From the moment that we first spoke over the phone, she was kind, easy to talk to, and enthusiastic. When we were searching for a photographer, we wanted to find someone who could bring a unique artistic vision but also hit on all the wedding photo essentials. Annamae brought exactly that. Our vision for our wedding was one that was vibrant and colorful. Her style brought that to life perfectly in the photos. As expected, her photos made the colors from our wedding pop—unlike other photographers we looked into that had more washed out and overly brightened images. If you plan to have a colorful wedding, you will find no better photographer than Annamae.
For our engagement photoshoot, Anname brought a fun energy that put us at ease. We had our photoshoot at the top of Mt. Tam. We were dealing with cold, high winds, and camera shyness, but you wouldn’t be able to tell from the photos. She was simultaneously focused and calm and shot photos with incredible efficiency. You could tell that she’s a real veteran, as she had a plan for everything, and could switch between ideas quickly when something wasn’t quite working for us. We also really appreciated that Annamae worked hard to find a time that would work for us, moving things around her schedule so that we could have the photoshoot sooner.
On the wedding day, Annamae was everywhere all at once and again put everyone at ease and brought an excitement that made it easy to take photos. She was also super organized, making sure that we hit on all the kinds of photos that we wanted. Like when we took photos with family and friends, in the many many different arrangements, she was able to gather people and take photos quickly enough such that we could have what felt like dozens of different arrangements of relatives and friends. A universal sentiment that we heard after the wedding from family was that Annamae really knew what she was doing and was so kind. She’s just such a personable photographer, and she helped tie everything together with our vendors, collaborating with our DJ and videographer to capture some incredible moments.
We have only the highest praise. She’s the photographer for you if you want photos that are colorful, unique, and comprehensive, and an extremely calm and competent photographer who genuinely loves her work and who leads with a smile, making it easier for everyone to smile and enjoy the special day.

lt to get ahold of and communicate with, my intuition went off that maybe we should find another photographer and I wish we had.
There is no photo of our first kiss that we can use - she didn't get close enough to focus us in the frame, so our guests and officiant are irremovable from that one. The venue was a gorgeous cathedral of nature, yet we have all these photos in front of a gray concrete wall. There isn't a single usable photo from from dinner of my husband and I.
Anna Mae said that this was because we ran out of time and natural light. Yet, I sent her a proposed timeline very early in the process and specifically asked for her opinion on whether it was enough time (since she's done this hundreds of times); she said it should be plenty because she's "fast with families."
Fortunately, we hired a tremendous videographer who we paid extra to find stills from their footage, and so we could capture at least some of the important moments that were missed by Anna Mae.
To her credit, Anna Mae was sorry that we were so disappointed and did offer to do another shoot at our venue to make up for it, but we didn't see the point. Those moments all dressed up with our families are gone; there's no replacing them.

we’ve had the pleasure working with. We were initially quite disheartened because we had to cancel our original wedding in Hawaii due to covid but Annemae made us excited for our california wedding and took the most gorgeous pictures. Photography was one of the highest priorities for our wedding and we will treasure the amazing pictures she took of us forever. Not only is she great at photo construction (including unique ideas for poses, use of the terrain, attention to detail), coloring, and lighting (which is not easy to do in the harsh lighting of Big Sur), but she also did a great job of making our wedding party feel at ease despite the pandemic. Our wedding party consisted of multiple frequent blinkers and awkward folks yet she magically did not capture any photo shyness on camera. She was reasonably priced for the area compared many of the photographers we contacted and was extremely prompt and professional with her contract and delivery. She gave us BEAUTIFUL sneak peek pictures within the week of our wedding, and our whole album for download both in color and black and white within 3-4 months, as promised. She was also extremely covid conscious, wearing a mask and adhering to social distancing, making our whole wedding party feel safe. nt day as also a day for pictures. I used to work in the wedding planning industry.....and I had a very particular idea about what I visually wanted the photographs to look like. After looking at Annamae's portfolio and website, I knew she was the one.
In person, she was creative, funny and gave really good directions to help my husband and I (we're really awkward people). She laughed with us when we proclaimed we probably didn't need to kiss each for the rest of our marriage due to amount of kissing we did for photos. She giggled when I couldn't stopping talking about the dinner crab at R&G lounge I was going to devour. She was like an old friend you enjoyed the company of, who just happened to be making sure the lighting was perfect in your photos.
We were in love with the photos she delivered. Her vision for how she saw the settings we choose coincided with ours. We weren't "wash-out-pastel-in-a-vineyard" people (though i'm 1000% sure she could delivery that too), we were "awkward-but-funny-in-moody-gold-hour-lighting" people. Annamae was perfect. If we could hire her every weekend, we would.
