Ameristar Casino Resort & Spa-Black Hawk

seemed like the nicest hotel in the area so we went with it, big mistake. The individual assigned to our group was rude to our guests, difficult to work with, and very un-accommodating. We then found that the rate they were giving us for the room block was significantly more than that which our guests could find online. Further more, they didn't track any of the guest who used the rate which resulted in us getting a call 2 days before the wedding to inform us that we were in breach of our contract and would owe them for unfilled rooms. We had to scramble to contact guests to figure out who was staying where and if they were staying in the room block. Turns out the mistake was on the hotels part and we had met the numbers all along. They were very apologetic and promised to make everything right.... We arrived on the eve of the rehearsal dinner to find that my room (the bride) the grooms room, and my parents rooms were not available or ready. check in was at 4pm and it was almost 6pm and the rehearsal dinner started at 6:30pm. The would not offer us a place to shower ( We had just set up an outdoor wedding) or change. We finally recieved rooms around 9pm that night. We also held the rehearsal dinner with Ameristar. While the food and service at the dinner were wonderful, planning with them is not. The hotel initially claimed that they did not do events such as ours and made it EXTREMELY difficult for my mother-in-law to coordinate with them. All in all, I would not recommend the Ameristar to anyone. Working with this hotel was definitely the most stressful part of our wedding.

ly a casino town. We got to stay in the best hotel and our room was really nice. The hotel had four places to eat in it (definitely would suggest going to the timberline grill). The spa there was amazing and definitely worth the money. the only thing that was annoying was the fact that my husband and I kept getting stopped in the hotel and being asked to see our id's. Were 23 and 24 so i'm sure we just look young but still it was annoying. I would go back again.....maybe when i'm older ;).

during the reception. Staff was ready7 to help with any need or to answer any inquiry. Wendy Ratkin, wedding coordinator at the Ameristar, was fabulous, helpful, polite, funny, and made sure everything went off without a hitch. The bridal suite is georgeous as well!

joy this amazing pool and hot be there early! They also monitored the pool all night as well which is silly to me it is swim at your own risk anyways. Meals were expensive and un-appetizing. I am glad I had great company and fun casino workers to keep me entertained.
