This was the rustic, getaway location for our wedding we dreamed of. We bought out the property for the weekend. It was beautiful and well worth the effort. You can canoe, swim in the river, hike, fish and the views! Offers camping for majority of guests and some cabins, yurts and tipis for others. Made for an intimate hang. Makes for the most amazing photos.
This is a do it yourself property as you'll need to bring in all vendors and account for weather. There are not really any vendors in the area so keep in mind travel/accommodations adds to costs. Kitchen is basic so all supplies you'll need to bring in i.e. plates, serving dishes, food, & drinks to support multiple days . They hand over the property to you and have a couple staff to assist. Staff was very welcoming and available for whatever we needed help with. Facilities were clean and well maintained. There is one shower house (not all cabins have bathrooms) so keep that in mind with head count.
We rented the house on property which ended up being a life saver when it started to rain for the reception. The lodge is not big enough to hold more than 40ish people and you still can get wet and cold under the outside pavilion. The cost to get a professional tent up there was insane, we did have our own pop-ups, but those don't hold up in a down pour. We had a band come up on Friday night on the lodge porch. Was such a nice setting. We also had a fire every night by the Tipi's (lucked out, no fire ban). Moose visited us multiple times.
There is so much to offer you here as long as you can go with the flow and enjoy your surroundings. Let go of being able to control all aspects - this is rustic (not just a chic term). The overall experience and weekend was everything I could have hoped for in the end.
