Angela Hudson Cakes

Angela was wonderful to work with! I sent her images of what I wanted the cake to look like and she NAILED it! The cake was SO beautiful and was truly the best cake that I have ever tasted. We are so excited to break out our "anniversary tier" next year. She was great to work with!

Angela was originally great to work with, but that changed after Covid-19 forced us to move our wedding date and she had our non-refundable deposit. Due to the COVID pandemic and restrictions we are under due to one of us being active duty military, we had to push our wedding from April 2020 to August 2020 and again from August 2020 to April 2021. She accommodated the first move, was extremely kind, understanding and easy to work with, but when we requested to move it again her demeanor complete changed. Her communications became extremely short and unprofessional and she was going to charge us a $150 change fee on a total contract cost of $410. Trying to be understanding and considerate of the viewpoint and bottom line of vendors, we deliberately decided to move the wedding to a Sunday in 2021 instead of taking up a Saturday next season. Angela was the ONLY vendor that refused to honor the original price and not charge any change fee. We are just as disappointed as the vendors that we’ve been forced to move this event twice now, but much of it is quite literally out of our hands given the military restrictions. It was absolutely disheartening how short, rude, and unaccommodating she was in this situation. I know 2020 was a tough season and we wouldn’t have questioned a reasonable change fee, but to insist on charging a change fee worth 36% of the entire contract was unreasonable. We were so disappointed by the way she handled the situation that we are cutting our losses, letting her keep our $205 deposit and are going to find someone for 2021. If you are considering using her and are on the fence, our advice is to go a different route.

Angela was the best!! If you're looking for the best looking and TASTING cake, look no further! She was very responsive over email and so nice in person! She helped us from the cake topper to the bits of decorative greenery, and the cake she made was not only the best cake I've ever had in my entire life, but it was BEAUTIFUL and exactly what I had envisioned! I could not recommend her more!

I can not say enough good things about Angela and the cakes she creates. She made us exactly what we wanted and it was absolutely delicious! Our guests ranted and raved about how amazing the cake was and it was beautiful too! I would 100% recommend Angela to anyone I know for cakes and cupcakes and we will definitely be ordering future items from her!

Best cake we’ve ever had! Angela is such a sweet, genuine person! She helped us plan our cake and keep it simple and true to us! We picked three flavors for our three-tier wedding cake and each was SO good! Everyone loved the cake! Angela also packaged our tier to save for our 1 year anniversary-she’s incredible! We can’t thank her enough!

Angela’s cakes are in a league of their own. I got red velvet cake for my wedding day and guests that didn’t like red velvet, LOVED her cake!!! We were suppose to freeze the rest of the cake but ended up finishing it within a week of the wedding. Definitely recommend!!

Angela is amazing! Our cake was perfect and our cupcakes were SO delicious! All of our guests kept ranting and raving about how the cake and cupcakes were the BEST they have ever had at a wedding! Definitely recommend the lemon cake! :)

This cake was out of this world! Not only was is gorgeous and exactly what we wanted, but it was delicious! Angela is with out a doubt the best baker around!

Angela Hudson with Angela Hudson Cakes is beyond talented at what she does. She was recommended to my husband and I by Danielle, our wedding coordinator with Sorella Farms, and we couldn’t have made a better choice. We met with her in person in the fall of 2015, she gave us a cake tasting and we were sold. She asked us about the design and size of the cake we wanted, and we also told her we wanted cupcakes. She wrote it down and made it happen. On April 29, 2017, we had a beautiful 2 tier white wedding cake, and a few dozen cupcakes, including chocolate and strawberry (the strawberry were to die for). I was reminded of how delectable her work is, and our guests even came up and asked who made the cupcakes after the cake cutting. Thank you Angela, for adding your magic to our wedding day. We loved working with you and would recommend you to any future bride!

Angela done an amazing job with our wedding cake!! I asked her to also throw a little surprise flathead catfish on the cake for the groom and it looked like she just pulled the fish out of the water! Our cake was amazing!!

If you love cake and want it to look fabulous too, then look no more. Angela's cakes taste amazing no matter what the flavor and they are beautiful as well. Some of our guests told us they don't like cake but loved the cake (some had more than one piece!)I only wish we lived closer to get cakes from her more often.

I have always had a love for baking and am always fascinated by what people can create, so finding a cake baker was one of the things I looked forward to most as Chris and I planned our June ‘15 wedding. Even Chris was excited about this part of the process, as the two of us have crippling weaknesses for all things sweet. I remember doing some research online of bakers in the area and shooting off emails to a few, but when I came across Angela Hudson’s facebook page, I knew she was the one to hire. The pictures of cakes she made for other weddings were incredible; the details were so intricate and perfect and she clearly had a passion for what she was doing. Chris and I were incredibly excited to meet her and have our cake tasting, which, by the way, was one of the best days of our lives. I mean, a plate full of cake samples, just for us?!?!? Talk about a dream come true!!! And of course, every flavor was unique and deliciously paired with the best icing we’d ever tasted. We had such a hard time narrowing down the options that we ended up choosing two flavors for our 4-tiered cake (white almond sour cream pound cake with raspberry buttercream and red velvet chip cake with cream cheese icing). Angela was so nice, professional, and friendly. She helped us decide what size our cake should be to feed the number of guests, and also had a variety of beautiful cake stands to choose from. Chris and I decided to go with a very simple buttercream design topped with fresh flowers from our florist, but we can attest to Angela’s amazing ability to create anything you ask, just look at her incredible photos on her website and/or Facebook page!!!! We were a little worried about the buttercream melting since our wedding was going to be in mid-June and the cake would be in a barn with the sides open to the elements, but Angela promised to deliver the cake as close to the ceremony time as possible to avoid the cake sitting out in the heat too long. Angela delivered the beautiful cake right on time and the buttercream held up perfectly in the heat. It looked amazing and tasted incredible--SO good that our guests were devouring it right and left and there wasn’t a single bite left at the end of the night!!!!! (Word to the wise: if you are getting a cake with multiple flavors, you might want to take Angela’s advice and have a sheet cake in the back as well to feed all your guests as many people will take the liberty of eating a sliver of each flavor! Angela suggested this to us and we opted not to in order to stay within our budget, but it would definitely be worth it if you can manage the extra cost!) Many people told us it was the best wedding cake they’d ever had! When Chris and I got back from our honeymoon, we decided to go on and eat our top layer because WHY WASTE AMAZING CAKE by freezing it for a year and eating it when it no longer tastes like cake?!? Even Angela said that you can wrap the cake as tightly as possible and even the best cakes won’t taste good a year later. And now we can look forward to ordering a deliciously fresh cake from Angela to enjoy on our anniversary instead! Thank you Angela for everything! -Sallie and Chris
