Ann Walker Catering

Walker Catering at a venue open house where we were impressed with their unique menus and California feel. We did an initial consultation at their kitchen in San Anselmo, and we were impressed. Working out the menu took some time, and we kept going back and forth on what we wanted. Ann was extremely gracious and offered great suggestions and tips along the way. We ended up doing a three-course family-style meal: a salad course; a bride-picked vegetarian course; and a groom-picked barbecue course. Because they do not have set menus--each event is custom--it really helps to have an idea of what you want so Ann can better guide you. If you are expecting to pick 3 or 4 items off a list, they can still be accommodating, but they really shine by creating a menu based on fresh, in-season foods. Ann was also very accommodating as we got closer to our wedding date. We had to shift some seats around near the last minute, which Ann and Janice took in stride. We also had some guest nutritional requirements pop up, and they worked with us to ensure they were happy and able to eat. We got a cheese table, which our guests loved. Guests enjoyed the appetizers. We ordered our dessert and our beer and wine through other vendors. Ann was happy to provide us with a few types of wines to look for in our budget that would match our meal choices. The team on the day of did a great job setting up and tending bar. Ann even came out to make sure everything was in order which was a pleasant surprise. Alejandro, the lead caterer for the night, did an amazing job. He had a plate of all three courses prepared for us at our table, ensuring that we got to enjoy all of the food amidst our other dinner activities. He also checked back several times throughout the night to make sure we had enough food and drink. The food was outstanding and the service throughout the night was impeccable. Ann’s suggestion to have bottles of wine on the table was great for our family-style meal. Everyone enjoyed the dinner and we got a lot of positive comments on the food. It definitely did not taste like a catered meal--it was amazing. We would definitely recommend Ann for your wedding. Make sure you have a general idea of what you want in mind, and let Ann guide you and craft a unique menu for your event. You won’t be disappointed!

found Ann. Ann immediately won us over at our tasting. We had requested a meal with a more Asian/Chinese theme, and she had come up with a proposed menu for us to sample. It was very clear from what we tasted that the recipes were very carefully crafted and the flavors well balanced. They did a superb job. Many of our guests told us how much they enjoyed the food. All the catering staff at the wedding were courteous, warm, friendly, respectful, and efficient. It rained on our wedding day so we ended up having the ceremony indoors and required the space to be set up 2 different ways. The transition between the two setups was flawless. Thank you AWC for everything!

I was very confident based on her previous experience with the Brazil Room that she would be able to provide exactly what she promised instead of finding the equipment there insufficient. Even more special, my husband is a winemaker and she went the extra mile to taste samples and pair each dish more specifically to match his wine that we served. The presentation was fabulous and the staff very nice and friendly. There was some small confusion as my groom and I were told that we would receive a small picnic basket with food to take home. As a result, we were not proactive about making sure we tasted all the appetizers and deserts. It was a result of miscommunication, but a small detail we had wished we had known beforehand. Overall we were extremely satisfied with the food, her service, and the quality of the presentations and professionalism of the staff. Every one of our guests raved about the food. It was unique, delicious, and we would highly recommend her and use their services again.

butter cream frosting with soft white chocolate draped along the sides. It tasted SO much better than fondant, but looked just as beautiful. The filling was also to die for. It was a vanilla bean cake with a thin layer of raspberry filling with lemon curd. It was the perfect combination. For our first anniversary we were also able to call her and she supplied a small cake in the same flavors as the one at our wedding, so we didn't have to save the top layer in our freezer all year. This was included in the original price of the cake.
