About this vendor
1969 was the last Presbyterian service. In 2012, artist Zack Jones purchased this 1873 church as a artist live work space. Today the studio apartment is available for pre-wedding preparations and is an Airbnb. The upstairs sanctuary continues to evolve into a full sunset mural with a spacious 27ft high ceiling . The Art Church includes Gothic windows with natural light. Exposed beams combined with bursts of color create a dramatic backdrop. It’s located 1 block from Main Street. Next door, is the addition of Art House Iowa. The 1910 Art House is a three bedroom home filled with original art and also serves as an Airbnb, This vintage home is most often used by the bride and bridesmaids. Art Church Weddings highlights the best of small town charm, supports local and historic preservation. Malvern is known as Artfully growing with public art, the Wabash Trace Nature Trail, Saturday Night Concert Series(mid June-mid Aug), and cafes and bars are within walking distance.

My husband and I chose the art church as our venue for many reasons- it was captivating, unique, inclusive, simple, had a lot of character, humble, intimate, and affordable. To top it off, Zach was reliable, personable, accommodating, a great communicator, easy to work with, and very flexible. My bridesmaids and I stayed in the basement apartment the night before which made our noon wedding incredibly easy. The venue was everything we wanted and more. Working with Zach made planning our big day fun and not stressful. And not to mention our photos are one of a kind, everyone always asks us where the amazing church is. I would definitely recommend the Art Church as a venue for anyone who wants a whimsical and intimate wedding that doesn’t come with all of the stress . Who knew getting a venue would be so fun!
Hello! Our names are Denise & Robb. We would love to tell you why we chose the Art Church as our wedding reception destination! The Art Church is centrally located in the quaint town of Malvern, Iowa just minutes away from both Omaha, NE & Council Bluffs, IA. We are avid bicycle riders who love to ride the Wabash Trail, which winds beautifully through the town of Malvern. Our first date was a bicycle ride on the trail, so we wanted to celebrate our marriage by choosing a location that was unique, yet had a rustic simplicity to it. Zack's Art Church was the perfect venue! He was absolutely wonderful to work with and listened to our wishes, without hesitation. The entire experience from start to finish was flawless. In addition, because the Art Church is also an Air B&B location, we were able to stay at the Church the evening of our wedding reception without having to leave the venue! It's decorated beautifully and in the summertime, the community offers a fun Art Concert Series in the Park! We would highly recommend the Art Church as a one of the BEST wedding and reception venues around!
