pring event, my committee organized a Hawaiian Luau on April 28th with the Club. Since this was a joint event, the Club and Hospitality worked closely to develop our plan and work out the details. The Club staff, Anna Arndt and Bekah Mitts, were a delight to work with - always cheery, cooperative and complimentary. The ballroom was ready for Hospitality to decorate earlier than expected. The dance floor set-up, tables arranged, including the buffet area and bar. The chef provided exceptional food, cooking up smoked Kalua pork and other Polynesian dishes. Our Hawaiian Luau was a success! We could only accomplish this feat with the help and energy of Anna, Bekah and the Ancala Country Club!!

Despite being in a country club, you do not need to be a member to have a wedding at this venue. When we booked this venue, Ancala was going thru management changes but that had never impacted planning at all. Jodee made sure my husband and I are well taken care of throughout the planning phase despite all the management changes and when Anna joined the team, she made the final stretch of the planning as seamless as possible. On the wedding day, Anna and the Ancala team make sure everyone in the bridal party is well taken care of and we couldn't ask for better team to support us. One of the most important aspect of our wedding was having good food and Ancala truly delivered! Not only it's probably the best food we've ever had at a wedding, every single guest raved how tasty it was. Our set up was also perfect and gorgeous and they have some of the most gorgeous backdrop for our ceremony! Can't recommend Ancala and their team enough for our perfect wedding day!

The catering team, Anna and Jodee were easy to work with on planning the event and even accommodated some last minute requests for changing tables and set up. Everyone enjoyed the dinner and room settings. Ancala was the perfect venue for us and we will be planning future events here for certain.

h on the driving range and the side courtyard. The cocktail hour on the range was a highlight with that amazing sunset over Camelback. Everyone raved about the food. Which is not common, in my experience, at weddings. I always hope for some thing that's palatable at best. Even my pickiest of eating friends could not say enough good things about the food! The service was top-notch. It was quick, it was efficient, it was professional. I honestly never even noticed the wait staff because they were not ever in the way, they were just doing their jobs very efficiently and professionally. I will say that we are so glad we had the big dance floor. With 82 people in attendance, there were times when every single person was on the dance floor at once. It was spectacular. We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making the night so special for Elena and Ben. They keep referring to it as a fairytale and we couldn't agree more.

Ancala is under new management, which would normally make people concerned but that’s not the case with their new staff. Once their new team was in place we were able to finalize our plans for what turned out to be a wedding far greater than we could have imagined. The Club has several locations for weddings, the most sought after is on the course with Camelback Mountain as a backdrop. Unfortunately, they were overseeding the course during our wedding which meant we needed to find an alternate location big enough to accommodate 80 people. Not a problem for Ancala, they quickly pivoted and created a space that also had views of Camelback. In addition to the previous locations, they also have a ballroom and the Sonoran Patio, which we chose for our reception. The Sonora Patio is just off the Clubhouse, set within a group of mesquite trees, with lights strung between them. It’s a quaint and intimate space. We had just under 80 guests, and it was perfect! The staff worked closely with us on every aspect of our wedding. Normally at weddings the food is generally average at best, not at Ancala! We were blessed to have a new chef who took great pride in preparing our meals, both the filet and chicken breasts were prepared in a Sous Vide prior to finishing in an oven or grill. The result were meals cooked to perfection. So many of our guests commented on their meals, most equating it to a five-star restaurant. However, none of this would have mattered if it weren’t for the exceptional customer service, from not only the Club’s executive management but down to the individual server. After our ceremony we were taking pictures and the Club Manager came out with some appetizers and cocktails for us. During the reception they were walking around pouring glasses of wine at the tables and ensuring every guests needs with met. They repeatedly checked in with us to see if there was anything we needed. There are venues that talk about customer service and then there is Ancala which walk the talk! For those of you looking for a wedding or venue for a special event in North Scottsdale, Ancala Country Club should be on your list!

As mother of the bride I appreciated her attention to details and suggestions along the way. Every staff member from begining to end made sure that this day was special and stress free. Juan and the banquet staff were awesome. The food was absolutely spectaclar!! Besides the Hor d'oeuvres, appetizers and the beautiful and tasty buffet dinner at the reception the grooms family had hosted the rehersal dinner in the breathtaking courtyard. Needless to say all guest were treated to a culinary explosion of fine food and spirits. This was an outdoor wedding with incredible views in every direction, making this the perfect place for a sunset wedding. The photos are picture perfect! I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for that special place for their ceremony or any special occasion. Again, a special thank you to all staff for making my daughters dream wedding come true. I am still hearing from our guests on what a beautiful venue and wedding it was. Amy is very organized and responds to phone calls and emails in a very timely manner. Additionally, the food and service was spectacular! So beyond what I imagined. It was as wonderful as any steakhouse one might visit. I must also throw a huge thank you out to Amy McKee, the on site wedding coordinator. She is amazing! The wedding came off so perfectly and that was largely due to Amy's expertise. I wish I had another daughter so I could throw another ANCALA wedding!!

with the venue. She said that she would be there for the set up that day and that there would be additional lights added to the outdoor reception area come the day of the wedding. But come the wedding week no lights were added we had to go out and buy them and put them up ourselves she said that she would pay us back for the lights but never did (she said she wasn't allowed to). I barely saw Jennifer the day of the wedding and when I did she was all over the place and very high strung. The beer we choose for the open bar was incorrect and when they brought out our cake it was smashed on one side. Thank goodness for all of my friends who cleaned up the mess and the rest of the event staff was amazing! Food was excellent! If this is the venue for you I would highly recommend having your own wedding planner to micromanage make an organized timeline, seating charts and set up everything.
