Wedding photos are suppose to be memories that you will cherish and share for the rest of your life. I hired Anna because I loved her portfolio and thought she'd be a trustworthy p...
hotographer. Unfortunately, the final photos and the way my concerns were handled left me incredibly disappointed.
To start, the image quality was poor. The majority of our indoor photos are grainy and have harsh shadows on our faces. I thought it was a filter at first. After consulting six different professional photographers, they all independently suggested the camera settings were incorrect for an indoor, low-light environment. Several of the professionals I consulted with were surprised that basic knowledge of ISO settings was not applied. The final product is nothing like what she has represented on social media.
What disappointed me most was how my concerns were handled. When I respectfully shared my feedback and asked Anna for a phone call, she said she was unable to talk to me as her contractual duties had been fulfilled. There was no attempt to find a solution, and I was instead left with the impression that this was treated solely as a completed business transaction rather than a service. And to a certain extent, it is. But while the terms of an agreement were technically satisfied, the lasting memories I entrusted Anna to capture have had a profound emotional impact on my family and me. What should have been cherished memories have instead been overshadowed by the poor image quality, the significant financial investment I made, and the feeling that my concerns were neither addressed nor acknowledged. I expected a higher level of professionalism in the product and in response to my concerns.
We met Anna in 2015, originally choosing her as the photographer to take our annual Christmas picture because we were drawn to her style - natural light photography - but, after wo...
rking with Anna that first year, we've used her for every occasion since! She's taken our annual family photos, professional headshots, event photos, and most importantly, ālast lookā pictures. In 2017, our 4 year old daughter was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer, and we wanted to take āone last family photoā before she lost her hair to treatmentā¦Anna dropped everything she was doing meet up with us and take our picturesā¦and then did it again when our daughter relapsed in 2022. We have a whole gallery wall in our home with all of the priceless moments Anna has captured for us, and we canāt imagine anyone doing a better job.
Annaās calm demeanor is perfect for anyone trying to manage the chaos of family pictures, the nervousness that can come with being photographed for a headshot, or the raw emotions that comes with life-altering news. Sheās the consummate professional during the entire process; an expert in recommending site locations and the ideal shooting time of day for your desired effect. Anna has always been able to wrangle all the personalities of our family to get "at least one good picture where everyone is smiling" (always my priority)ā¦but then is willing to spend just as much time working with the kids on whatever silly photo they're aiming for that year.
Weāre looking forward to many more years of Anna capturing our familyās special moments, and canāt recommend her highly enough - sheās simply the best!
We love Anna! She has an incredible eye for all the small details and makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera. I'd recommend her to anyone looking for someone to capture ...
any of life's little or big moments!
