With the trial run, we talked about a few different styles, and I left the decision in her very gifted hands, and I’m so glad that I did. Her co-stylist Nicole worked with my sisters, as Colleen worked with me and my M.O.H., and not only did the styles last through a very warm and humid day, but they were all very classic and flattering. All 4 of us left the salon feeling nothing short of stunning and pampered. Every detail was planned out long before the day of; we knew exactly how much would owe, and to whom. We knew who would go to each stylist, and the day went off without a hitch. We chose to go to the salon as the wedding was taking place only blocks away, and our hotel was nearby as well. Although, we discussed having her and her team coming to where we were staying, it seemed more reasonable to go to the salon in our instance, but it was comforting to know that they would be able to accommodate us no matter where we were. Colleen has been nominated (and won) best stylist and colorist in Portland, Maine for years now and there’s a reason why. She is the best of the best. If I can give a word of advice, don’t stress about a vision – let Colleen and her team take care of that for you; it was the best decision I ever made, and it made my entire day so much more relaxed. Thank you Colleen for adding such beauty to an already beautiful day!

out great but when I decided to tweak the overall design, Colleen was totally accommodating. The day of, my friends and I were greeted so warmly at the salon and we felt comfortable chatting and hanging out while Colleen worked (she did hair for all three of us). My hair turned out exactly how I wanted it - I could not have been happier with the entire experience. I highly recommend Colleen and Aphrodite Salon for a wedding or any important occasion!

mazing results were of zero concern for me or any of the girls sharing in my day. At my trial with Nicole, she was prepared, eager, and generally completely open to my vision of my hair for the day. Being a girl that knows little of what in "in" with hair styling I came with a rather vague idea. Nicole was wonderfully able to grasp my overall hopes but also mindful to add her own professional input which I gladly accepted. The day of my wedding Nicole was at the venue even before my girls and I got our scattered acts together and arrived. The best aspect of Nicole being the sole stylist for my wedding day was her overall demeanor which was relaxed and fun despite the task ahead of her. She patiently took in all the needs of my bridesmaid's various hair types, and worked those realities into some of the most beautiful up-dos--several comments by my wedding guests attested to this throughout the day. Overall, I could not have asked for a better hair stylist for my wedding day. Nicole is a true professional, in that she adds one of those additions to your special day by giving you perfect hair, not added stress. She came prepared, was organized, and truly gave all of us our own level of attention. For me, I was a bride that was about to have the happiest day of my life--but before that walk down the aisle its an amazingly happy day up in a room getting ready with all the girls I've loved the most, Nicole easily fit right in to ensure that aspect of the day went smoothly. I would recommend her endless times over.

s had to have theirs done a second or even third time - lots of false starts with seriously bad prom hair. It was all eventually fixed and looked beautiful, but it was time consuming. My main issue with Aphrodite is that the girls didn't know the remainder of our balance and demanded a check then and there - causing the mother of the bride to miss most of the "getting ready" shots while she searched her email for an invoice, which hadn't been provided. They were demanding and wouldn't take a credit card, and refused to leave without being paid, even though we had been prompt about paying the deposit and amount due at the trial (so they knew we were obviously trustworthy). Combined with the constant hair redos, it put a damper on the day.

de myself, all of the bridesmaids, and moms look fabulous. It was fun being at their brand new salon with a little bridal room to hang out and have champagne. Plus her TLC Pandora radio station kept it lively and the nerves away. If I move up to Maine one day, I'll already have a stylist I know I can trust. I would highly recommend Colleen.
