on our wedding day. We ended up taking four lessons with Emily and really looked forward to each one. She made the process fun and approachable. Definitely recommend if you have any reservations about your first dance.

ng!) Emily helped us customize a routine in just a month and only 5 lessons (although I wouldn’t recommend trying what we did). She was super patient, helpful, and creative in terms of helping us design a routine that fit our skill level. Also super easy to schedule and rescheduling was also a lot more accommodating than other places we looked at (only at least 24hrs in advance). I know there are a lot of wedding dance instructors out there but I would seriously consider working with Anyone Can Dance!!

Emily was great to work with, funny, and catered to our different dance experiences. She was very quick to text us back with a helpful video when we couldn't remember how to best do a certain step when we were practicing. The 90 minute classes flew by. I'd highly recommend taking classes with Emily if you want to feel prepared for a first dance that is more involved than step-touch-step-touch. Also, her rates are very reasonable! Seriously just book her. Out of all of the things we had to plan for our wedding, this was pure joy.

I completely lacked confidence going into our first session -- I really thought she was going to have to change the name of her business to "Anyone Can Dance NYC Except For You Two Ne'er-Do-Wells", but instead she can now change it to "Anyone Can Dance NYC Including You Two Stumblebums, Which Like I Already Said 'Everyone' So What's The Big Deal?" Seriously though, Emily was terrific. She didn't just teach us steps and choreograph -- she also calmed our (my) nerves, put the steps in a broader context, paid attention to details, gently pushed us to be better, and seemed to really care about our experience. We really weren't sure at first if we should take lessons -- like, were we really going to spend all this money just for a three-minute dance? But we got so much more than that -- we learned things that can apply to dancing elsewhere, we felt great going into the day, and we had a blast. Oh and we crushed it at the wedding. If you're fortunate enough to be able to take lessons, then Emily is the perfect person to take them with. Best, -David and Gillian.

She listened to our goals and the first dance song and immediately came up with some steps for us to practice and was also very receptive to our feedback and what felt good/natural to us as we progressed through the different moves in the dance. We started off with zero formal dance lessons/experience and in only four quick sessions Emily made it easy for us to look amazing on the big day. Would highly recommend working with her if you are in the NYC area and looking to get some lessons or choreograph a first dance for your wedding!

We then were able to schedule 4 in person sessions to fine tune all of our steps and the dance. The whole process was super easy to navigate and she broke down instruction in such a digestible way. We couldn’t be happier with her, the experience, and how our dance turned out. We recommend Emily to anyone who wants to take their dancing to the next level, whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned dancer.

Firstly she just has the most radiant personality that makes you instantly at ease the second you meet her. She has a magical ability to listen to your first dance song and come up with the perfect choreography even if she hasn’t heard the song before. The way she teaches step by step and records you at the end of each lesson so you can practice and refer back to the correct steps works super well. We would recommend her to anyone and if you’re looking for someone for guidance with your first dance, definitely go with Emily.

and our comfort level with dancing to create something that met our preferences and tastes. Her easy going attitude with instructing made the lessons themselves enjoyable - even to the point that my wife and I looked forward to them each week and treated it as a fun date night. I can't recommend Emily enough to anyone looking for lessons (for a wedding or any other reason), you'll have a great time and learn something new!

ng a dance together was proving to be way more difficult than we had imagined, we ended up finding Emily two weeks before the wedding! We had the honor of being Emily’s students. She is honestly incredible, she has such a great personality and is super talented. Logistics-wise – Emily requested our first dance song, any specific moves that we had wanted to include, how long we wanted the dance to be and how fancy we wanted it to be prior to the first lesson. We took two lessons with her (Wedding Dance Crash Course) and those lessons were absolutely amazing! It was truly such a fun experience. She did her magic! And when our wedding day came, we did it! We danced - some guests cheered and most guests cried! It was truly such a wonderful addition to our wedding. Thank you Emily!! Lots of love!!

Both my fiance and I agreed this was by far the most fun part of our wedding planning process. Emily made up a dance completely unique to us and the song we chose, we learned the entire dance over the course of 4 hours worth of sessions (broken into 3 sessions) it was perfect. She is wonderful at her job - I've already recommended her to all my friends getting married!
