We had the most incredible wedding in August and the one thing that continually stands out is how amazing Ariel was as a person and as a photographer. One comment that we still keep hearing from our friends and family, is how our pictures did not just capture the important memories but the emotion and mood of the whole evening. She really has a gift. My now father in law was so impressed with how one photographer was so subtle in her presence and yet captured such detail and depth in her pictures. We often find ourselves looking at the photos and every time feel we are back in that moment. They are truly brilliant. During the ceremony and reception, many of our guests asked if we even had photographers - that is how good they were at fading into the background. Ariel was a pleasure to work with. She’s got a great eye for amazing photos, and she’s got great ideas if you do happen to run out of any ideas. She was very accommodating, she had showed us our phots very quickly, and honestly she took some of the best photos we’ve ever taken.

I enjoyed that they are a couple, so they are thinking similarly. She and Matt would literally climb a mountain to get a good picture. Ariel was amazing!! We used her for our engagement photos and she was incredible from start to finish, starting with driving to DC for a 5am start! Ariel calmed our nerves, made the process feel natural, knew exactly where to place us for the best shots, and even showed us a few along the way. My husband's from NC and I'm from CA and we wanted to shoot our engagement and post-wedding in his home state since our wedding was in CA. They loved exploring and adventure as we do! and we were able to find the coolest spots to shoot with the perfect lighting. If I chose anything perfectly for my wedding, it was Ariel. Our wedding was outside in the middle of the summer along a creek (and was very hot) -- she was early, she is incredibly outgoing and great with all ages of people (aka herding cats) and she did the whole shoot on her own while pregnant. I have never been so impressed with someone. I had to worry about nothing. The images are AMAZING. As in, stunning. She is one of the most gifted photographers I have ever encountered and I'm so grateful we chose her and she chose to work with us!

Ariel is AMAZING! She went above and beyond to make a surprise engagement shoot unforgettable with breathtaking pictures. After two plans were thwarted by weather, Ariel sacrificed her entire weekend by driving to three different places on Saturday and Sunday and ultimately suggesting the final proposal site. She was selfless with her time and energy, highly professional and engaging, and an absolute joy to be around. Her dedication to creating the perfect proposal and photographs for us made the engagement as spectacular as could be. Additionally, her kind nature helped us to feel relaxed and truly enjoy our photo session. My fiancé and I are incredible grateful for all that she did to make our engagement so special! Our engagement would not have been as wonderful without her!

If you are looking for extreme bargain, stop reading now and go post on Craigslist. If you are willing to pay market value for a wedding photographer who works tirelessly, pleasant to work with and deliver exemplary result, contact Ariel now before she is booked up for the upcoming wedding season. And don’t waste time reading any further. However, if you need absolutely need convincing, read on. Little on my background… I have done a bit of wedding photography myself, and worked for a summer as a contract photographer for my local newspaper. Therefore, I am some exposure to paid photography works. My top two initial factors as I began my search are 1) fit my budget and 2) have shot ethnic weddings before as my wife and I are Chinese. Cultural sensitivity is an important factor if you will involve foreign traditions in your wedding. Once I found out Ariel met those 2 conditions, I scheduled an interview with Ariel in Asheville. Perhaps the most important factor on deciding on your wedding photographer is to see if you can build a rapport with him or her. We had a great chat at a coffee shop for about an hour and discussed the basic details of our wedding. In fact, she did so well on her interview we decided to cancel the other scheduled interviews in the upcoming weeks and hired her right away! On one other detail, if you decided to involve dogs in your engagement shoot or wedding day, Ariel loves dogs and works well with them (just don’t know about her affinity to cats so I can’t speak on that matter). Onto the wedding day… Her demeanor was extremely professional and saintly patient with (arguably) demanding wedding guests. She is also highly creative on getting the most beauty out of the wedding venue. Above all, she has delivered us wedding photos that our loved ones and us will treasure for the rest of our lives.

This is the first review I am writing from all of my wedding vendors because I want to make absolutely sure that I get it done. Matt and Ariel were AMAZING. We live in NYC but were travelling to NC to my husband's hometown. Newly engaged, we wanted to take advantage of the fall in Asheville and set out to find a photographer available at very short notice. We were so lucky to find Matt and Ariel. They did such an incredible job with the engagement pictures that we asked them to travel to NYC for the wedding. I have to say that as the wedding came closer and I started to freak out in my head, I started to worry about all the worse case scenarios and started to think that maybe I should have gotten a NYC photographer because the whole feel of my wedding was NYC, the skyline, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Grand Central terminal, and The Plaza Hotel. I wanted to capture it all and I worried that maybe they would not be able to since they are not newyorker. Well I could not have been more wrong!!! Matt and Ariel did their homework and they have an amazing eye and incredible talent. We have hundreds and hundreds of pictures and one is more beautiful than the other. Everyone that has looked at them says they are the best pictures they have ever seen. Literally all of our friends want to AMW Studios. Their price was more than fair and there pictures are invaluable. We also had a super fun time with them. They are so funny and easy going. I could write a whole book of praises for this team but the bottomline is, if you want to have THE BEST pictures ever!! you have to go with them there's just no one better. I want to give them 10 stars!!

If I could give Ariel and Matt more than 5 stars I would. They went above and beyond. They were fabulous to work with, they were fun and energetic and they took the most amazing pictures! They were accommodating to my crazy family and they got all of our pictures done which was a challenge! I have no words for how amazing they were! I would recommend them to everybody! My family is still discussing how fun they were to work with and how awesome the pictures were. I love them, please use them, you won't be disappointed!!

Ariel and Matt are truly AMAZING. Not only are they terrific photographers, but they are so kind and helpful. They helped make my wedding day perfect, and I can't thank them enough for all they did. We worked with Ariel and Matt for our September 2013 wedding in NH. They were an absolute joy. We held our first meeting over skype, as we were planning the wedding from another state, and we immediately knew that we wanted to work with them. They approach their clients with a laid-back, yet professional attitude and make an effort to learn about the couple. They completely understood what we were looking for and gave us complete confidence in their ability to deliver. On the day of the wedding, though we had only met them in person once, Matt and Ariel fit right in. They arrived while we were getting ready and started right away with detail and getting ready shots. They were very good at directing people and keeping us on schedule. They stayed late into the evening. They never felt like they were in the way. At times I almost forgot they were there, and yet they were right there the moment I realized I wanted a picture with by childhood friends. Most importantly, their photographs are beautiful. They were able to capture all the happiness of our wedding day. We are thrilled with our choice to work with AMW Studios.

Also, AMW makes it very easy to view and order photos online for your guests - it's been great to share the online proofing gallery with friends rather than have to upload all the photos myself to share them. My mother-in-law to be came across Matt and Ariel through work. She is a justice of the peace and has worked with many photographers. They came highly reccomended; so we gave them a call! They agreed to travel and capture our wedding in beautiful Mexico. From the very begining, they were both a breathe of fresh air! Matt and Ariel's friendly attitude and professionalism were second to none, and the way they approached their work created a piece of mind that was reassuring to all. The joke with my wife and I was that even if the pictures came out bad (which of course they were beyond phenominal) they were the best part of our wedding! Having Ariel spend quality time with the girls getting ready and Matt with the guys was perfect. They were both funny and worked so well together! Trash the dress was GREAT! it was a little chilly that morning at sunrise and we were both so surprised when tiny Ariel (and Matt) got in the water with us and were just as wet as we were by the end of the shoot! Our wedding was wonderful and all the better because of Matt and Ariel's hard work and dedication. We definitely made the right decision choosing Matt and Ariel and are forever grateful to them for their service!

We LOVE Ariel and Matt of AMW photos! They managed to make my fiance look comfortable in front of the camera in our engagement photos, which is no easy feat. As a JP for 15+yrs, I have been doing a lot of weddings in MA; & few in RI. I have seen a lot of photographers in action. I can tell you, that so far, my number one; and my favorite has been: AMW photo. I met them at a wedding I did in Wellesley. Right before I left, I knew AMW photo- which is compound by a young couple-Ariel & Matt; were the perfect match for my daughter- Nicole & husband to be- Adam's destination wedding, in Riviera Maya,Cancun MX. Nicole is one of the picky ones. I knew it was going to be hard to find her a match. They clicked right away, lots of chemistry with Ariel & Matt, they met via phone, email, skype, due to Nicole & Adam living in NC. Ariel & Matt were Super professional. During the 8 days we spent together in Cancun they didn't rest one single bid, they were taking shots at all times. Every move was important for them; even the one when a crab was crawling on the sand, closed to me- at the beach during the reception and almost gave me a heart attack. AMW photo is Superb. I will recommend it to anyone. I did for my daughter's wedding. We are very proud; and GRATEFUL for their work, dedication, and professionalism. AMW is for sure, Number ONE in professional Photography.

Ariel and Matt are the best wedding photographers in Boston! I have notoriously high standards and they met and exceeded my wildest expectations. They were highly professional, yet creative and fun, and very easy to work with. And my photos are gorgeous, true works of art. I love showing them off! my husband and i found Matt and Ariel by searching through EVERY photographer on The Knot. right off the bat we loved their photographs. since we were out of town, we met with them via SKYPE. from then on, that they would be perfect for us. we chose the package that included both of them, which was the right decision. because we were able to get multiple points of view in our pics. we felt so comfortable with them. they put us right at ease, and we laughed a lot with them throughout the formals. after that, the only time we ever knew they were there was when there were moments like the cake cutting or something that was a more formal moment. we (and everybody we showed) are thrilled with the pictures. so many of them look like they could be in a magazine...but they were still able to capture the personal side, which was so important to us. we just got through putting our album together, and they have been great to work with. they did a mock up (which was extremely helpful) of a first draft and have been extremely patient with and open to our changes. one final thing -- since we were out of town, we didn't have time to do our engagement session in boston. they called and let us know that they were on a 4th of july weekend in philly and asked if we wanted to do the engagement session since they were going to be in town. we spent a wonderful day with them and got some fabulous photographs from it! we would recommend Matt and Ariel in a heartbeat!

Matt and Ariel are great, they took the time to get to know us and did an excellent job memorializing our special day. Very accommodating, excellent pictures and so much fun you don't realize how fast time goes by and at times don't realize they are taking so many pictures. They made sure to not only capture us and our big day but all our family and friends, I re live the day every time I look at the pictures. We will definitely use them again....renewal of vows ;-)

Matt and Ariel shot our engagement photos, rehearsal dinner, and wedding and we are so happy we went with them! The images are beautiful and they were a pleasure to work with. Their style is very unobtrusive yet they managed to capture all of the wedding details beautifully. Ariel & Matt did a fantastic job with our wedding. We had a small, nontraditional wedding. Matt and Ariel did an exceptional job accommodating our needs and understanding/respecting our requests to keep all pomp and circumstance to a minimum. Additionally, our wedding venue was somewhat out of the ordinary and they adjusted to accommodations and managed to photograph amazing pictures that captured every moment and every emotion.

Ariel and Matt were beyond amazing. We got such rave reviews of our engagement photos. Our wedding photos have topped that! They were available whenever I called or emailed. Had great ideas for pictures. I love their style because I didn't want standard wedding pics. On our wedding day we did not feel like they were in our face. Before I could say, did you get a picture of that, they already had! Our family and friends loved them. I would have another wedding just to have them photograph it.
