You and your loved ones can enjoy the beautiful sunsets over the lake while you celebrate your milestone. Stretching over 132,000 acres, Mille Lacs is the second-largest lake in the state. This resort was designed to be somewhere people can spend quality time together and make memories to last a lifetime.
At Appeldoorn's Sunset Bay Resort, you're welcome to choose the indoor or outdoor space that best suits your wedding vision. To start your day, though, you can get ready in a stylish suite with your party. Then, you can say your vows beside the lake or in a romantic courtyard before retiring to the elegant ballroom for your reception. This space is 2,500 square feet in size, with soaring 14-foot ceilings. It also boasts a dance floor, two projector screens, and a sound system. You can comfortably accommodate up to 275 guests here. Setup and cleanup are provided by the resort. Catering and beverages are supplied by the onsite team, with dishes like glazed ham and surf and turf on offer. The hotel offers a honeymoon suite that overlooks the lake, alongside cabins and rooms for the guests.

everything was how we were wanting it. I can’t rave enough - food was AMAZING, plenty of fun for all ages, everything you could need is right there, and again the staff is so welcoming and helpful! We are already planning it as our new family vacation spot!

She helped with every detail prior, she gave me input, she adjusted my order before several times so I met my budget, she gave input on where to get pictures, she got my slideshows up and all microphones one, and so much more. I would highly suggest this place if your looking for a destination wedding close to the cities so you still get your beach outdoor wedding and most family will make the drive since its only 2 hours north of St Paul. Jodi was a great stress outlet and so helpful. I had the best day of my life. I feel like every bride says this but I honestly couldnt of had a better wedding. It was supposed to rain Fri & Sat. I planned for outdoor groomsdinner and wedding. Jodi made backup plans but she changed everything scrambled to make the outdoor dreams come true. I'm so grateful for her. It would of been 5 times easier for her to just call it and say we have to do it indoors but even when the rain stopped 30 minutes prior to the rehearsal she ran fast to clean up, dry it up, and get everything outside. Hands down very experienced place at weddings.

o emails and questions promptly, which made wedding planning easy. Their food was amazing. The resort is so beautiful. It rained the day of our wedding so we had to make the call to have it indoors, which I wasn't thrilled about. A half hour before our ceremony start, the staff member came up and said the radar was clear and that it was up to us as a couple if we wanted to change it outdoors last minute. This was so relieving. Their staff went down to the ceremony area and cleaned and set the grounds up for an outdoor ceremony last minute. It was so amazing to watch from up in the honeymoon suite and I was so happy to have my outdoor wedding. The food was great. Overall the whole weekend was flawless and I have no negative things to say about them. They did an amazing job and I will continue to recommend them for a wedding location and vacation spot!
