Since 2008, Ara has adventured with her wedding and elopement clients from the Pacific Northwest to Australia with many stops in between. With a vibrant background in landscape photography, she has won awards for both her wedding and nature work. She weaves emotion and atmosphere together to create photographs entirely personal to her clients, and loves helping them feel at ease from planning through the final event day.
Ara has photographed elopements and tiny weddings for many years, assisting her couples in finding meaningful, gorgeous alternatives to larger events. We did an engagement shoot outside (in a forest), our wedding in a room with giant windows and buckets of natural light, and then a bunch of photos outside on the mountainside - and Ara handled all of it no problem; the photos all came out great. She has an eye for fun and creative photos and and is good at making you forget she is there when it's photo time.
Overall, it was a great experience. 10/10 would recommend!

Beyond the quality of her art and photos which speak for themselves, what really impressed me was how organized and helpful she was in coordinating our day. Because we eloped with only close family present, our setup was pretty loose. We hadn't really rehearsed how everything was going to go. There are so many little things you don't think about for your wedding day until you're there in the moment. Once Ara arrived on the scene, she was extremely helpful in coordinating logistics so things went smoothly. Simply put, she knows what she's doing! Ara was super efficient and professional, while being friendly and an all-around pleasure to work with.

We changed the date AND location after some pre wedding decision jitters and she was perfect to work with every step of the way. phone call, we knew Ara would be the best person to capture our wedding day. Perhaps without realizing it, she generated a ton of excitement in my then-fiance to actually go through with the elopement plan. We bonded over Star Wars, and the rest was a breeze! She helped us narrow down what locations would best capture the experience we were looking for, gave advice for places to hike while in town, and recommended some amazing officiants and hair/make-up vendors. On the day of Ara was a delight to work with. She gave simple instructions to help us experience the moment, but still allowed her to take amazing photographs. My husband and I got to have a romantic, cute, cuddly day, with absolutely no stress, surrounded by beautiful scenery. Now, the pictures we received from Ara help us cherish these moments that were so elegantly captured in her photography. She was pleasure to work with leading up to the big day and was insanely flexible as we waited to hear about all the constant regulations changing. Planning a wedding in 2020 was super scary, but we are so grateful that we had amazing vendors that helped us with the process. On our wedding day up at Mt St Helens it ended up being stormy and insanely windy. Ara was amazing at helping us work “with the wind”. The entire time I was so worried our pictures were ruined cause of the weather, but once we got our sneak peak I was able to see how beautiful they really were!
