk!
Our Process
Wedding Dress Preservation and standard dry cleaning are not the same. Wedding day spills such as soda, wine and cake can dry without leaving a mark, but these sugary stains, which are not dissolved during ordinary dry cleaning, will caramelize into brown spots. Did we mention sweat, makeup and hemline dirt? No problem! After your wedding, we’ll clean your gown and take extra steps to remove all stains – even the ones you can’t see.
Our cleaning process is environmentally friendly and our preservations are carbon neural. We use the most innovative, all natural products and continuously train our staff in order to ensure that we have the most up-to-date practices.
After cleaning, we personally inspect your gown before it is carefully layered with acid-free tissue and preserved in a specialty wedding chest for a lovely keepsake!
Going beyond the gown, we offer preservation of additional items such as a veil, purse, garter, and shoes, creating a collection of wedding day mementos.
Our guarantee includes free correction of discoloration, as well as free pressing for future use. If you pass your gown on to a friend or relative, any member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists will press it before use.

I was recommended Marianna at American Cleaners by the seamstress who did my wedding dress alterations. I love that American Cleaners takes care of cleaning AND preserving your dress! They were so easy to work with the whole process. I dropped off my dress a week after my wedding and within a month my dress was ready to pick up! It came preserved in a beautiful white box with additional plastic lining around the box. My dress was not very full, and the box is the perfect size to store in my closet. Payment was very smooth as well. I would highly recommend for wedding dress cleaning and preservation!
I did my research and explored many options about how to clean and preserve my wedding dress. I chose American Wedding Gown Specialists after speaking with Marianna, understanding the process and what makes them different from all others. After completing the initial forms, we moved the process along and in just 3 weeks I had my dress returned to me via UPS in a stunning box and certificate of authenticity. Highly recommend!

The initial service to set up shipping my wedding gown and veil to the company for preservation was very easy. I sent it off and received confirmation that it was ready to be returned within 4 weeks. However it has now been 8 weeks and I still have not received my gown back. I continue to email and call the shop and keep getting excuses (some one out sick, they won't ship over weekends, its a holiday) for why they have not returned it. They have already completed the payment but simply will not send me my dress back.

I was hesitant to have my dress preserved after several years passed since my wedding, but finally decided to go forward with it. I was very happy to come across American Wedding Gown Specialists. I worked with Marianna directly and she was very accommodating based on my circumstances. My wedding was over 6 years ago, and my dress had significant mud on the bottom from my outdoor wedding. When I received my gown, I was so excited because the mud stains were completely removed! Also, Marianna included my veil and sash to be preserved with my gown. I also worked with Kris directly to have my gown shipped back to me. I received my gown promptly and in such great condition. I would highly recommend American Wedding Gown Specialists for preserving your wedding gown!
My daughter was married in our back yard because of Covid. Who knew we had a tree that dropped what looked like blueberries!
Well, her dress found them all! Knowing we would have another ceremony with our friends and family a year later we were concerned about the dress getting cleaned!
Well, I searched many cleaners and American Wedding Gown Specialist was above and beyond my expectations! Every blue mark came off the dress due to their expertise care! Her 2nd ceremony was beautiful and special! We brought the dress back and had it cleaned and preserved this time! Thank you Marianna for working with us during this crazy time!!

America Wedding Gown Specialists did an amazing job cleaning and preserving my wedding gown! They were recommended to me by the woman who did my alterations. They were so easy to work with and have excellent customer service. The best part is they arrange to pick your dress up from your home and deliver the finished product to your doorstep!! This could not have been easier and I couldn’t be happier with the finished product. Highly recommend!

Despite being obsessed with wedding gowns, I hadn't given too much thought to preserving mine, since I'm a COVID bride and still in the midst of deciding whether or not I want to have a larger wedding down the road. All that said, I am so glad that my seamstress referred me to American Wedding Gown Specialists. They were able to remove a giant stain that went down the entire left side of my dress that I didn't even know was there, making it so that I can ACTUALLY wear my gown again. Marianna is an absolute gem and a joy to work with. She updated me at every step of the preservation process, and really went above and beyond what I had expected.
We were referred by the seamstress who altered my daughter's wedding gown. We completely trusted her referral & are so glad we did. If we could give mire then 5 stars we would. The gown is boxed exquisitely & completely protected. Marianna & her staff, aside from being a pleasure to deal with, went out of their way to assist us in returning it. We live out of state, 2 hours away, but have a close friend nearer to American Wedding Gown Specialists. They delivered the gown to our friend who then brought it on their next visit to family near us. Thank you so much.
This was a lovely company to work with. Upon communication, I mailed in my daughter's wedding gown for cleaning and preservation. They were prompt and professional, letting me know the dress had been received and the expected time frame to be returned. The dress and train were returned beautifully boxed with a viewing window. The gown had many detailed applications. The bottom was soiled from the winter salt and sand. They made the process completely stress free on my end.
I gave Mariana the seemingly impossible task of restoring my mother's wedding gown which had been stored in an old chest for 84 years. It would have been heart-breaking to throw it out. Mariana took her time and was most helpful in advising me. She was able to restore and clean the gown and recreate the 20-foot veil with tiara and all the original Bakelite flower ornaments. There must have been 50 of them. She packed it all in a windowed display box, and I gave it to my daughter as a keepsake. Considering all the work and professional care, the price was very reasonable, and I was glad to pay it. I highly recommend Mariana and her skills and service. - Michael
I could not be happier with my experience with American Wedding Gown Specialists. I wanted to have my wife's wedding dress cleaned and preserved for our 10 year anniversary. Marianna responded almost immediately and was incredibly detailed, knowledgable, and hospitable. The turn-around time was very quick and the final product is incredible. She and her team even helped me to round out the gift with ideas for other accessories, so I loved my experience with them. Luckily, I live locally, but the whole process could easily have been executed from anywhere in the county. It's too bad that I don't have more wedding dresses to clean and preserve!
My daughters dress had an unbelievable amount of grass stains (among others). I really didn't think they would come out. They had to process the dress several times but it came out looking like new. Then they boxed it so beautifully. They were so friendly and accomodating and nothing fazed them. We were very pleased!
