My son got married in January and it was amazing! Owners were friendly and venue was amazing! They even had people to help keep food out on the tables for us. Not going to find that anywhere else you go! They were amazing! They made sure we had everything we needed! They went above and beyond! Even having a January wedding in the cold, temperatures where perfect in the barn. Would highly recommend this venue! Great job Applachia Hills!
Amazing venue!!!!
Attended a wedding in May where we hit 90 degrees.
The reception in the barn was not uncomfortable with the fans running. It's a barn....who expects air conditioning with 2- 10ft. barn doors open and people running in and out of the side doors.
I also attend the Aug. 3rd 2019
Not as a wedding guest but the mother of a bride who is considering this venue. I do agree that it was very hot. I also disagree with the review that Elis. B. wrote about the venue. 84 degrees and with the humidity put the real feel temperature easily in the 90's. This is an Outdoor wedding venue but yet this ceremony and reception was held inside? I was told the bride and groom decided this even though when arriving on the property all the chairs were set up outside as well.
The wedding started 30 minutes late (not the venues fault) and once the ceremony was over the photographs took another hour and a half (again not the venues fault)
So everyone in attendance was stuck in the barn for over 2 hours. before the reception started.
With all that being said I find the venue completely Amazing and my daughter will be getting married at this venue in June of 2020.
We were guests at a wedding at Appalachia Hills earlier this month. If planning to attend an event here, map the route ahead of time and print it or save it to your phone. There are no signs, permanent or temporary, directing traffic to the venue from the back roads. Perhaps a true GPS device will hold signal, as it should. Cell phone GPS does not. There is no cell service for the last 3 miles or so, regardless of carrier. There is extremely limited service on site, and one must be directed to the spot in order to find it. Forgot something? Plan to drive back to Route 220 before you can call someone. As long as guests are prepared and not relying upon cell service, these are not major concerns. It would be helpful if this information was disclosed on their website.
The grounds were perfectly kept. There are gazebos, shade trees, a creek, open fields, etc. The outdoor environment was lovely. The barn is new, built to be a venue. It is spacious on the inside.
It has one major drawback, at least for the summer. When the barn was built, there was not sufficient planning put into the ventilation system. For a 3000 square foot facility, there are two 24” beam-mounted, oscillating fans and one gable-mounted exhaust fan. The barn doors were open and there are two screen doors on opposite sides of the barn. It was 84 degrees outside. It was miserable inside. This was not an unseasonably hot day for this area, according to the weather almanac. For this reason alone, I cannot recommend anyone hosting an event at this venue during the summer.
There are no restrooms, only portable toilets, down at the barn. Thankfully, they did not smell, since they are sitting at one of the screen doors.
The venue would be perfect under ideal conditions.
