Amy is the best wedding florist I could imagine! She intuitively understood my vision and helped me to tweak and refine it throughout the planning process. The results were beyond anything I dreamed--fresh, interesting, original, and emotional. Just perfect! We received endless complements about the flowers. She and her team work tirelessly behind the scenes to make this all come to life. I also appreciated her flexibility and transparency when it came to budget. Can't recommend Amy enough :)
Amy is the sweetest soul with the most gorgeous vision. I adored everything she created for our wedding and wouldn't have changed a thing. Amy was the perfect balance of listening to what florals I loved and hoped for and using her incredible talent to create what I couldn't have adequately imagined. So thankful to have had her for our wedding and am already dreaming up excuses to use her services again.
Amy was recommended to me by my wedding planner because I was working within a budget, and my planner indicated that Amy was particularly skilled at working with any budget you have. Wow, what a true statement! The flowers were overwhelmingly beautiful, from my bouquet to the boutonnieres to the flowers in the arch we had for the altar. Amy and I met a couple of times and she was so friendly and listened to all my needs--even helping me when I really didn't know much about flowers. What will always stick with me is that I mentioned to Amy once that I wanted a snapdragon in my bouquet in memory of my late father. Imagine my surprise when there was not only one in the bouquet, but she had also made small bouquets of snapdragons to flank each set of rows down the aisle. I got tears in my eyes looking at them after the ceremony. I can't say enough about what a great experience I had with Amy. Many attendees commented on how gorgeous the flowers were. And I stayed within my budget! :) Thanks, Amy!
Amy is an artist. Starting from the beginning when I first spoke to her, she took the time to listen to my vision. I was pretty open from the start that our venue was very grand in itself and we didn’t plan to have an enormous amount of our budget go towards flowers. She was super understanding and never once made me feel like I was a second tier client for not wanting a huge package. She gave me honest feedback on what I could do to maximize the flowers I had picked and how we could make the space look magnificent- never once trying to push additional flower arrangement son me. Amy was very flexible and innovative with colors and styles. My color scheme was dusty rose and pale greens; however, we were having a military ceremony so I didn’t want to flowers to look too whimsical next to a military uniform. She listened and somehow brought my exact vision to life! I showed Amy a photo of the uniform colors and the flowers she put together matched the exact colors of the ribbons & medals on my groom’s uniform. The day of, she arrived early and was so pleasant and meticulous with helping pin bouts and explain how to handle the bouquets. Everything flowed together seamlessly and she made the room look so grand. I got so many compliments on the flowers for myself and my bridesmaids both on the design and colors. I am so happy that I chose Amy to be part of my day. She is truly talented and has such an artistic eye and touch. Her style is absolutely beautiful and she can make any bride’s vision come to life. My only regret is that I wish I had done the centerpieces through Amy. (My husband insisted on doing it on our own and was running around like a maniac trying to figure out how to pull it off) It ended up being fine but flowers are simply not something that you can plan months in advance and check off your to do list…don’t skimp out because you will end up compromising precious family time and weekend of activities for a couple hundred bucks. Amazing!
Amy was a wonderful vendor and a fabulous person to work with! She is very responsive via email, which is of utmost importance during the wedding planning process. We were also working on a tight budget, and Amy never made us feel uncomfortable expressing that, and always offered alternative options to get the same vision for less. She was very professional during the entire planning process, flexible with the many changes I made to our original plan along the way (I had her place 100+ candles last minute for the reception and she totally delivered like a champ with no complaints!). Most importantly, I felt very comfortable working with Amy; she was very friendly, warm, and I was very happy to have her as part of my wedding planning process.
Some things are just meant to be. And for our wedding, Amy was 100% meant to be our florist. My husband and I found Amy on Instagram when a photographer we worked with previously tagged Amy as the florist in photos from a few different weddings. I quickly added Amy on Instagram and fell in love with her gorgeous creations. With the help of our wedding planner we reviewed a few different floral proposals but kept coming back to Amy's vision for our day. She understood what we wanted, (simple, fluffy blooms in shades of blush, cream, and white with anemones and lots of greenery), created a design to fit our budget, and spent a good amount of time making sure everything was just right for us. Amy was especially flexible and patient in the final weeks leading up to the wedding when we made a few final adjustments to our tables, setup, and reception decor. Amy even took the time (in the middle of ceremony setup) to tie my grandfather's ring to my bouquet in the most secure way possible to make sure it wouldn't fall off throughout the ceremony. Her attention to detail, passion for her work, positive attitude, and dedication to executing our vision made Amy an absolute dream to work with. We are so lucky we found her and would absolutely hire her all over again if we could re-do our perfect day!
Amy was the absolute best, most fantastic florist. Everything she puts together is art...just look at her Instagram! One thing I was most excited about on the day of the wedding was seeing the bouquet she created for me. It was gorgeous, as were the bridesmaid bouquets. I couldn’t stop looking at my bouquet all day!
Working with Amy was very easy from the start, she was responsive and created a vision board after our initial conversation that was just perfect and totally captured what I was hoping for. She took the inspiration I had (actually a piece of floral wrapping paper) and brought it to life. After our in-person meeting, I told her that I trusted her 100% with whatever she thought would work best—not something a type-A “control freak” like me does often. We were probably a smaller wedding/budget for her (no big arches or installations and simple center pieces) but she made us feel like such important clients and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, including on the day of the wedding. I realized I overlooked corsages for our moms, and Amy was able to put together posies so they would have flowers. She also included little touches we didn’t expect, like tying greenery to the back of our chairs at our sweetheart table. Truly went above and beyond to make our wedding special and beautiful.
I’m also lucky I got to know Amy and her talents more by attending a “flower therapy” workshop she hosted in D.C. She is an artist, a joy to work with, and an all around wonderful person. I would absolutely recommend Amy to any bride.
Where do I begin?! Amy is absolutely amazing! I talked to a few florists before I spoke to Amy and none of them cared like she did! She met with me IN PERSON and was so interested in my wedding. She understood my initial design and budgetary restrictions from the very beginning. When I completely changed the design, she was SO accommodating and helpful.
Now the FLOWERS. They were so, so, so gorgeous. I saved every flower and dried them because I loved them so much. I didn't have a lot of decorations so I was really relying on the flowers, and Amy pulled through! My family and friends complimented the flowers all night! I really can't say enough good things about them.
I love Amy and will use her for all my future floral needs. :)
Our flowers were stunning--the stuff of dreams. And working with Amy was a delight. Can't recommend her highly enough.
I had no desire to micromanage the details of our wedding, and my husband even less. I hired vendors whose style I liked and then I just let them do their jobs. It worked like gangbusters--our wedding was gorgeous and we didn't make ourselves crazy over it. And working with Amy was a perfect example. She was amazingly responsive. I believe that she got back to me within a few hours of my initial contact. I explained my vision: just three bouquets, two corsages, two boutonnieres, and a big, lush arch for our ceremony. So obviously not a big order--I had a few vendors refuse to give a quote when they realized how little I was interested in. Plus, I knew that I was being a little...umm, aspirational by requesting that the arch be very very full while keeping the price point low. But Amy was immediately on board. We spoke "vision" on the phone, then I sent her a few inspiration pics for color and feel. Later that day, she got back to me with the most amazing proposal I've ever seen, complete with color palette and additional inspiration pics. This was far more detailed and specific than any of the other flower proposals. And her price quote was right in line with others I'd received.
And boy did she deliver. Our bouquets blew me out of the water--elegant, colorful, unstructured (which I'd requested). It was also sweet to have Amy deliver them personally. She also threw in petals for the flower boy at no cost and decorated the cake (so beautifully) for ~ $20. But the clincher was that wedding arch. It took my breath away when I first entered the ceremony space and saw what she had created for us. Like I said, the stuff of dreams! Let's just say that it was better than what I'd imagined and looked as though it should have cost about 3 times what we'd paid.
Bottom line: Amy is an artist. Hire her and then let her do her thing. You'll thank me.
Working with Amy was an absolute dream! She was so wonderful and patient in helping me work through different options to make the most impact with our budget while adding different colors and types of flowers to make everything absolutely stunning. People are still raving about our flowers and they were my favorite detail of our wedding! Thank you Amy!
Working with Amy for my October wedding was an absolute pleasure. I am not a ‘flower’ person and was very nervous about finding someone who could take the lead with very little guidance while being mindful of budget. Amy was spectacular from the first meeting – I brought my mom along and Amy was able to talk through ideas with the both of us so that I felt extremely comfortable and less stressed. I liked more of the unstructured look with purple as the main color, but I wanted the arrangements to be heavy on greenery and light on the purple. Amy put together a great proposal that captured those elements and was very receptive to a few tweaks as we got closer to the wedding day. She was always very responsive to e-mails and consistently had a positive attitude.
The arrangements were perfect on the wedding day and my favorite part was the arch, which Amy provided and draped with fabric and floral accents. For the bouquets and centerpieces/head table garland she incorporated several paper flowers made from book pages that were important to me. We were also able to use Amy’s vases and return them to her a week after the wedding, which was a huge relief and money-saver. The venue itself was gorgeous and I simply wanted the flowers to complement the space, not take over, and I am so thrilled to have found Amy. I was finding it extremely difficult locating a florist in the DMV that would work with a smaller vision and budget, and Amy executed flawlessly. Everything was beautiful - thanks so much, Amy!
How do you get stunning flowers to shine elegantly for your wedding in Dominican Republic when you are located in MD? We had no clue, but Amy did! We met a few months before our wedding and walked through some concepts for the space (large, open, outdoors) and she had all the right ideas. We didn’t really choose specific wedding colors (just palettes) and we left the details up to Amy and our planner. From our first meeting, I just trusted Amy with everything and we were NOT disappointed. From the greenery on the arch, to the bouquets, boutonnieres (for the groomsmen and dads) and corsages (for the moms), to the details on the place settings and the beautiful table arrangements… Walking into our outdoor venue (for both the ceremony and the reception) and seeing the floral magic unfolding in that space… thknot doesn't give me enough characters to describe our sense of awe and excitement and just how truly happy we were with everything Amy did for our wedding. We love, love, LOVED Amy’s vision and execution, and were extremely lucky to have her locally and then on-site in DR.
Amy's Floral Designs took my breathe away. She did an amazing job by bringing my dream wedding bouquets to life! She was extremely helpful and professional.
Amy is absolutely fantastic. As a fellow creative, I have had many opportunities to work with her on both weddings and corporate events and I cannot recommend her highly enough. She continues to be nothing but professional, putting extra effort into making sure her client’s visions are well represented, and always produces outstanding results. I fully recommend her and always look forward to working with her again.
When it comes to beautiful, contemporary arrangements, I recommend Amy of Amy Lauren Floral Design to any bride, groom, event planner, birthday-haver, unique flower aficionado, etc. After scouring the internet for beautiful arrangement ideas for my wedding, one thing became painfully clear: I knew absolutely nothing about flowers. And I soon came to realize the flowers I loved were probably really, really pricey. Lucky for me, Amy came to the rescue: she understood and connected with my vision for the wedding, offered creative ideas that blew me away (while keeping us within budget), and just exudes happiness and raw passion for what she does!
Amy’s design process is what really struck me. Through Thumbtack I had sent her several images from my paltry Pinterest board to give her an idea of what I was looking at. By the time we had our first meeting (in person!), she had developed a board of her own based off of what I sent her, plus made some amazing additions (did you know kumquats look splendid in boutonnières??). It’s not until after all of this that you get her quote, beautifully packaged with a page of images of the flowers and greenery you had discussed. Perfect visual for a flower-dunce like me who described a protea as “that cool orange spiky one.”
The end result blew me away: our flowers were unique, masterfully arranged, and you can tell she does everything with such care. I absolutely loved working with her, and still actively follow her on Instagram to not only marvel at her creations, but to also continue to up my flower game. Thanks again, Amy!
I absolutely loved working with Amy! I don't know anything about flowers, but she was able to transform my basic requests into stunning bouquets! They looked better than I could have imagined, and I got so many compliments.
I also liked Amy because she:
-was very responsive by email, which was helpful because I was planning a wedding across the country
-allowed me some flexibility on price and pick-up
-seemed genuinely excited about my flowers!
I can't say enough good things about Amy Lauren Floral Design! We met Amy about 6-7 months before our wedding, and she helped us make our floral vision come to life. Amy is so easy to work with, and her floral designs were absolutely beautiful!
Working with Amy was an absolute pleasure! Amy and I had to work from a distance and actually didn't meet until the day of the wedding. With this in mind, Amy really stepped up communication to understand my floral vision for the big day. She totally understood that not only was I on a budget, but I was looking for more of a subtle beauty in the arrangements provided. My request centered on primarily greenery with beautiful hues of white and violet. Our venue was very unique, so we didn't need really big bouquets. Amy totally took my notes and made my dream come true. The best part of the whole day... MY BOUQUET! I just can't get over the expert use of unique flowers while also sticking to my budget. I'm just beyond happy with Amy's service. I highly recommend her and her work!
