realize. My now-husband and I met with April and her husband Jared (2nd shooter) when visiting CHS for our food tasting, and I'm so glad we did! They are the coolest, most laid-back people and we hit it off from the start! We went over shots and details I definitely liked and didn't like from other photography I've seen and from our engagement shot (different photographer), and they helped ease our minds immediately by telling us about their style and no pressure to do shots we aren't fond of. Our styles totally meshed and that really proved true on our wedding day! They were go-with-the flow and non-intrusive but stayed on top of the timeline and captured all the special moments! April took my getting ready shots, while Jared took shots of the guys. We loved her and my husband loved him. We asked for a lot of direction for poses and they provided just what we needed! They communicated well with each other about camera settings and angles throughout the whole day which was nice to know they were on the same page! We got our sneak peek shots (about 30 of them!!) back in a matter of just over 1 week, with the shots already edited! SUPER IMPRESSED with the quality and quick turn around! I typically don't like pictures of myself but we got so many we both LOVE just from the sneak peek alone! If you want to remember the beauty of your wedding and feel comfortable in front of the camera, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND April Meachum!! I just wish we lived closer so we could hire her for future photography needs! We are so excited to see the rest of our photos because we know they'll be just as stunning!

They helped us to keep the event on schedule, and always seemed prepared to go above and beyond the call of duty. When my bride's dress needed to be bustled and nobody knew how, April stepped in to fix it. When our bridal party reached the end of the night, tired and a long walk from the guest house, April and Jared helped to get us home despite the fact that they were already passed our contracted hours. They were always quick to reply to our attempts to contact them, answering questions fully and giving advice when needed. Our pictures arrived quickly after the wedding and we continue to be impressed with the quality and quantity of shots they provided. I cannot imagine working with anybody better for both weekends! They arrived early and accommodated my request for my bridal portraits to be taken the day of the wedding, just a few hours before. They had never been to the plantation we chose in Edisto Island, SC but they researched it, arrived early to check it out, and were ready to shoot as soon as we were. Not only did April make us very comfortable behind the camera, she was creative with her photos, accommodated every request, and gave us many last minute tips to make the day go smoothly. She also gave us a quick turnaround on some previews for the bridal portraits and a few of us as a couple so we could print the canvases to have at the reception the next weekend. THEY WERE AWESOME! Fast forward to the next weekend at our reception in Columbia and they arrived early and even stayed later than they were supposed to to make sure they got every aspect of the reception from entrance to exit. I'm telling you, you will not regret working with April and Jared. I cannot wait to see the rest of the photos!

First and foremost, April is so warm, friendly, and attentive - makes any bride feel comfortable immediately from the moment communication begins. She was incredibly easy to get in touch with and responded to my emails promptly. My fiancee and I met April and Jared at the Battery in downtown Charleston for our engagement shoot and, though I was nervous and a little uncomfortable in front of the camera, she really helped make me feel at ease. By the end of the photo shoot the poses and pictures came much more naturally. I was pleasantly surprised that April was able to get our engagement shoot photos SUPER fast - less than a week! The shoot was on a Tuesday and she had them to us by Sunday! I couldn't be more pleased with her work - she photographed each moment beautifully and each picture showed her professionalism and creative skill. Most importantly, she was able to capture the loving, yet goofy, sides to my fiancee and my personality as a couple perfectly. I even gave April a long list of my must haves and she made sure to include every single one. When I asked for some photos to be edited or made black and white, she got them right back to me. Needless to say, we are very pleased with our decision to hire April and Jared. She even brought a floral bouquet for the photo sessions because I had to go out of town immediately after our session ended. On my wedding day, April willingly went back and forth between the locations of the groom and bride for a variety of photography opportunities. When it was time to put on my veil, I had a freak out moment and April was there to help. She grabbed a sewing kit and reattached the veil to the comb...and she helped me place it in my hair. April rode the trolley with us to the reception for photographs and stayed all evening. She was unobtrusive, kind, and simply great. I highly recommend her.
