Argelia Novias Bridal

I have done business with Argelias Novias for 4 weddings now. I had my bridesmaids dresses ordered from here because they had the best price in the Hartford area, plus alterations were included. Odie was great to work with - excellent customer service. He even called me when his seamstress was going on vacation right before my wedding to ensure that my girls got their dresses altered in time.

Everyone knows when it's time to get your wedding dress it has to be perfect to you. Argelia Novias Bridal was my first stop, I had my mother, mother in law, flower girl, maid of honor, and three bridesmaids with me, They were so nice and helped us so much picking out our dresses. Each one of us got the one on one attention they needed. As the weeks went by we added two more bridesmaids and the staff at the shop had no problems with that, they just added them to the list and got them taken care of. All the alliteration were free, because we bought all our dresses there. The girls could come in as they pleased to get there fittings and alliterations done. Once it came to my wedding dress, the alliterations were perfect, the dress fit my just right. The ladies at the shop even showed one of the bridesmaids how to lace the back of the dress. The Maid of Honor had to get her dress altered twice and they did not charge for the second alliteration and had no problem doing it. I also received a coupon from them to get my wedding dress preserved. They are a family owned shop. They also own the tuxedo shop next store, which we also received a discount from as well for using them for the groom and his whole party. They were able to match the tuxedos to the dresses perfectly. They are very nice and I would recommend them to anyone looking to be treated like a queen.

I knew what dress I wanted and online this shop was listed as being able to get my dress. They had a chat, which I love, but since it was after hours it became an email. Early the next day I received an email from Odie at the shop who said they could get it and quoted me a price. I was very pleased as this was much less expensive than another shop closer to me. I made the hour drive and was measured. I confirmed my dress and chose my sash color and at this time Odie informed me that he quoted me the price for another dress but since it was his mistake he would HONOR THE LOWER PRICE!! I was beyond excited and impressed that he would acknowledge and own up to this error. I was able to still receive free alterations and when my dress came in and I was at my second fitting I realized I needed a slip for the dress to fall correctly. I did not have enough time to order a slip, so Odie allowed me to borrow the slip at no cost for my wedding. I needed one minor alteration, so I cannot really speak to the quality of the alterations they provide. My mother and mother in law tried on dresses here and although they did not end up buying anything from them the staff worked hard to assist them and find a dress that they would like. I would definitely recommend this shop for future brides and mothers of the bride based on my experience.

I know my mother will feel differently about this place, as she got her mother of the bride dress here, and for her, the staff was nice to her, and she got a lovely dress. But for me- I had an awful experience. First of all, the staff spent so much time helping other customers ( keep in mind I made an appointment) that the consultant did not help me into any of my dresses- my sister had to do it. At one point, a dress I had on didn't quite fit but instead of trying to hold it up to see how it would fit like at other shops, the woman just said " oh well it doesn't fit it's too small nothing you can do." I also did not appreciate that young girls were carrying around my dresses for me to try on, and the consultant literally only showed me three dresses then said " we have nothing else for you sorry." I felt terrible about myself being there, so despite the fact that there was a dress there that I really liked, I refused to give them any of my money. Thank God they were at least kind to my mom.

the owners were very patient and let me try on every thing before i made up my mind. once i chose my dress they treated me like a queen.
