What follows below is a long, gushing tribute to Antrim Streamside and the most perfect wedding weekend I could ever imagine. If you want to skip to my recommendation, here it is: visit here, stay here, get married here. I think that the best... wedding you've ever been to should be your own wedding. If that's your goal, Antrim Streamside can't be beat. The property feels like a secret slice of Heaven. The accommodations are cozy, clean, modern, and comfortable. And the staff takes care of you like family. Our family still raves about the weekend and the venue. We recommend the place to everyone in earshot. And we love that we can return over and over again to our wedding venue--"our spot"--for vacations and weekend trips.
My husband and I first discovered the magic of Antrim Streamside when we visited for a long winter weekend. Upon arrival, we saw the bridge glowing over freshly fallen snow, deer drinking from the creek, and a beautiful, cozy cabin waiting for us. After an incredible hike of the property the next morning, we knew that we found "the place" for our wedding.
We returned for our small and intimate wedding in July of 2021 with our immediate families (14 adults, 1 infant, and 2 dogs). While there are plenty of delicious restaurants and breathtaking hikes nearby, no one needed to leave this 250-acre resort to take in the best of the Catskills. We reserved each cabin for a private experience, had everyone stay on the property, and met on the "main lawn" by the creek each morning for coffee. On Thursday night, we sat by the creek and had drinks and small bites while deer crossed nearby. On Friday, we spent the day fly fishing, hiking, frolicking, and tubing down the creek. We ended the evening with a rehearsal dinner, lawn games, and an outdoor movie (Dirty Dancing, of course!). On Saturday, we got ready (the bride in River House and the groom in Pines), met by the pond for our first look, got hitched, and danced the night away. On Sunday morning, we had a big post-wedding brunch before (sadly) departing. It was the family [re]union/summer camp weekend/wedding in the woods of our dreams.
Diane and the rest of the Streamside staff were incredible from day one. They brought us on a tour of the property, offered recommendations, and answered every random question we asked. During the wedding weekend, they made sure that the property was even more perfect than usual (a perfectly trimmed lawn before our guests arrived / a last-minute test of each bridge light to make sure it was "perfect"), coordinated with our vendors, and allowed us to soak up every moment with our loved ones.
The staff's super powers came out when we faced an unexpected change in plans. We had planned to have our ceremony on the River Walk Trail (it's a natural, fern-lined "aisle" for a small wedding - we covered the trail with white flower petals, and it was truly gorgeous), but a sudden and severe thunderstorm brought us inside. The way that Diane and the Streamside staff effortlessly pivoted to accommodate us made this last-minute "problem" feel like no problem at all. Because the indoor and covered venue spaces are gorgeous and still allow you to take in the breathtaking property, we didn't feel like we missed out on anything. We seamlessly transitioned inside and continued with the festivities. Perfection.
The best wedding we've ever been to, you ask? Our own - and it was at Antrim Streamside. We can't recommend it enough.
