Amy's Culinary Adventures

iancée and I had been engaged for two years, basically waiting for several things to “fall in place” before tying the knot. One evening earlier this month we looked at each other and decided, why keep waiting? So, it was determined we’d get married…in less than three weeks on the 21st. I’d known of Amy through a professional association of which we were a part. Sometimes putting your eggs in one basket is the best thing to do and we will forever be thankful that we did just that with Amy. Amy was not just genuinely thrilled for us; it was obvious from the start that she was sincerely tickled pink we’d chosen her. It became evident very quickly that for her, we were more than just a “new client” or “a job.” She took our special day and us to heart…and THAT’S exactly what came out in her food and her staff’s performance...heart. Many times, food looks stunning, sounds great, and can smell wonderful…but then upon that first bite, it has no flavor, no impact, and offers nothing memorable. This is NOT the case with Amy. Her heart and passion comes through in every bite. I was greatly impressed and so was my food professional husband. Amy’s food was not only presented attractively, it had soul, depth, flavor, and tasted the way food should taste if someone has truly put their heart and soul into it…it had personality! The one common thread throughout is that although everyone had a particular favorite food or two, they all eventually declare just how fantastic everything was. Just as with restaurants, it’s not uncommon with caterers for clients to enjoy a couple of items a bit more, not be so thrilled about a couple of others and simply dislike one or two other foods. This is the first time we’ve ever enjoyed every-single-thing…and believe me, we tasted EVERYTHING. Over and above the amazingly executed food, I have to say, we were incredibly impressed with her staff. Each and every member, both floor staff and kitchen staff, were practiced, poised, professional, approachable, and projected an honest happiness to be a part of the evening. They were all very attentive, always willing and able to help wherever and however they could, and even if it was with a request outside their specific duties. I noted the kitchen staff seemed very happy if not passionate about what they were doing all night long, and that is always a good sign. The fact that Amy, as owner of the company was also on premise all night as event chef said a lot. Most owners either don’t show up at all or make the obligatory appearance, but Amy was hands-on every step of the way. In the end, our expectations were most certainly met and exceeded. Kudos to Amy’s Culinary Adventures…and what an adventure it was!
