Located in Northfield, MN, Armory Square Event Center is a banquet hall-style venue that hosts weddings and other special events. This historical property dates back to 1915 when it was built as a National Guard Armory. Since 2016, it has been an elegant community space for celebrations and nuptial occasions.
The Armory Square Event Center can accommodate more than 300 people for special events. Inside the venue, there are high ceilings and tall windows that allow light to flood the space. A balcony area provides additional seating, while the stage is perfect for a head table, entertainment, or a band. This grand space is easily adapted to suit a variety of wedding themes. Those who plan to host an intimate event are in luck as well and may opt for the Low Down. This area is ideal for more casual gatherings. A portion of the Low Down may also be rented as a space for the wedding party to get ready before the day's ceremony and reception.
Couples can host their engagement party, shower, and rehearsal dinner at this venue, in addition to their wedding festivities. An outdoor space at the Armory Square Event Center offers an excellent option for a ceremony or an elegant backdrop for cocktail receptions. It is complete with picnic tables for comfortable seating. Your chosen caterer can avail of a full commercial kitchen, which provides plenty of space for preparing delicious dishes. d everything during setup and continuously checked in with us. The Armory is also a beautiful building. We did have a bigger wedding, but there was space for everyone. People loved the balcony inside where they could over look everything else going on down on the floor. We had the inside and the green space outside, so people could play cornhole and have more space to hangout. Everything was beautiful and perfect!

hich is exactly what we did). There was enough room for food, desserts, a photo booth and over 150 people. Folks took advantage of the upper-area for quieter conversations, and we ended up using the outdoor area to close out the night with close friends and family.
Liz worked with us extensively to make sure that we had the day that we wanted, and she even did us a favor and set up our tables and chairs before we got there. She truly made it a seamless experience and coordinated well with all of our vendors. I couldn't recommend the Armory Square Event Center enough!

tract, I was constantly feeling like I was bothering her when I had questions or like she genuinely didn’t want to work with me. I thought it might all be in my head, but on the day that we went to set up for our wedding all of my friends and family that came to help felt the same way. Like they were a burden, annoying, like we weren’t wanted there. The venue is advertised on the website as being able to fit 300 people, when I had told the coordinator that we invited 280 people she made it seem like she would be doing us a favor by trying to squeeze all the people in, and again like it was a burden. At the bar, it was the venue owner/coordinator working, her husband, and her underage child (who she openly admitted wasn’t old enough to be bartending), and they were extremely slow, they were telling people that they couldn’t order drinks that were on the menu (the drink menu that the venue put together) because they took way too long to make. We had told her the number of Kegs we wanted to pre-purchase, and she fought back saying it would be to many. We ended up using all but one, we know our guests. She does not. I will admit we may not have been the best customers in the world, I had missed the part in the contract where there are not supposed to be sparkles/ glitter, and she was kind enough to work around that but if you are a bride that has anxiety or looking for a low stress experience, I absolutely do not recommend booking the Armory for your wedding.

We loved the charm and atmosphere. The only downside was I couldn’t come in the day before to decorate. I understand everyone has to make a $$ but no one scheduled the inside space for the Friday before our wedding and they were still going to charge us money to set up decorations the day before. As a very hands on bride this was my only complaint as I wish I could have had that opportunity to decorate and see all my hard work come together. It all worked out in the end though and I have great family who brought my vision to life the day of the wedding I just wish I could have been a part of it.

er and the outdoor space is just as great as the indoor space. If you want a space that's big enough for 250+, gives you flexibility from a catering and decorating perspective and won't break the bank, Armory Square is for you.

Cannot recommend it enough. Also walking distance from the hotels in Northfield, so you do not need a shuttle bus! 10/10 Stars!

en an additional 30 people joined in after the rehearsal. It had a wonderful cozy vibe with so much flexibility on seating and nooks for smaller conversations. It was easy to decorate the venue and give it an elegant, low key feel for the laid back bride and groom to be. It is walking distance from the Fairfield Inn and nicely located in cute downtown Northfield. Liz was tremendous to work with, prompt and thorough with answers to all questions. She was open to ideas and absolutely a 10 out of 10 on meeting our needs. I highly recommend this venue.
