Hi there, we are Frannie + Nichole of Ampersand Studios! We are both Boise natives, and have been photographing weddings in the area since 2009.
Our style has been defined as light + airy, classic, and candid. We love to watch for raw and authentic body language and reactions from our couples to best tell the story of their love and their favorite day.

I have known of Frannie of Ampersand Studios since 2011 as she was the photographer for my cousin's wedding that year. For that particular wedding I had been a bridesmaid, and I remember seeing the photos from the event and feeling so amazed, instantly falling in love with her work. As I sat at the computer scrolling through the numerous wedding albums on her website, I remember thinking: I really want her to photograph my own wedding one day.
Fast forward eight years later, my husband and I told our planner that we wanted Frannie of Ampersand Studios for our May 2019 wedding. Frannie is, above all, a professional, but she is also a creative artist. Watching her work is a delight in and of itself for she comes fully equipped and prepared, coming up with shots and angles that any given couple would have never thought of. Her creativity is absolutely boundless, all my husband and I had to do was follow her instructions and look pretty. After the family photo session, my mother-in-law was amazed at her efficiency, saying she has never seen family photos go so fast and turn out so impressive. She is quick, organized, and thorough; an absolute master of her craft.
Even when we had a last minute venue change for our reception due to incremental weather, Frannie looked at the change as a great opportunity for beautiful rainy day pictures. I cannot express how I felt as a very stressed out bride to have a photographer excited for rain. When she assured me that the pictures would be all the more beautiful because of the gloomy weather, I was more at ease and trusted her expertise.
The moment I was granted a sneak peak of our wedding photos, I could not help but bawl my eyes out. Frannie captured the whimsical romance of that very special day, and granted my husband and I a treasure trove of memories we can forever share. Thank you a million times over Frannie!! You are truly amazing and such a genuine person!
Amazing photographers!! My now husband and I had never had professional photos taken, and not only did Franny make us feel at ease, she captured amazing moments with such a personal and artistic touch. I can't stop looking at the wedding photos, they are absolutely amazing and the film pictures are gorgeous! Thanks to Ampersand for capturing the day so perfectly and artisiclly!!
Our wedding planner recommended Ampersand, and we were sold after looking at their portfolio. My husband and I hate having our photos taken, but Nichole made everything a breeze. She was amazing to work with- she made us feel relaxed and created a safe, fun atmosphere for our wedding photos. Even more impressive, she had a gift with children and got them all laughing and smiling for photos! Just book with them; you won't regret it!
Frannie and Nichole are great. Not only are their photographs beautiful but their personalities are so easy and comfortable to work with.
It's been over 2 weeks since I was married and I have only seen 1 sneak peek photo from the wedding but if they are anything like the Engagement Photos (which were included in the price of the package), I know they will be beautiful.
I thought their prices were kind of high for the Boise area but compared to other vendors, their quality to value ratio is right on par.
These ladies are good at getting people in place, they were fast but captured everything I wanted.
These photos turned out so beautiful. I would have loved to have spent hours just getting my photos taken because Nichole and Frannie truly made me feel like a super model.
The product options are a little expensive but if it means I get to work with Ampersand I will gladly spend plus they give you a disc with all your photos.
The girls at Ampersand were amazing. They made me and everyone feel so comfortable around the camera. We had a photobooth and that was a huge success and everyone had so much fun. I love their photo-editing!! So romantic, fresh and bright photos!!! I would recommend them to everyone I know who is getting married! I will be using them in the future as well for maternity, baby, family pics!
Our photographers did our engagement session, our invites, and our wedding photography. They did such a great job. The entire day was captured and all of our pictures look great! We also got an album credit and print credit included in our package which is nice.
Ampersand studios was the photographer at my wedding. They did a fabulous job! I loved how they included a photo boot in the package as well. Everyone had so much fun with that feature! They were very easy to work with and flexible. I love their style of photography and am excited to share my photos for years to come : )
One of the most standout vendors we had for our wedding. These ladies are extremely hard workers and went out of their way to do a fabulous job. We LOVED our photos! They were fun to work with and went out of their way to correct a couple of little problems that popped up. We used them for invitations too and they did a tremendous job. Very talented. A very good value. We will definitely be using them again and have no hesitation recommending them!
These girls are amazing! They have so creative and always working to get the perfect shot. They come with energy, professionalism, and a love for what they do. They are great at making everyone feel comfortable.
Ampersand Studios were amazing!! They bent over backwards to work with my budget and needs! They did our save the dates, invitations, and all photos! They truly went above and beyond! They were affordable and their quality was amazing! You must check them out, they also have the option for a photo booth at your reception which my guest absolutely loved!
It was great to work with Ampersand through designing our invitations, engagement shoot, and the wedding.
There was a bit of disorganization during the wedding so I would recommend writing out a list of all of the photos/ pairings that you want for sure to give them some guidance so they can set their time line to take advantage of the time you have.
The photos turned out amazing and they had an eye for the small details that made some of the photos look absolutely amazing!
