Absolutely a dream to work with, as well as our favorite venue and our new "spot" for an easy weekend trip.
The second you walk into ATI it feels like a great combination of entering your favorite, far-away relative's house, and coming to a cozy cabin. There are 2 big fireplaces on the main floor, and the aesthetic is a really cool mix of the original Victorian style (late 1800s) finishes and antique furniture (including some really interesting pieces like a carved horse statue that looks beyond time) and modern art that the new owner and team have picked out.
The food is really really good (and inexpensive for the how high quality it is!) but the star of the show, at least for us, was the Ostrich Room, which is their upscale pub that serves the full menu, has live bands many nights a week, and has Antonio, the best bartender I've ever met. Not only does he make the most fantastic cocktails (we tried every single one and they are all great), he also makes some of his own homemade concoctions (ask about his fireball!) and, perhaps most important, has complete control over the energy at the bar. He knows when to lighten the mood and when to let old friends catch up and get into it. He is one of the most approachable people in the world and keeps the dynamic going. Truly a superstar of the Berkshires!
Daniel, the owner, is incredibly easy to work with! He has great taste in general, is flexible and relaxed to talk to, and has a great relationship with his staff. We planned out wedding for December 2021, and ended up having to push it to January 2022 after I tested positive two weeks before. We had a guest list that fluctuated up until day of, were pretty disorganized (we like to say "we went with the flow" but from his perspective, we were a bit directionless), and he handled it beautifully.
The rooms are very comfortable and cute - like stepping into a victorian home.
The only cons (which weren't cons for us but may be for others) is that there isn't much sound isolation in the bar, so if you'd like the option to go to bed early, I would recommend booking a room in the Lodge or the 3rd floor. Additionally, they have a breakfast from 8-10:30 (fruit and pastries) but no lunch - the kitchen does not open until dinner at 6pm. That said, Lenox is a 10 minute drive and has plenty of options - just know that this isn't a place where you can hole up and not leave for days ;)
