Positives - Tasting went well, had the food we were looking for, Instagram and website showed good set up and marketing, owner was kind and sweet, until problems. Negatives - After down-payment, no communication until a few weeks before, could be common but I think it led to issues later on. Deposit was done through credit card link and I wanted to use this form again for rest of payment. At this time their CC link wasn't working, they sent their Venmo and said we could use a CC via that avenue. We did, but kept getting a message that we reached our limit, not reflective of our actual limits. The bank, stated the app was pulling from CC cash advanced and not our normal credit line, which was causing us to be charged a *daily* interest rate on those charges. We resolved the issue when owner fixed their CC link and was flexible to return the payments I had already sent via venmo (so I could send back to my CC) - mind you this was 2 days before the wedding (stress). Day of wedding was kind and cared for my husband and I being taken care of. Our planner stated waiters helped turn candles. Appetizers went well. Dinner - had a total of 120 adults (including 10 staff) and 27 kids, a total of 16 tables. By table 11 food was already at bare minimum, mind you a whole entire table did not show + a few guest, which mean their portion should have provided "extras", and food still ran out. The owner, who was working the event, came up to me in panic and stated guests were serving themselves too much. Note, right when dinner was starting, she asked if I wanted guest to serve themselves or staff to serve -I answered, whatever you seem fit. She asked if I wanted to her take care of getting more food and if we could have our late night snack (Dicks burgers) be delivered any earlier. As a bride, this isn't what you want to hear or deal with on your wedding day. Next day, she text a receipt and was asking for reimbursement for the additional food that was bought, which was still insufficient. After cool down days, I requested a refund for a total of 44 adults and 6 kids, which after checking in, the amount of unfed guest was actually a bit higher. The owner didn't respond until she received a bank dispute. She was extremely reactive and argumentative and tried to intimidate/threaten with the fact that she had receipts and tried to justify every little thing. At this point, I had to de-escalate HER to have a productive conversation. I had time to track down details, notes, and even film from the exact moment that all the guest in line for the buffet had to be turned away. We reached an amount for a reimbursement. My wedding was in Nov. I canceled the bank dispute to try to resolve directly with her, showed her bank proof and until Feb she was ignorantly under the impression that I had refund funds from Venmo (because they pulled from her account). I showed proof over and over that this wasn't true and in the end, she never provided any refund. She tried to resolve with Venmo, my bank backed me up and had proof of charges I paid etc. Text, pics, and video of proof.
