The Art Museum was a fantastic venue. The staff was very professional and took a lot of stress off of my plate by helping me stay on track with tasks and providing me lots of options. Their catering company, Hester's Cafe, did a wonderful job on the food (yummy!) and dessert table was so special and gorgeous. Would definitely recommend hosting a wedding or any other event here.
Working with Vicki Beck and the Art Museum of South Texas was a great experience. Vicki was always available to answer questions and give good advice on how different set ups worked in the past.
Having our daughters wedding reception in the Johnson room was just beautiful. We had a guest attendance of 130, leaving plenty of room for table set up and space for dancing. The DJ was situated up on the cat walk and that worked great. Our cakes were placed at the entrance to the Johnson building (to the left), leaving ample room for guest to watch the cutting of the cake.
When the sun went down, you could see the water gardens and lighted Harbor bridge, giving a special touch to the reception. On the opposite end of the Johnson building you could see the bay and the t-heads of Corpus Christi. We got the best of Corpus Christi, while enjoying the beauty of the Art Museum. The evening was magical.
This place is beautiful!! It's located in downtown Corpus Christi, right next to the water. You have a nice view of the harbor bridge and the USS Lexington from this place. The Water Gardens are located right next to the museum, so you can take a walk around the area to enjoy the sites. There are a lot of hidden costs when it comes to booking this place. The AC was not working very well the day of the wedding and it was slightly warm. Overall, I was satisfied with this venue.
