In our fitting sessions she worked with me to design the sleeves to my specifications and she gave suggestions and design advice that helped make my ideas even better. The final result was absolutely stunning. I got compliments all night long and people thought I was wearing a vintage dress. You would never know looking at the skirt that it had ever had a train, so seamlessly did it come together and flow as I danced. Maria is a fantastic seamstress and designer and I highly recommend her for all of your alteration needs!

The shop was very cute, and everyone wore a mask which was great. Maria and her staff helped get me into my wedding dress and I stood in front of the mirror. Maria asked me to tell her what I wanted done, and she pinned/ made notes accordingly. Then, she asked if she could give me her suggestions. She did and they made such a significant difference- they were things I had not really thought of before. There was a small deposit required upon drop off, and what was great was that they broke down each part of the total cost- the transparency is always helpful and appreciated. She showed me the calendar and gave me a time frame in which I should come back and let me pick what worked best for me (two months from drop off, one month before wedding). At my next appointment, my dress had been transformed, and I was so happy. The only thing that wasn’t done was adding back my lace hem, because she wanted to double check that the length was going to be appropriate with my shoes. The alterations turned out beautifully and she was spot on with what she recommended. At that point, I was allowed to have another fitting if I wanted it, or I could just pick up the dress a few days before the wedding. I opted not to do another fitting but having that choice was nice. In the COVID era that we are in, I did not know if I would need a mask for my wedding, so I had asked Maria to make one for me. She said she would use scraps from my dress to make it, so that it would match. She fitted me for a mask, which I appreciated, because so many store- bought masks are ill fitting. When I picked up my dress, she had not yet finished the mask. Maria very kindly delivered it to me at my hotel, after her shop closed for the day. This kind of service and attention to detail is hard to find, and she really helped to make my wedding day special in a dress that I felt confident in that was really fitted to my body. Maria does more than just wedding gowns, there were other customers getting work done on other garments. I think that Maria also does custom jobs too, but you would have to ask her specifically. If I ever need a custom job, or other alterations done, I would go back to Maria right away and would gladly recommend her to anyone!

But Maria was quick to correct the mistake, finding my dress and delivering it to my house only an hour later (and in rush hour traffic). Very pleased with both the quality of the work and customer service. Plus Maria is just a lovely person and a pleasure to work with. Would definitely recommend taking your dress to her if you need anything complicated done.

I looked at the receipt (which had no total on it) and it said my alterations would be $850. I was shocked and felt sick that my custom fit dress would necessitate such cost. I called Maria back who told me that if I did not get the alterations She suggested that I would look ugly. I was very upset and distraught because I had already paid so much to get a dress that would fit well. I ended up deciding to not have any alterations done except for the bustle and cups added in, which I think made Maria a bit upset. When I came to pick up my dress the buttons for the bustle were uneven and the dress was completely dirty covered in hair and threads all over it. I'm upset because of the great ratings she has and I trusted her work would be good. I recommend getting other consultations before if you have time.

o be cleaned and Maria separated the "Juliet" cap from the veil -- a great move! I wore the veil for the traditional church ceremony and wore just the cap for the reception. I had to move one of my appointments around and Maria was very flexible. She was very responsive over email. I highly recommend her service! I felt so comfortable and beautiful on my wedding day!

out beautiful. Maria is expensive, with everything it was $1750. I could have bought a new dress for that. The work and detail were great. The one issue I had was that Maria kept the material from my mom's original dress. When I asked her about it, first she acted like she didn't know what I was talking about, then she said she didn't know what happened to it. I am very upset about that. She basically stole the fabric and lied. That fabric was amazing quality and was preserved for 40 years. I am disappointed in what happened.

in Dec. that needed a hem and bustle. It was tight but zipped up. Maria told me it was too small and needed to be taken out. She ended up taking it way out. She didn't warn me that taking it out would remove the belt detailing and cause it loose the definition in my waist. At my second fitting, the waist was about two inches loose. She could fit her whole hand down the back of my dress and the belt did not go back around. She was concerned about the "dress pulling" around my waist. I went back the following week and told her to take it back in. She did, added cups, and a new zipper. She also didn't ask me how much I actually wanted to hem the dress and the first time she placed the bustle, it was too low. I misread her estimate of the cost b/c I didn't realize that taking out the sides and waist were two different charges. She also didn't double check with me about the new zipper or cups, for an extra $80. I looked beautiful on my wedding day, but I should have sought a second opinion. My advice: treat a tailor like a mechanic. If he/she says that you "need" something you had no idea about, seek a second opinion. I had plenty of time and the alterations that I definitely needed (hem and bustle) would have been about $250-300.

The dress and veil were pressed and ready to go Friday afternoon and it was perfect for my Saturday afternoon wedding! The $50 discount from finding her at the bridal show definitely helped as well!
