About this vendor
Annie and the Fur Trappers are a Boston-based traditional jazz and blues band. The band was founded in 2016 in St. Louis, Missouri, and features clarinet, trumpet, trombone, bass, banjo, guitar, and washboard. Annie and the Fur Trappers is dedicated to performing and preserving the traditional jazz, delta blues, ragtime, and swing music of the 1920s and 30s.
Annie also plays in another band, Taking Vows, that plays the standard wedding repertoire, if you are looking for music in the style of Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift, and Amy Winehouse.
Both bands can travel anywhere in the New England area, and can take some requests. Check out our pricing document for the most up to date information on our wedding packages!

This group is amazing! They are a must-book if you want an authentic 1910s, 1920s, 1930s, or 1940s sound for your special day. We hired them to play our reception and they made it a great experience. In fact, we consider Annie and the Fur Trappers one of the best parts of our reception. All our guests enjoyed them, which was evident both from our video of everyone out on the floor dancing and the feedback we got from our guests--everyone kept commenting how fun the band was!
Musically, they are super talented and very flexible. They play a wide range of vintage styles, including ragtime, New Orleans jazz, swing, Tin Pan Alley songs, and blues of all types: Annie has the vocal range to carry it all. They even learned a request for our first dance!
And showmanship? They've got it. Annie emceed introductions and moved the day forward expertly. She can improvise as needed, which is super important when your photos go longer than expected and the guests are getting a little bored waiting for the wedding party to get there. What better way to pass the time than everyone on the dance floor? The band looks the part and their instruments are appropriate for the time period, too.
We could not imagine our reception being played by anyone other than Annie and the Fur Trappers!
Annie and the Fur Trappers showed up ready to bring an upbeat and exciting atmosphere to our Charity Black tie Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball. They created an authentic New Orleans Jazz atmosphere and had everyone on their feet. I absolutely recommend them for their personality and fun spirit.
We were debating whether to hire a DJ or a live band. We were very pleased with our decision to go with Annie and the Fur Trappers. They arrived on time and were very flexible with their sets. The bride mentioned that her cousin played the saxophone and we were pleasantly surprised when Annie invited him up on stage to jam. My mother enjoyed the set from her era, music from the 40s. So fun to see even 90 year olds on the dance floor. They really got the crowd moving!!
