process Shay kept in touch with me, always answered phone calls and texts, and made sure she had a list of every single picture I wanted taken in the big day! The day of the wedding they showed up right on time ready to go! Shay and her assistant are the sweetest, nicest, most encouraging girls ever! They really made me feel confident and beautiful and my pictures reflect it because they came out amazing! She even got my husband to show some teeth in a couple of pictures! Very good and clear quality images even when I blew them up to print them! I highly reccomend Anita Shay Photography for any of your events! I can’t wait to use her for my maternity photos one day! , and efficiency. I planned a wedding in three months and Shay was there every step of the way. We had to create a venue in my in-laws' Tuscon desert backyard. Shay visited the location, discussed lighting, timing, expectations from the bride/groom, etc. She provided so much insight to our planning and without her we would have had many last minute scrambles and many of our photo ideas would not have worked out. Shay (and the team she selects) is professional, down to earth, straight shooter, who knows how to navigate people, stressed brides, unrealistic expectations/demands, and execute everything perfectly-seriously, perfectly. The photos that she and her fellow photographer produced were simply outstanding. They captured how the day felt--not just looked. The experience we had also taking the photos was magical and romantic. We decided to not see each other prior to the ceremony. While our guests were entertained with food and plenty of drink my husband and I were able to experience being married for the first moments, and Shay captured it!! Each photo shows the friendship, excitement, coziness, jest, care, protection, and ever lasting love that my husband and I have for one another. I would recommend Shay to anyone in Arizona or out of town. She is a delight and the photos she took are simply outstanding....because she knows what to look for and how to read people. She is not depending on photoshop or filters because she knows how the photo will turnout as she sees the moments happening. My sister-in-law was so impressed with Shay's work that she will be her photographer as well for the rehearsal, ceremony, and reception. I could keep typing, but the fact is, just hire Anita Shay. I appreciated her communication and openness throughout our entire wedding process. Prior to our engagement session, my husband was less than thrilled to be in front of a camera. But after a mere five minutes with Shay and her camera, his nerves were totally non existent. She has a way of making you feel totally relaxed during her shoots, and they end up being super fun. Even the boudoir shoot that I did with her was a total breeze. And I can't go on enough about the end result.... the PICTURES! The compliments that I have recieved on our engagement and wedding pictures are never ending, even three years after the wedding. I'm still totally obsessed with them and still occasionally go through our wedding album with total heart eyes. We can't thank Shay enough for her artistic vision and beautiful pictures that we will have for a lifetime. I really struggled for a while with where our engagement shoot should be, and Shay called places for me asking if we could use their locations. She went above and beyond. anted - just that we knew we wanted good ones. We certainly didn't want just anyone with a camera to have us stand up with our wedding party and snap pictures. We needed someone with experience and an artistic eye who could transform a basic setting into something more memorable. We needed someone who could direct us for the photos but also take direction if we wanted something in particular. We needed someone who would quietly capture the candid moments but also take charge when needed to create memorable poses. Shay was everything we wanted and more. A skilled photographer, personable, professional, a great artistic eye, very flexible and willing to work with our unique situation, typically quiet but then able to take charge when we needed to be told what to do, created detailed poses but also worked with our specific pose requests. She worked quietly when capturing candid moments but was able to take charge to move through the various group poses. She had great vision using the locations at the venue to create wonderful settings for the poses. When needed, she added small directions to each pose ("tilt your head a little to the right...a little more..now look at her eyes") that added life to each picture. She would frequently show us some of the photos on her camera screen - a great touch. Sometimes she got excited when she captured an especially good picture and would share it with us right on the spot! Overall, Shay was exactly what we needed and wanted in a photographer. We couldn't have asked for anyone better.

Though I'm a photography lover, my husband was a little bit nervous about all the photos being taken of him on our wedding day, but Shay captured the man I fell in love with. Shay's attention to detail and Matt's ability to capture those beautiful candids make them a perfect pair to capture every moment of your wedding day. I first have to compliment Shay on how incredibly patient she was in photographing my very impatient and unwilling husband at both our engagement photos and wedding portraits. Though I've never met anyone who dislikes getting his picture taken more than him, Shay was still able to capture absolutely beautiful photos that I will treasure forever. We just received our (nearly 800!) wedding photos this week. First, to get that many absolutely GORGEOUS wedding photos in just 4 weeks must make Shay a miracle worker. I could not be happier with the photos she was able to capture of our day. Everyone I showed them to commented on how professional they were and how talented our photographer was, and we even had someone comment that they thought they were looking at a magazine shoot. A day hasn't gone by since receiving those photos that I don't think how incredibly lucky we were to get Anita Shay Photography to be there on our wedding day. In addition to the photos, Shay and Matt were incredibly professional and flexible throughout our entire planning timeline. I worked directly with Shay to develop our day of timeline, emailing back and forth for months on end. She was always quick to respond and so courteous and enthusiastic in her responses. She was even willing to meet with me on several occasions even though I know it meant going out of her way. Shay and Matt did a great job of putting us at ease with our photos. As mentioned above, Shay did my boudoir photos as a gift for my husband, and she made the entire thing so comfortable and enjoyable. I've never felt more beautiful than when I saw those photos. Though I didn't personally interact with Matt, he did get along well with my husband, which made those photos at least a little bit easier for him. Yet, they somehow captured so many amazing, breathtaking, emotional shots. I don't know how they did it! I cried when I saw my wedding pictures. They got images that I will treasure forever. We did a First Look before the wedding, and she helped organize everything, so I didn't have to worry about it. And it went more perfect than I could imagine, and those photos of when he first saw me, still make me choke up. She also understood how special it was to me that my 90-yr old Grandma was there, and got so many pictures of her, that I absolutely adore. We have several nieces and nephews, and she made sure the kids were very much apart of the photos throughout, which was important to us. She captured the BEST photo of my 3 year old nephew and I. And he rarely smiles for the camera! During the planning process, she listened to what we wanted pictures of, she answered all our questions so quickly, and was always willing to meet to go over details. She helped me decide what to wear to the engagement shoot, and they even stayed at the wedding a little later to make sure she got shots of the cake cutting. Her and Matt went above and beyond our expectations. I highly recommend them! They are a great team, and shortly after meeting them, became like friends we actually wanted to hang out with at our wedding. Which is important, because you're with them all day! I can't say enough great things about them. And I will definitely be calling on her for the next big events- like maternity shoots, and family photos! To quote my Dad, "I've been taking pictures of my daughter for 29 years, and Shay takes one photo of her, and captures her soul." Love you guys! k we could afford them. We had a really small budget and didn't have a lot of extra cash after we booked the venue. Because of this, at first I tried to go the "cheaper" rout with a different photographer (who ended up costing way more) and got exactly that, cheap photographs and bad service. After our initial engagement session, we were back to photography square one. My fiancé and I sat down and decided that even if we didn't get anything else, photography was something we were willing to spend more on because at the end of the day, all you have to remember your wedding day are memories and photographs. So I contacted Shay and set up a meeting. Let me tell you, out of all the wedding decisions we made, this was by far the best. We clicked with Shay instantly and later with Matt at our engagement session. One of the many really great things about Shay and Matt is that they truly connect with everyone they work with. They don't just take your money and shoot whatever pictures to get paid. They spend time to make sure you're comfortable and that you're getting the pictures you want. We had so much fun with them and they captured our personalities perfectly. We had a handful of "must have" pictures from our wedding but we really just wanted to capture the emotion of the day - which seems like a weird request. However, Shay and Matt got everything. Even things that I never would have thought would be important pictures to take, like when I hugged my mom after the ceremony, ended up being so beautiful and captured so much feeling. All I have to do is look back through our album and I remember exactly how I felt in the moment. Next to my husband, the photos from Anita Shay Photography are my most cherished takeaway from our wedding. They are beautiful human beings and amazing artists. I absolutely recommend them.

n looking for a wedding photographer, my husband and I wanted someone who was talented, but also people that we would want to be around on our wedding day. It was important for us to feel comfortable and like ourselves, and knowing that our photographers would be around the entire day, we wanted to LIKE them too. Upon meeting Shay and Matt we knew instantly that we would hire them. They made us feel so comfortable, and immediately "got" our style and the look we were going for. Shay was with me and Matt was with my husband for the getting ready photos, and they both made us laugh throughout the experience. Neither of us are particularly good at having our photos taken but they made the process painless. We have an awesome selection of the more posed, formal photos that your grandma wants and the more candid, spur of the moment photos you enjoy seeing later. Shay and Matt also had our photos to us only a month after the wedding. We had over 1000 to choose from, and loved them all. Financially speaking, Shay and Matt are great and could charge so much more for their services (probably double, truthfully). Their package also includes engagement photos, so we got to practice with them before the wedding (immensely helpful). She was also easily accessible by email to answer my many, many questions and never made me feel dumb for asking. And finally, a few weeks after our wedding our dog became really sick and we knew was not going to make it. Shay does not do dog photos but I called to see if there was any way she could take a couple of him for us. She dropped everything she was doing to make it happen, and took the most beautiful pictures of him. She wouldn't even accept payment for this. This is but one example of the wonderful people they are. I really can't say enough good things. I LOVE our wedding photos and will cherish them for a lifetime. If you are considering Shay, all I can say is to hire her and you won't regret it!!

We were aso lucky enough to meet Matt along this journey and he and Shay are just a perfect pair and got all the great shots we wanted! I couldn't have loved them more and I have had many many people tell me how gorgeous our wedding photos are. I told Shay the things I was a bit worried about and she kept these things in mind when shooting our photos. I am still in contact with Shay and I hope she will take many more pictures of my family and friends. What better person to have by your side to document the moment you marry the love of your life? By the end of the process I totally counted both Shay and Matt among my friends. Affordable- seriously one of the best deals in town. Considering everything the packages include and the high quality of the pictures, it's a steal. My advice... Book her now! Your only problem will be deciding which pictures to display! There are too many good ones!

ctures, a boudoir shoot, and our wedding. Our engagement shoot went really well. We were able to choose our location and two outfits. We were also able to bring props. The experience was great. The boudoir shoot also went fairly well, although I was nervous. The one issue that I had with both of these is that some pictures did not look very good because of how we were posed and the angles. My husband and I are larger and so there were angles and poses that were not flattering at all. The pictures from our wedding turned out great. Shay and Matt were there for 8 hours and we have so many pictures to remember the day. Shay gave the pictures to us on discs in both color and black and white. Overall, Shay is a great woman and she has great energy. One other issue we had over all with our experience is that it was sometimes difficult to get a hold of Shay. Her photography business is not her only job and I feel that this made it more difficult to figure out scheduling that worked. We got our pictures back about a month after our wedding. This was great, but I know that another bride got hers (or at least saw some of them) one week after her wedding. Overall, I would recommend Anita Shay Photography to most people. I would be a bit hesitate to recommend some of my friends who may be or their husbands may be larger as we are.

As you can imagine, the thought of paying for 500+ pictures of deranged smiles, a groom who looks like a narcoleptic, and hands that look like they've lost contact with the brain and have gone rogue was not especially appealing. This, coupled with the fact that I had been playing phone tag with another photographer for 3 weeks, made me want to scrap the whole idea. However, we knew that if we didn't do it, we'd regret it later. I found Shay on the Knot, liked her pictures, and decided to email her. It was the best decision I could have made! She wrote me back almost immediately and we set up a meeting. When we met, I felt super comfortable with her right away. She's a lovely, easy-going person. Going in, I had very clear ideas of what I wanted, and more importantly, what I didn't want the pictures to be like. She listened to everything we had to say (and never rolled her eyes once!) I warned her of our inability to pose normally for photos, but she just laughed and told us to bring it on. She encouraged us to do an engagement session, but at that point we'd been engaged for so long, and were so close to the wedding that we opted not to (in hindsight I wish had though). Shay was a dream to work with! She took something that I was kind of dreading and made it so enjoyable. She is completely professional, but relaxed and fun all at the same time. Having her in the suite while I was getting ready was a blast. It was just like having another girlfriend (with a nice camera) there, and she got great shots. Both Shay and Matt (her lovely assistant that day) took amazing photos of the ceremony and reception, and you never even knew they were there. The portraits and groups photos buzzed right along. Shay and Matt worked like a well oiled machine. When it came time to take photos of just the two of us, she had great ideas. It was fun, we didn't feel like we were doing anything cheesy, and when WE were done with the pictures, so was she. We had also asked for lots of candid/party shots, because we knew that they day was going to go so quickly and we couldn't be everywhere at once. We wanted to see all the fun that our friends and families had too, and those are some of my favorite shots of the whole day.The end result was 500+ pictures of a happy day that we'll never forget, and there is not one awkward smile, rogue hand or blinking eye in sight (I can only conclude that in addition to being a totally talented photographer, Shay is also a wizard). She really took the time to get to know my husband and I and it shows. The photos are not just lovely, they're US. She nailed it. She listened to what we wanted and she gave us a beautiful gift in return. I really can't thank her enough, and in the end we couldn't have been more pleased with the wedding pictures OR the new friend we made!

and. He had several meetings with her and found her to be completely professional and understanding. As I don't like to be photographed she had to make do with him. She was completely understanding of my need for privacy. Her and her assistant, Matt, were at my wedding for 8 hours and took the most beautiful shots. I didn't even remember having them take most pictures until I saw the DVD. They were so accomidating and it didn't feel forced or posed to have the shots taken. They also did a great job of blending in so it didn't feel like there was a camera in my face the whole night. Also, they are incredibly nice and gratious people. I couldn't ask for a better team. Besides the basic shots they also took pictures of things at the location that really gave it a special feel. Also, if you plan on having kids in the wedding, you must hire them. I couldn't believe how well those photos turned out. The people that have seen the pictures always comment that they look like something out of a magazine. Such a great compliment to them. The whole journey was everything we asked for and more, and I only regret that Shay cannot share in our wedding day in Hawaii because I am fully confident that she would continue the telling of our love story in the unique, passionate, and beautiful way that only she could through her incredible photography. From start to finish, Shay's engagement package was worth way more than her asking price. Between the travel between locations, the photos themselves (absolutely top quality), the special gift at the end, and the timeliness of her correspondence and delivery, Shay's prices are humble to say the least. - Fun experience. My fiancé and I didn't really know exactly what we wanted to do for our shoot at first, and Shay had so many ideas, was flexible, made us feel comfortable and beautiful in front of the camera. She is so creative and spontaneous and she made us feel like every photo we shot was going to turn out fabulous. -Wonderful person. Talking to her about her love of photography, her clients, her family, and her friends just made my fiancé and I want to be part of Shay's life. id not know what to expect considering the last formal pictures I had taken were senior portraits! Shay directed us into a variety of positions and poses, but also let the session flow naturally to show our personalities. When the pictures came back we were overwhelmed with compliments on how beautiful they were. Unfortunately, we won't be using Shay for our wedding since it is in the Chicago area, but have used her images as a reference for the photographer we will eventually hire. d to meet with her. My husband and I went with our daughter and son in law to meet Shay. She is such a wonderful sweet young woman. We were comfortable with her immediately! We knew that she would be able to put our daughter at ease on this most important day. Cali and Luke had a great time doing their engagement photos with Shay and by the time they were finished with those they felt like Shay was more of a friend than just a hired photographer. The wedding day was absolutely awesome! Shay was with my daughter from the beginning with all the girls to the end of the night when the bride and groom left in the limo. Having such a strong connection with Shay made the wedding day pictures just that much more perfect! Her assistant was equally great and took wonderful pictures of the groom and groomsmen. One of my favorite memories of Shay was her dancing with my daughter, son in law, and my son. She became part of our family! Shay takes million dollar photos but you don't have to pay a million dollars for them. We won't find a better photographer at any price, and you can't put a price on such a wonderful person who you will just fall in love with and want to use for all your future photo needs. ake. I knew that the day would flash by in the blink of an eye and I wanted someone who could capture all the moments I wouldn't get to see for myself. There's something about looking at a photograph of yourself and seeing the happiness and love you felt in that exact moment. That's exactly what Shay did for us, not only with our wedding photos but our engagement shoot too. When I came across Anita Shay Photography I loved the style and details in all of the photos. The day I met Shay my husband and I, along with my parents, met her at a coffee shop to discuss our options and to see if Shay was the right fit. We instantly fell in love. Shay was so real, positive, outgoing and funny. On the day of our engagement shoot we met Shay on Mt. Lemon and took a few shots. Unfortunately, it started raining. Shay didn't skip a beat, she asked us to meet her there again the next day. If it hadn't been for her willingness to work with us and her offering to be there a second day we wouldn't have gotten all our favorite engagement photos. They truly were the most amazing photos. When the wedding day came Shay was all over the place taking pictures. Her and her assistant took photos of moments I missed and it means so much to us to be able to go back and relive our special day just by looking at our photos. Shay wasn't just a hired photographer, she was a friend, a blessing and one of the most important pieces to our perfect puzzle.
