We were able to drop off items the week leading up to the venue for the staff to set up (select items only).
I received so many compliments on everything from the venue to the hors d’œuvres and food to the ceremony to the reception.
I have to give a special shoutout to my girl Amy who is a 5-star coordinator at the Anchor Inn. She was SO crucial in making the wedding of my dreams go off without a hitch. Seriously, book this venue!

From the moment we stepped inside and saw the gorgeous views of the water and the venue itself, my husband and I knew it was the perfect place for us, and it only got better! Tracy Brooks was our contact person and lead us through our planning including our tasting and picking of our china/linen, which was absolutely fun and so tasty🥰! She was so wonderful, kind and patient and always responded to my emails so quickly! Then there was our day-of-coordinator, Veronica, whom I can’t speak highly enough of! She was absolutely phenomenal! Our initial contact was over the phone and we talked for almost two hours. Before our conversation, I was feeling stressed and anxious but after talking to Veronica, I felt so much better and more at ease! She reassured me that she would take care of everything, would make our set-up absolutely beautiful, and would make sure we enjoyed our special day—we even had champagne ready for us in the bridal party suites to enjoy before our wedding started—Veronica delivered🥰❤️! We also had Veronica’s colleague, Alma, to help run our wedding rehearsal, who was so sweet and amazing as well! So many of our family and friends are still talking about how beautiful everything turned out and how exceptional the food tasted! f coordinator. I cannot stress enough how AMAZING she was. From our very first meeting, Aimee made me feel seen, heard, and completely supported. I shared my vision with her, and not only did she get it—she brought it to life in a way that completely blew me away.
I didn’t even arrive at the venue until 5:30 p.m. for our evening wedding, and by the time I walked in, everything was already perfect. The décor, the setup, the timeline—Aimee had it all handled with such grace and precision. It was like she read my mind and then sprinkled her own expert magic on top. I was able to be completely present and soak in the joy of the evening without a single worry, because I knew she had everything under control. Truly, we could not have asked for a better coordinator.
On top of that, the Anchor Inn team absolutely crushed it. The food was phenomenal—flavorful, fresh, beautifully presented—and they were incredibly attentive to all our dietary restrictions (and we had quite a few!). Everyone was impressed, and several guests told us it was the best wedding food they’d ever had. And the cake? It was delicious, gorgeous, and exactly what we hoped for. We’re genuinely excited to dig into our anniversary tier next year.
The venue itself is a total dream. The waterfront backdrop was absolutely stunning—especially at golden hour—and the recent renovations took everything to the next level. Clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed, it truly felt like a hidden gem. The Anchor Inn is a venue to remember.
Aimee and the entire Anchor Inn team created a day that felt like us in every way. I never imagined feeling so calm and cared for on such a big day, but they made it possible. If you're considering this venue—run, don’t walk. You’ll be in the best hands imaginable.

and the pier for photos and hanging out during the reception. The light from the expansive windows were great and we had tons of space for our wedding of 132 people plus a 7 piece live band. The cocktail hour was very fun and we were able to expand between the cocktail hour area and the deck, along with a 3 piece live band. We received countless compliments on the venue on the wedding day and all the days following. We had great weather, but it would have been beautiful even if the ceremony was inside. The bridal suites were very accommodating since there was one area on the first floor and one on the second floor. There was plenty of prep space, wedding space, and parking. Aimee was our day of coordinator and was extremely friendly and helpful. She knows the venue so well, she was able to bring our vision to life! I’d recommend Aimee to all those looking for a great experience leading up to and on their wedding day. It was the most beautiful venue and we had zero issues with the planning. Incredible experience, memories, and photos.

he was always quick to respond with any of my questions, extremely detailed oriented, and was all around a pleasure to work with. The only drawback to this venue/company is that you don't get the same "day of" coordinator. We wished we would have had Marcie there on our wedding day because we had been working with her for months and we knew she saw our vision. The day of coordinator was fine but we had only spoken for maybe 45 minutes the day before and hardly at all on the day of so it felt less personal. Either way, the whole team made sure our day was perfect and if there were any hiccups, they were never brought to us and were handled immediately.
Overall I would recommend this venue to anybody looking for a waterfront, all inclusive, 'speaks for itself' venue.

The food was delicious and it was an incredible value with easy access from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore. The included day-of coordinator was professional and was a huge help in getting everything ready and cleanup was speedy.

We knew who to contact for questions, everything was answered in advance, pricing was upfront & accurate (no last minute additions!!), & the staff ensured we had no stress leading up to / the day of our wedding. The venue is stunning, we provided minimal decor with not a ton of explanation and the staff decorated it flawlessly and exceeded our expectations. All our guests had an AMAZING time, & zero complaints about the food! The food was delicious, super elegant, & service was amazing. Now, to one of the most influential parts of the day - Veronica was our day of coordinator provided by Catering by Uptown, and she greatly exceeded all our expectations. She was everything and more!! She guessed what we needed before we knew we needed it, ensured everything ran SO SMOOTH day of, made sure we had food and drinks the whole night, and was so accommodating to our needs. I had been told I would not be able to enter the venue until 3pm the day of the wedding, but Veronica called me the week of and told me she could let me in early. e (although admittedly still above our initial budget) but was beautiful and ultimately we were sold when we found out that food and an open bar would be included in the price! WE WERE BLOWN AWAY! The food for starters was amazing, from the plated appetizers to the entree to even the salad, guests were raving about the options and how delicious everything was. The venue was super accommodating to the impending weather and we were able to get in our entirety of the ceremony outdoors before it started to sprinkle. Additionally, the set up was just like how we had talked to our coordinator and they were so lovely talking over the centerpieces and other areas where we provided our own materials.
One of the other major reasons we are writing this review though is to recognize how amazing our Day of Coordinator Ty was. We had corresponded a couple of times, but the day before the wedding we were supposed to meet up to drop off our centerpieces and guest book. With 495 traffic, our time quickly got delayed. However, Ty was so flexible and so patient with us, and we wasted no time at all when we got there. She answered all of our questions, and she was such a calm and level-headed person that we could always look to. In regards to the wedding day itself, she was phenomenal. She kept us on track the whole day, was made sure that we were fed, checked in on us, and let us escape to the back quickly to Facetime relatives who couldn't join us and take a moment to breathe. We really couldn't have asked for a better person! Everyone we coordinated with- Jeff, Cassidy, and Ty were all so lovely, and so knowledgeable. Catering by Uptown and Anchor Inn was worth every cent!

Our cocktail hour and reception were held here, with our ceremony held at a church in Laurel, MD. I wish I could post photos because words do not do the venue justice. The water, dock, and covered patio all were unique features that other venues just cannot offer. If I had to choose all over again, I’d pick here.

It was soooo much less stress to have our venue, food, linens/place settings, part of our decor, uplighting, cake and so much more all tied together. The food and cake were both delicious! Esther was our point person throughout much of the planning and Mira took care of us for our rehearsal and wedding day. Both were fantastic to work with and kept everything running smoothly from planning to execution!

We found Anchor Inn through a google search for waterfront venues in Maryland and immediately fell in love upon our tour. I had an inkling from the website photos that this was the...
"one" but seeing it in person (even in the winter), sealed the deal. The views are incredible, the food provided by Catering by Uptown was delicious and their team was great on the day-of. We liked that all the food&bar was included as well as all the tables/chairs/linens so we did not have to find an outside vendor for rentals.
We booked in January 2020 before Covid hit and never thought we would have to worry about Covid still being around while we were planning our wedding (and got lucky that restrictions lifted shortly before our big day) but their team was very helpful in keeping us updated on any changes we may have had to make. With such a long planning period, we did have some changes to our initial planning coordinator but everyone was helpful along the way.
The star of the show was our day-of Event Supervisor, Veronica. She was so nice & lovely to meet with the week of the wedding, and just put me at ease. I knew our day was going to be perfect with her at the helm and she kept us right on schedule and made sure we were taken care of. She executed my vision perfectly with all the decor pieces and allowed us to have the best day ever- we can't thank her enough!

views inside of the venue as well as the dock. It is a unique venue that is beautiful. The food was amazing and we had SO many compliments on that as well as how pretty the venue was! I worked with Cindy for the planning and she was so responsive and helpful. I would recommend Catering by Uptown as well as the venue especially since the food, linens, cake, dishes, etc is included and makes it so easy! They will work with on a design for your cake as well. I asked for coral design with shells and it was perfect and more than I could have asked for!

and ceremony areas were a perfect fit for our group. We planned our wedding from Georgia, and Catering by Uptown made it easy. They utilize an online planning site where you can select and visualize every aspect of your wedding. The pricing was budget friendly, a little over $100 per head, and included rental fees, linens, plated service, hors d'oeuvres, and even a cake! The choice of linens is expansive. The ceremony space is covered, which was perfect for our August morning wedding. The waitstaff were extremely attentive and very friendly! My husband and I have food allergies, and they made sure everything was safe. A few of my guests needed special plates, and everyone got exactly what they needed. Our DOC, Amy, was fabulous! She made sure everything was set up exactly as we wanted, kept us on time, and made sure my husband and I got everything we needed the whole day! The food was delicious! We have a lot of foodie family members, and they all raved about everything they ate. My only qualm about the whole day is that we paid for open bar, and the bar was not stocked with everything we were promised. A few of the spirits and juices needed for mixed drinks were not provided. All in all though, it was a beautiful wedding, and so much more than we hoped for. I highly recommend Anchor Inn!

Laura, the assigned day of coordinator by Catering by Uptown made everything run smoothly.We dropped off all of our reception items earlier in the week and everything had been set up exactly how we wanted when we got there. The rest of the staff was also very professional.
We heard from many of our guests that the food at our reception was the best food they had at a wedding. The drinks were also strong so worth the money!
Again, I cannot say enough for how great catering by uptown was. They were super helpful leading up to the wedding. You can call and talk to anyone in the planning department and they can help you out. Also their planning website made me feel much more confident leading up to the wedding that everything would work out.
If cost is what is worrying you, I can definitely say that afterwards, my husband and I feel that the food, drink, and overall atmosphere and setting of this venue and caterer did not disappoint! Definitely worth the little extra money!
