Super 8mm King! AROE Films embodies the soul of filmmaking, and it shows. With the stress and mental weight of planning a wedding, when the day came, all we wanted to do was enjoy it and be present with each other. Aaron struck that balance of discretion, knowing when to prompt a moment, and knowing when to let us do our thing. His use of his vintage French Super 8mm film camera was also super cool. Aaron is a career video producer and camera operator who professionally began his journey when he enlisted in the United States Navy in 2007 as a Mass Communications Specialist, producing video journalism and being awarded the Navy's Best New Broadcaster award in 2008. After ending his 5 years of service, Aaron enrolled and graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art with a BFA in Photography and Video. He has worked as a full time federal employee (as a video content producer) and his highest accolades (so far) are filming weddings with the illustrious Marcy Blume wedding planning company, rolling camera for some the world's most elevated weddings.

s films. A previous project was exactly what we were looking for - a nostalgic wedding video that incorporated camcorder footage. We wanted our video to be a callback to my parent's 90's wedding video that I've watched over and over again. The final product was everything we had hoped for - it captured our day, helped us relive the parts that went fast when we were living it, and felt like "us". It blended modern film styles with the nostalgia of the camcorder in a way that flowed well. Our favorite segment of the video was the interviews of our family and friends. We love that we will be able to look back at those we love and hear their well wishes even far into the future. As a bonus, Aaron also provided long cuts of the ceremony, dances, and speeches as well as the full camcorder footage which was amazing for having even more to look back on. Working with Aaron and his wife Hannah was seamless. They were flexible with changing timelines and were committed to capturing our moments. They were professional and worked well with our photographer and other vendors. You can tell that they are experienced! Overall, I would recommend Aaron for couples that want a premium videography experience that will be tailored to your vibe/needs and that will result in a wealth of footage, much more than many other videography companies provide.

rom the moment i met him the morning of our wedding, i remember saying “i could be friends with this guy” because he treated us as a friend and was truly our biggest hype man. responded quickly but I did not feel a connection. However, I was very impressed with Aaron (Aroe Films) by his speedy initial contact, a great vibe/energy, his patience with all my motherly type questions, sense of humor, was reasonably priced and worked with me on a payment plan so it was more manageable. Aaron’s professionalism shined through when we were nearing our time with him and he was willing to stay longer to film the costume contest for my daughter, since that was the icing on this wedding cake and to top off a perfect day. I sat and cried (many viewings) of the Instagram Teaser which truly captured my daughter’s and now son’s love for each other, their personalities and the beautiful outdoor ceremony. We have not gotten the feature film but if it is anything like the “teaser” then it will be phenomenal! Thank you so much Aaron, who knows we may be working again together, after all there are two more single ladies in the family!

om wedding video he created for us is already a treasured family heirloom 6 months after the wedding. Aaron is not your average Cleveland videographer - he is the kind of artist you'd usually only find in a place like NYC or LA. When we first got in touch with him and explained our vision for a "retro style wedding video" (i.e. less focused on the instagram reel and more focused on capturing timeless memories of us, the day, and our friends and family) he was totally on board and delivered something beyond our wildest dreams. We were originally on the fence about hiring a videographer for the wedding as we were careful with our budget, but I am so glad we found Aaron. The wedding day goes so quickly; Aaron's video helped us remember every last detail and see all the fun our guests had before the ceremony, at cocktail hour, and on the dancefloor since we couldn't be everywhere all at once. I know Aaron's work will age like fine wine and I am excited to make an annual tradition of watching it every anniversary.
