Prior to being stationed in Japan, I was blessed enough to get married to the love of my life and our entire life lay before us, unfortunately the following year in 2010, my wife was diagnosed with melanoma. I was on deployment and once we pulled into the Philippines, I went back to Japan to fly to LA with my wife for a series of surgeries. She was 23 at the time and I started to look at the time we thought we had together and I started photographing everyday that we had left, whether it was 30 days or 30 years.
