The Inside Scoop
FROM THE KNOT EDITORS
The First Look
Aretsky's Patroon Townhouse in New York City, New York, combines old-world charm with 21st century aesthetics. It is located in the heart of Manhattan, just a 15-minute walk from Times Square. Each of its four levels has a slightly different ambiance. This establishment is known for its innovative menus and high-quality food. There are a number of spaces available for wedding receptions, but this venue does not host ceremonies.
The Main Dining Room takes up most of the ground floor. It features soft, warm lighting provided by wall sconce lights. The square pattern on the high ceiling is echoed by the pattern on the walls, creating a sleek, modern look. This space can accommodate up to 100 guests for a seated dinner or 120 guests for a standing cocktail reception.
The Gibson, Sporting and Match Rooms. During private events, the Gibson, Sporting and Match rooms are combined, creating an L-shaped space. These rooms are located on the second floor and feature windows that look out onto the city streets. When all three rooms are combined, they can accommodate up to 96 seated guests or 130 standing guests.
The Rooftop Terrace. Wedding parties who want to take their reception into a semi-outdoor space can rent out the Rooftop Terrace. It features a more rustic appearance than the rest of the townhouse with exposed brick and exposed ceiling beams. This space offers the best cityscape views of anywhere in the building and it is large enough to accommodate 60 seated guests or up to 150 guests for a cocktail reception.
What You Should Know
Because Aretsky's Patroon Townhouse is a full-service restaurant, they provide all food and beverages for wedding parties. They serve appetizers and full dinners with vegetarian and vegan options available. All rooms in this restaurant offer beer and wine service as well as full bar service. This restaurant features a dessert menu, but wedding parties are allowed to bring in a wedding cake from an outside baker.
This venue also provides all seating, as well as white table linens, china, flatware and stemware. However, they are very flexible when it comes to decorating their private rooms and wedding parties are allowed to contract an outside vendor if they want their tables to have a specific color scheme. Though they are flexible when it comes to decorations, this venue does not allow wedding parties to throw rice, birdseed, confetti or glitter.
There is no rental fee for receptions at this location. However, there is a food and drink minimum that wedding parties must pay in advance. This amount varies depending on the number of expected guests. Events can last for up to five hours. The venue is flexible when it comes to event start times, but all events must end by midnight.

I can't say enough good things about Aretsky's Patroon. We had our reception there, and the moment I saw it, I fell in love with the building and the decor. For our wedding, we used the second-floor dining rooms and the roof, which is partially open, beautifully furnished and lined with greenery. Dinner was incredible, and their pastry chef also made our delicious wedding cake based on the [admittedly less-than-common] flavors I said I liked. Most importantly, though, the staff was really wonderful to work with. Planning was a breeze even though this was a destination wedding, and in addition to guiding me through the process and helping me make the right decisions for our wedding, Elena also provided great recommendations for other vendors (including our DJ, who we loved). The team there did a perfect job setting up for the event, and even our guests commented on how great the staff who was working that night was. I really highly recommend Aretsky's Patroon for events, and look forward to going back to New York to celebrate future anniversaries there.
