aphy for both photography and videography services across three days of events, and from the very start, Annie took the time to truly understand who we were and what we were hoping for. Her attention to detail and her genuine interest in capturing our story set the tone for an amazing experience.
Annie’s work speaks for itself—the quality of her photos is absolutely stunning, with a photojournalism style that captures the real essence of each moment, giving us a window into interactions and reactions that we may not have otherwise known. But beyond her immense talent, Annie was an absolute joy to work with. She and her team, including her second photographer Brett, lead videographer Ailin, and second videographer Michael, brought a relaxed yet highly professional vibe that immediately put us and our guests at ease. Their kindness, warmth, and thoughtful approach made it feel like we had long-time friends behind the camera. In fact, several guests even asked if we had hired a friend to be our photographer!
Ailin's videography work also blew us away. She is so sweet and had clearly put a lot of thought and planning into how she was going to capture video and audio of our weekend to weave together her final product. The final products (1 long video and 2 shorter videos) so perfectly captured the essence and energy of the weekend, in a way that we would not have been able to envision for ourselves. Her thoughtful storytelling and artistry brought us and our loved ones to tears.
Despite the high-stress nature of wedding photography and videography, Annie and her team never let it show. Their clear communication and teamwork were evident, yet their presence felt natural and celebratory. They came in with a solid plan, but their flexibility and easygoing demeanor made the whole experience enjoyable and stress-free. We were not only comfortable with them—we felt incredibly lucky to have such kind, competent people capturing our most precious memories.
What really stood out was how Annie’s warmth extended beyond us. She easily befriended other vendors and guests, creating a sense of camaraderie and comfort that was so special. It meant a lot to us when we saw that Annie and Brett had taken beautiful photos of our other talented vendors as well—photos they could use for their future marketing as well as remind us of our special day. It’s just another example of Annie and her team's thoughtful and generous spirit.

Our photos are jaw-droppingly beautiful, and we’re obsessed with them. It looks like we simultaneously booked a studio session for Vogue, had a field assignment with Paper Magazine, pulled out retro photographs from a dusty album in the 60s, got caught by TMZ at a red carpet afterparty, I can keep going. We absolutely love them and couldn't have imagined them any more perfect. Not to mention how much emotion and authenticity she was able to capture. They look like stills from a movie and looking through them made us feel like we got married all over again. We can't give high enough praise and are so taken aback by how she was able to capture our spirits, the essence of our relationship, the love we felt for each other and felt from our friends and family. We don't want anyone else to take photos of us other than Annie for the rest of our lives!!

Because we hired Annie before we chose the venue, it ended up involving travel, and Annie made that process as straightforward as possible. On the day of, Annie and Brett were fantastic. They were fun and fit in perfectly with our energetic family. It felt more like they were friends with cameras than hired photographers, so they were able to blend in with the guests without everyone feeling awkward. Even when we did the formal photos, they made it comfortable for everyone, which isn't easy! Our guests all commented that they loved Annie and Brett, and how well their energy mixed into our celebration. After chatting with us in a coffee shop for more than an hour, we left not only certain that we would love Annie’s work and approach, but also that we would really enjoy spending our wedding day with her! Although we initially hired her to photograph our wedding pre-pandemic, when we needed to make changes to our wedding date, location, and size, Annie was more than willing to still work with us, which was really important to us, because we definitely wanted Annie to be our photographer! Annie and Brett were so much fun to have around on our wedding day, and I think part of why our photos came out so great was having them there felt like being with just another friend or family member—but ones that so happen to be able to take amazing photos! express how thankful I am that I found her. We ended up getting married in the Bev Hills courthouse about a year before our actual ceremony was booked and Annie showed up within only a week or so request to photograph that for us, as well! She helped keep everyone cool, calm and collected throughout the entire day. And the pictures we will treasure forever. They are ASTOUNDINGLY AMAZING and I truly don't think anyone else could have captured such candid, raw joy the way Annie did. I'm honestly crying just writing this review because those pictures mean so much to us. My husband and I agreed that we wanted our wedding day documented, but we didn't want to spend the whole day posing for formal, stuffy photos - we wanted to have FUN. Annie's documentary-style was the perfect solution, allowing us to enjoy our day, while she captured candid moments, details and shenanigans that ensued. When we shared the photo album with our guests, everyone commented on how excellently the photography reflected how gorgeous, beautiful and fun the day was.
I can also recommend Annie as a good communicator and real professional, with clear pricing, contracts and payment reminders (helpful when you're planning so many things). We loved Annie from our first conversation with her. She was fun and friendly, while impressing us with her professionalism -- she was so organized and patient with us! We also found her to be very experienced in so many ways. She had photographed in so many locations and venues including ours (La Venta), and had great suggestions for us without coming across pushy at all.
Artistically speaking, we loved the candid style of photos that Annie takes. She'll of course take the shots that you request, but she also adapts to the environment and the people. She'll blend into the crowd so that there isn't any chance of guests being awkward or camera shy. The result is an amazing set of photos that really capture the feeling of the day.

The Beginning - I found her randomly online at the WPJA after I had already hired a different photographer that my venue recommended, and after seeing her photos, called my photographer and broke up with them. As an architect bride (let's just say bridezill-architect), I have a very specific eye for what I like in photography and I had plans for engagement shots and our wedding happening at beautiful pieces of architecture. I also had no plans for hiring a videographer because to me photos are everything, so I knew I needed someone that would be able to capture moments while being able to frame and photograph these architectural pieces of art in a way that they deserved. A tall order... So after a handful of emails (through which i fell in love with Annie) we met over ramen (so dreamy) and talked food, turkeys, and photography. We hired her for an initial test engagement session at the Los Angeles Walt Disney Concert Hall by Frank Ghery and The Broad Museum by Dillar Scofidio + Renfro to test out her architectural engagement photography. A couple weeks later, she sent the images and I almost left my fiance for Annie right then. I couldn't believe she was so cool AND so talented. The real package. The images were GORGEOUS. She did a mix of photos focusing on us with the architecture in the background and ones focusing on the buildings that "just happened" to have us in them. AMAZING. (sorry for so much CAPS). After this, we hired her for our wedding day and no longer questioned her capabilities.
After a few work visits to scout the locations, and multiple friend food dates, we fast-forward to W-Day. She's a photographer ninja that you hardly see and can also be commanding like a 4 star general when she needs to be. She outdid herself. She captured moments of friends, my family acting a fool on the dance floor, me looking like an elegant goddess (which is kind of hard to do), so much laughter, so many smiles, the Wayfarers Chapel the way Lloyd Wright (maybe even Frank Lloyd Wright) would have wanted, the beautiful grounds and views of the La Venta Inn, details, scenery, and everyone having as much fun as I remember. After our wedding, our family and friends also fell in love with Annie.
Since then, my brother hired her for his wedding, my friends hired her for theirs, and my dad is planning on hiring her for his party. Like I said before, If you have an event that you need to put your trust into someone to make sure they're capturing it so you can be worry free, trust Annie Bang. I trust her with my photography life forever.

I could not recommend a photographer any higher than I recommend Annie. She makes the experience so personal; she became a friend. My mother-in-law even asked us if she was one of our friends she hadn't met before, because Annie made a point to learn our family members' names and used them to organize our (very few) posed family pictures.

Her pricing structure was affordable and straightforward - especially considering the quality of her work. We were able to order a la carte based on the services that we needed and once I saw examples of the albums she had put together for other couples, we ordered one of those as well. Every step of the way, Annie was there to explain exactly what the services included and to show us plenty of in-person examples of her work.
Annie went out of her way to make every guest at our event comfortable and we received so many compliments about Annie from family and friends alike. She even came out with us to our after party at an arcade bar. We loved having her there and we can’t wait to see the results!

le, and neither of us particularly enjoy having our photo taken, so I knew I wanted someone with a photojournalist style that would capture us candidly without having to think about setting photos up. As one of my friends later commented on a photo she took, we found a unicorn in Annie Bang. She worked as hard as she could to help us feel at home both with her and in front of the camera beforehand, giving us tips, sending us articles, getting to know us enough to joke around and make us feel more comfortable. She is one of the kindest, most genuine people I've ever met, you just want to be around her. Her communication was always excellent and timely, she arrived early to the wedding, made all the obligatory family photos as quick and painless as possible, and in six weeks we got the most magical group of photos we have ever seen. Annie pours her soul into the photos, and it's obvious. She manages to see exactly what you want her to see but can't describe, and she captures it on film. When I look back at the photos, she got every one of the moments that my heart melted, and you can see it all over my face. The artistry is incredible, capturing moments where it looks like chandeliers are floating, or mid spin where it almost seems to move as you watch. We can flip through and remember every glorious moment of the night in perfectly edited technicolor. I can not recommend her enough, honestly. If you want someone who will capture your day not just the way you saw it, but the way you felt it, call Annie Bang. Best decision we could have made.

On the big day, she navigated my giant 270-person wedding with such ease. I was a little nervous that the family portraits would be hectic because I have such a large family, but she directed everyone so well and everyone loved her! Family portraits tend to get tedious and dragged out, but she kept people smiling and energy levels high.

hen you find it, you're so grateful to have been so lucky. We met beforehand to discuss our vision and to get to know her a bit so she could capture our personalities on the occasion. We felt so comfortable with Annie. She was easy to talk to and to discuss important matters with. She really wants to capture your event and make your day as unique and special to you as you know it should be. She was so lovely, very personable and friendly. She's got a fantastic eye and captured things we didn't even know she was seeing. Her professionalism made the process go smoothly. She outlines everything so there are no surprises and she is not the type that would ever try to spring something on you, without a doubt very trustworthy. We are a same-sex couple and needed to find someone of quality who was also comfortable with who we are. This was not a problem for her at all. The day of the wedding she was prompt, personable and so much fun! I had multiple guests mention to me how hard-working and charming Annie and her assistant were. They were a perfect combination of keeping a low profile while somehow managing to be everywhere at once which is no small task for a wedding of 250. And the pictures! Out of this world. They caught REAL little moments that meant the world to me, like skyping with my grandfather or my parents cracking up at a toast. The pictures were all beautifully composed and full of emotion. Her fantastic eye allowed me to revisit the day and I think I cried more looking at the photos then I did at the wedding. Also, she’s just super fun and easy to communicate with which is huge. o the very end ( 11:00 p.m.). I could feel that she genuinely cared about my wedding, even though she probably does this every weekend. Photographers are with you the whole day and you don't get that interaction with any other vendor so having fun and feeling relaxed with them is so important. With Annie’s outgoing/bubbly personality it was almost as if she became a part of the bridal party. She caught candid expressions and was able to capture all the important parts of both ceremonies.
We had taken some engagement pictures before the wedding and during that time she did a great job of capturing our personalities and she remembered all the things that I had mentioned that were important to me. She remembered those things I was self-conscious about and was sure to pose us in a way which made me feel most comfortable... without me having to remind her! Even though it was a bit last minute, she made sure to edit some of the pictures for us very quickly so we could use them during the reception.

, to the actual shoot itself, through to receiving our beautiful photos, Annie made us feel like we were in the care of a professional at all times. We did not meet in person until the day of our wedding shoot, but Annie made herself available through Skype. In fact, we spoke with Annie via Skype on two different occasions -- once to get to know her style, and second after she’d reviewed some of our proposed locations to go over the shoot schedule. Annie asked thoughtful questions about what we wanted and was open and truthful about what she could do. Annie also took a keen interest in us as individuals and as a couple, which we thought came through in the final product. Annie really does take care to get to know the people whose wedding she is photographing. We held a small outdoor ceremony near Santa Barbara, and we were looking for a photographer that would capture more than posed moments and provide us with an honest and fulsome account of the day and all of our guests.
On the day of the actual shoot, Annie and her assistant, Janey, did a great job staging some beautiful shots around Santa Barbara prior to the ceremony. To our pleasant surprise, Annie had also taken the time to scout the locations ahead of time and thus knew some of the best spots. Annie has a good eye and did not waste time trying this or that. When she saw something she knew could work, she put us into action! She is funny and calm, and not afraid to tell you when your pose is awkward. As a result, we ended up with several hundred beautiful photographs from a two hour shoot in three locations. Once it was time for the ceremony and reception, to be honest I forgot Annie was there. But when we saw the photographs afterwards, it was clear she had been very busy running around grabbing all of our guests in excellent candid shots - we have amazing photos from all different viewpoints and of all the guests present.
Annie got the final photos back to us with an excellent presentation, both online and with a special personalized digital media drive. This was a very nice personal touch!
In sum, we could not be more pleased with Annie’s photographs, her personal attention, and her professionalism. She made the wedding photo experience far more fun than stressful, and she is highly recommended!

l the actual wedding story; I'm a lot bigger than I'd like to be and my now husband really is getting older. When I first met Annie for a consultation, I told her that I was looking for a photographer that could tell the story I wanted to tell: I'm not overweight and my husband is not losing his hair. (Just being honest. Pictures are the only things that tell the truth in the end right?! LOL! :P)
When I got my wedding photos, I couldn't believe Annie's magic! She really made us look good without compromising the story of our wedding day. She was so easy to work with and seriously she's a lot of fun too. She is flexible with her style of photos. She took candid shots as well as "perfectly-posed" photos. I loved the mix of styles. I've been to a few weddings where the photographers were really visible and I was worried about that too, but Annie took great photos without being in the way. I didn't notice her or her team during the whole event. She is very friendly and easy going. All of my guests were raving about how good she was at getting the crowd excited and I felt the same way. I am totally planning on asking her to shoot family photos as soon as we are pregnant and when our baby is born. I would highly recommend her for any occasion and I would have paid double to have such an artist shoot my wedding!
