Amy was the absolute best decision we made for our Maui wedding! She was easy to communicate with, very professional, and even helped us with planning the timeline. But she is also experienced enough to provide suggestions for poses, give direction for little things like where to look or put your hands, and rounding people up to move through portraits efficiently. You know the feeling you get when you find something at a store that you really want but you end up leaving without it? Then think about it so much that you want to go back and get it? And find all the reasons you actually need it, not just want it? This is exactly how I felt when my husband Fernando and I were searching for our photographer. I went through the instagrams, the knot reviews, the Facebook reviews and the websites of many. But there was only really one that I kept coming back to, and that was Amy Jayne’s. There was something about how earthy, natural, moody and organic her photos were that captivated us each time. We wanted and needed a feeling, a vibe, a spark while we tried to determine who we would want to do our engagement and wedding photos. Amy’s style fulfilled that. I knew I found something right away. But I let it sit for a while, contemplated and compared others that I liked, but all I could think about was how I could not have my photos done by anyone but her. Amy was wonderful from the get-go. During the phase we were getting to know each other and figuring out if it was the right fit, the process was smooth and seamless. It was easy, and I am a stress ball, so that says a lot. There were a lot of Q&A that made us click but honestly… she had me and my now husband at “I love tequila too!” In all seriousness though, I loved that she asked all the questions I never thought about, yet are so incredibly crucial to ask when you are taking photos that you’ll remember and keep for the rest of your life. She made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, captured moments that you could tell glimmered love and happiness in real time. When we received both of our galleries, I felt every emotion I had in that snapshot in time and place. We had a gorgeous sunny but not too humid Maui day for our engagement photos at Haiku Mill but the COMPLETE opposite on our wedding day in Makawao given the time of year. But Amy- rain or shine- still told our story on each of those days so beautifully through pictures. She made it as special as how it is supposed to feel. Fernando and I are so happy that Amy was that person, the photographer, who made us have that feeling of want and need. Who we couldn’t pass up. We definitely recommend her, if that wasn’t already obvious :)

Amy gave us a wonderful portfolio from our elopement in Maui! She was professional and had lots of helpful information for a couple that was trying to pull together an elopement from another time zone. She was great coordinating last minute details with our officiant. She created beautiful images of our simple ceremony in the beach. We were so happy with the finished results!

Amy is incredible! She is so sweet and made us feel at ease during our first professional photo shoot together. We were on a trip to Hawaii and were looking for a photographer who could perfectly capture our trip, and Amy didn't disappoint! My fiancé surprised me with an engagement toward the end of the shoot and Amy perfectly captured every incredible moment of it. Her style is absolutely amazing. She made our trip to Hawaii unforgettable and now we have gorgeous photos to remember it forever. She is a true artist. We would give her ten stars if we could.

We can't recommend Amy enough. Leading up to the wedding she was very professional and prompt in her messages and responses. She really listened to us to get an idea of what we wanted. She spent the day with us and we couldn't be happier with the results. Even when the weather changed and temps dropped where we were all pretty chilly, she was still capturing the day and moments and the results were stunning. Even though we eloped; our friends and family said the pictures were so perfect and detailed that it made them feel as if they were there with us. Working from EST to HST to organize our elopement was a challenge & wouldn't have been possible without the fantastic vendor recommendations of Amy.

Amy is SUCH a pleasure to work with! My husband and I had a trip planned to Maui in 2020 that was cancelled due to COVID. At the time, we booked a sunrise photoshoot with Amy and had to cancel. When we rebooked our trip in Aug 2021, I made sure to reach back out to Amy and rebook a session. She takes the time to get to know you, asks what types of shots you are looking for (or if you don't have any in mind, she provides great direction and creative, fun ideas!), and the pictures are just gorgeous. She has a great turnaround time - we got our high quality pics very quickly after our session. You will not go wrong booking her - but make sure to do it well in advance so you get the date/time you want! I know she also covers weddings, and I have seen her wedding pictures on social media, and they are also very beautiful!

From the moment I contacted Amy about photographing our elopement she was super great and responsive. Planning from so far away during COVID could definitely be a challenge but Amy made it very easy and low stress for us. I was running late to meet her and my husband for our first look because I forgot my flowers but she still kept us on schedule and relaxed. She also did such a great job of directing us for the shots which made me feel more at ease and it definitely shows in the pictures! Amy even delivered more images than promised and within the specified time frame and they are STUNNING! I cannot recommend Amy highly enough!!

We could not be more in love with our engagement photos by Amy! She had a great vision to do a photo shoot at one of our favorite hiking trails on Maui. Amy suggested that we do it at sunrise and that was the best decision ever- she perfectly captured the gorgeous lighting at that time of day. My fiancé, Paul, and I instantly felt comfortable around her and it was the perfect setting to have fun while hiking, taking photos, and meeting a new friend. Amy was incredibly professional as she gently guided us what to do, but never too much so that we looked stiff and posing. Paul and I were pretty much laughing the whole time. Amy was able to capture that goofiness, but also caught plenty of loving, romantic moments. Amy's style and vision is top notch and we would highly recommend!!!

My husband and I wanted to elope but our families are just too opinionated so we couldn't do it without causing a fuss. Instead we decided to just go to Hawaii and semi-elope and anyone who wanted to join could come along but we did nothing formal. We got up on a Wednesday morning, went to the beach, got married and then went to brunch after. We really had no idea what we were doing or where to go but thankfully I'd found Amy's photos on Instagram. Her colorful, unique, once in a life time photos were the only thing I knew we needed for our Wedding day and we were so blessed to book her. She was the only thing we booked ahead of time and it was blessing that we did. She sent us ideas for locations, got the location permit for us, explained how un complicated getting the marrige license would be to calm our nervea and then just stayed the most calming and helpful presence during the whole morning. It was an unconventional day but it was perfect for us and it would not have been nearly so smooth or wonderful without Amy.

We decided to elope in Maui with 3 weeks notice and Amy literally came to our rescue. Another photographer had recommended her and we immediately knew by looking at her blog that she was exactly what we were looking for. Not only did she photograph our wedding and help us pick exactly the locations we were looking for, the recommendations she gave us for every part of our wedding from the videographer, officiant, florist came together SO beyond beautiful I can hardly put it into words. Amy was SO easy to work with and I couldn't recommend her more. If you like no BS, chill vibes and easy communication Amy is your girl. We got an amazing little photo preview the day after the wedding which was so fun to have to show our friends and family and our full gallery is perfect.

Amy photographed and officiated our Maui minimony and we can't recommend her enough! In the lead up to the wedding, Amy was super responsive and patient about our many questions, flexible about our contract in light of the pandemic and very thorough (e.g., even took the time to check in a few weeks before to make sure we had our paperwork ready to go!). On the day of, she was punctual and wonderful all day! We're pretty camera shy but Amy was great at directing us and making us feel comfortable, in a warm and calming way. And, of course, on top of Amy going above and beyond as a person--her photos speak for themselves :)

I don’t even know where to start. From a professional standpoint- Amy is punctual, accommodating, and very knowledgeable in lighting, helping couples pose, capturing unique shots, and (my favorite) candid photos of the couples and guests. She has a fantastic sense of humor, is open to suggestions, and literally will make your wedding dreams come to life through the photos she captured. We’d never been to Maui, and Amy recommended places for our ceremony and reception, as well as hair and makeup stylists, great places to eat, etc. When we return to the island, we plan on having another shoot with Amy just for fun and some more fantastic memories. I can not recommend her enough. Thank you, Amy!!!

Amy saved the day for my wedding and is hands down the best choice we could have made for a photographer. We were scheduled to get married on 3/20/20, and one thing after another kept falling apart for our day due to Coronavirus. Amy and I talked often on the days leading up to the wedding because everything was changing so rapidly. Without us having to ask her, she offered several solutions, talked with me about plans B, C, D, E, etc. and pulled extra beach permits just in case we needed them. She said she was available any time during the day to help us have the day we wanted, and really, we probably couldn’t have had an event without her. Additionally, she was great at slipping into the background during our ceremony and getting some great shots! She sent us sneak peaks two days after we took photos, came prepared with a shot list, improvised on locations for us - honestly, the list goes on and on. We hired Amy to photograph our small, 10 person wedding in Maui and it was one of the best decisions we made in planning our wedding! She helped us decide on the beach, get the permit, and helped us choose a good time of day to get the best photos. Amy is very easy to talk to and work with and helped us feel really comfortable. We had never worked with a professional photographer before (or gotten any kind of photos done) and she made us look great! She is very professional, responds immediately when you reach out, and is all around amazing! We had so much fun shooting with her! We ended up with almost 300 photos from our 2 hour session and sneak peaks a few days after the wedding. Go with Amy and you will not regret it at all!

Amy was the best decision we made for our wedding. We couldn't be happier with the time she spent with us and the images we received after. She was extremely professional, knew exactly what to do, where to put us and how to direct us for posing. We were fixed on having our ceremony on the beach, however our wedding planner and officiant had convinced us it wouldn't be the best idea. We were traveling to Maui and thought it would be a special / unique place to have engagement photos taken. I am SO glad we did it and that we found Amy to photograph us! Amy chose a beautiful beach in Maui early in the morning (for the best lighting) for our session. She made us feel really comfortable and was so down to earth and fun to work with! The photos turned out beautiful! I love her photography style of catching more natural moments. We have so many great photos from our session and will have a hard time choosing which ones to use!! I hope to return one day and have Amy do maternity photos or family pictures.

Amy was wonderful! Several people in the wedding party hate having their pictures taken, but she was able to capture several amazing photos. Amy is incredibly talented in photography! We met here on Maui and next I knew, she was taking engagement photos of my fiancé and I. We met at Hookipa for sunset photos. Which came out amazing! I was nervous at first (I feel awkward in front of the camera) but she gave plenty of directions and we chatted like it was a chill hang out sesh. Super comfortable and fun! If you’re on the islands, it’s silly to get not photos by her. Even if you don’t have “reason” schedule some Maui pics with her!

Amy documented our wedding at Maui Dragon Fruit Farm in late April — she is amazing and we could not be happier with the photos! She spent almost 2 hours with us documenting the ceremony, photos with our families and friends, and special photos of the two of us. She made us feel relaxed throughout the entire process. She captured everything we wanted. We received several “sneak peek” photos within a couple days after our wedding, and over 300 photos about one month later. We highly recommend her and would love to have her photograph us again — maybe for an anniversary trip to Maui!

We were so pleased with our experience with Amy. She came highly recommended from a mutual friend and upon meeting with her and going over our wedding vibe I knew we were on the same page. Let me tell you what an amazing photographer Amy is! We live in Wyoming and we were going to Maui for our wedding on the beach and we needed to find a photographer. Amy is simply amazing. We booked her for our engagement session on Maui, and she was up for a jungle/waterfall adventure! She led us down the path and captured a lot of different poses and also put a lot of variety into the photos, setting us up with multiple different backgrounds within our hike (waterfall, bamboo forest, rocks, etc). What really sealed the deal for us is how easy she made it. We are both extremely awkward when posing for photos, since we are generally pretty private people and to us, showing our extreme love for each other in front of a stranger is difficult - but Amy sensed this and gave us amazing direction. She guided us with different poses, told us exactly where to stand when we had no idea, and gave us a lot of tips to make us look better in the photos (stand up straight, tilt a bit to the left, etc). We just found her really refreshing and she is worth every penny. She gave us a peek at some of the photos she took while we were out, and even without editing, her equipment and most importantly, her ability to capture natural light, are just 110% awesome. We booked her for our wedding too which will be on Maui in October 2018. :) UPDATE: we had a blast at our wedding and Amy caught all the special moments in beautiful photos! We received our wedding photos in record time and I think Amy even stayed a bit longer than what we paid her for so she could capture a couple of reception photos (we had only hired her for the ceremony), which was very kind of her. She did an amazing job. We plan to have her do our maternity shoot too (someday)!!
