Why is Anyone Can Dance different? *Unlike most wedding dance studios, at Anyone Can Dance you will have your own private studio space. You won't be cramped on a dance floor with 5 other couples. With ACD you will have the comfort of your own room to step outside of your comfort zone! *Every dance is catered to you and your partner. We work together to find a dance that is exactly what you're looking for. No dance is premade or reused! We listen to your wants and we deliver! We also understand that planning a wedding is a stressful and busy time. Anyone Can Dance is extremely efficient and we won't push 15 lessons on you, but instead on average recommend 3-5. We film the end of each lesson so you can practice on your own! Your dance lessons should be fun and something to look forward to, not another thing to check off your wedding to do list. The way she teaches step by step and records you at the end of each lesson so you can practice and refer back to the correct steps works super well.

We went to Emily after being turned off by a larger studio. She was gracious from the start, and really listened to our desires for our first dance at our wedding. (Which, admittedly, were mainly to not look like complete idiots...)

I completely lacked confidence going into our first session -- I really thought she was going to have to change the name of her business to "Anyone Can Dance NYC Except For You Two Ne'er-Do-Wells", but instead she can now change it to "Anyone Can Dance NYC Including You Two Stumblebums, Which Like I Already Said 'Everyone' So What's The Big Deal?"
Seriously though, Emily was terrific. She didn't just teach us steps and choreograph -- she also calmed our (my) nerves, put the steps in a broader context, paid attention to details, gently pushed us to be better, and seemed to really care about our experience.
We really weren't sure at first if we should take lessons -- like, were we really going to spend all this money just for a three-minute dance? But we got so much more than that -- we learned things that can apply to dancing elsewhere, we felt great going into the day, and we had a blast.
Oh and we crushed it at the wedding.
If you're fortunate enough to be able to take lessons, then Emily is the perfect person to take them with.

We then were able to schedule 4 in person sessions to fine tune all of our steps and the dance. The whole process was super easy to navigate and she broke down instruction in such a digestible way. I have been teaching dance for 17 years, and I have also been a professional actress for over 10.. When the pandemic hit I decided it was time to reevaluate. I found that my greatest joy came from teaching adults and couples who wanted to feel comfortable on the dance floor but didn't feel they had the ability to do so.
I wanted to create an environment that didn't feel as rigid and technical as other establishments. It isn't about becoming a professional, it's about feeling confident! You should enjoy your first dance, not fear it. I love passing on my passion for dance to others!
