We were a little unsure of whether we would have a first dance at our wedding reception but with Arthur Murray's free consultation we figured there was nothing to lose. We surprised ourselves and after the first consultation excitedly signed up for 5 classes to learn how to dance and to have our instructor choreograph our first dance! Our instructor throughout the lessons was Rihana and she was absolutely the best. We started lessons two months out from our wedding day and every single lesson was so much fun! Even if we were having a bad day, we would leave class feeling cheerful and uplifted. We ended up adding two additional lessons and were happy that we did as Rihana was able to help us refine our routine and by the end of it, we felt so comfortable and confident with our choreography. Our first dance became one of our favorite memories of our wedding and we are so happy we went to Arthur Murray Center for our dance lessons!
Sammi was our instructor at Arthur Murray for our 10/9/2022 wedding and I have nothing but amazing things to say! Sammi was very easy to work with and put together some lovely light choreography for my husband and I. We felt so prepared on our big day and absolutely nailed our first dance. I would highly recommend Arthur Murray for help with wedding first dance!
My husband and I had the most amazing experience working with Erica from the Weymouth studio. She was thoughtful and purposeful in our lessons and helped us create a first dance routine that captured our personalities. We are not experienced dancers by any means and she met us where we were at. The entire team makes the learning process fun and approachable. I would highly recommend!
Any questions?
I recently scheduled a lesson for my wedding and the studio cancelled 2 hours before the lesson and asked me to reschedule a week later. Fast forward a week later, the studio called again, 2 hours before our lesson, to cancel. Absolutely horrible customer service. Don’t waste your time.
My now husband and I took a series of dance lessons earlier in the year at Arthur Murray Dance Studio Boston, to prepare for our first dance for our wedding. We had an awesome experience and would highly recommend this place - our instructor Jim was perfect for us and had the best blend of humor/having fun/non-judgment while simultaneously instilling skills and knowledge in us. Neither of us considered ourselves dancers, yet he helped us make our first dance as amazing as we were hoping it would be. They ask you what you want to get out of your first dance at the start of your lessons, which really helps personalize your experience. Not only did we end up with a dance that was what we wanted - elegant and classy and had a bunch of twirls - but it was fun for my husband and me to try out something new together. We also took part in some of the group dance classes which were great too. We have zero complaints about this place and absolutely loved our experience here! Thank you Jim and everyone else at Arthur Murray!
hat we thought was going to be a difficult process ended up being a joyful experience. The instructors were so thorough and patient and always offered encouraging direction. We were delighted with the whole team; each instructor was well aware of our prior lesson and each and h lesson was a natural progression from the prior one. We nailed our dance and we couldn't have asked for a better experience with the Arthur Murray Boston studio.

Thanks Chris! We are thankful you chose Arthur Murray and are glad you felt it was a helpful and value filled experience.
Dave and I are NOT dancers. We don’t even dance at social occasions, haha. So it was daunting thinking about getting help fo our first dance at our wedding in October 2019. Bjorn and Scott at the Boston location were both incredible. Every lesson we got more and more confident, and felt more comfortable. We were so happy we took lessons at AM, they are such pros and wonderful to work with. Can’t recommend them enough!! And we were so happy with our first dance!! :)

We are glad you had a great experience! Cheers to hoping that first sentence is a thing of the past :)
I cannot say enough about how amazing this studio is! My fiance and I and my father and I took lessons here for our respective dances at my wedding and the instructors did such an amazing job teaching us basic moves and getting us into a flow that made us feel totally comfortable and confident on our wedding day! Devon and Melissa especially were such great instructors! Their patience, guidance, and friendliness made us feel right at home since our first introductory lesson. This is well worth the money and I would definitely recommend to anyone who is getting married and looking for that extra flare! Not to mention it was a great way my fiance and I and my father and I to spend some quality time together before the wedding, learning something new.

Thanks Courtney! We are so glad you had a good experience and are grateful for the opportunity to work with the three of you!
We went to the Boston Arthur Murray Dance Studio before our wedding to be able to dance our first dance. The evaluation and instruction was phenomenal. We knew what song we wanted to dance to, but had no idea how to dance. The instructors listened to our song and what we had in mind, and helped us figure out exactly what the best dance style was and how to get us to a point where we felt confident and competent. In six weeks we went from total beginners to pulling off and awesome swing dance at our wedding reception.
Everyone in the studio was great to work with. The instructors make you feel comfortable no matter your skill level or what you're trying to learn. They are incredibly friendly, which makes the atmosphere in the studio so much fun. Both the private lessons and the group classes are very helpful. There was also no up-selling, the instructors help you design a number of lessons that get you to where you want to be as quickly as possible.
We enjoyed our experience here so much that we've continued taking dance lessons after our wedding. I never though I'd find a new hobby in ballroom dancing, but the instructors and community at Arthur Murray have made it so much fun that I can't imagine not coming back!
My husband and I just got married over Labor Day weekend on August 31st, a little over a month ago. One of the "surprises" we budgeted and planned for our wedding was secret dance lessons so we could a) have a blast for our first dance and avoid the dreaded default "sway" and b) surprise and impress our guests (many of whom thought we couldn't dance!). My husband found Arthur Murray on Google and we were matched randomly with Jim for our first lesson. Well, after that first lesson, we loved Jim so much that we ended up coordinating all 10 lessons with Jim's schedule! We came in about every 3-5 weeks for the last 5 months before our wedding, with the last lesson 10 days before the big day. Taking dance lessons quickly became our favorite part of the wedding planning process, and we treated each lesson like a "date night" and would get dinner at the variety of restaurants close to the studio before or after the lesson (great location btw!). Those date night dance lessons were a nice mental break from the rest of stressful wedding planning...
Jim was a HUGE part of why we loved our dance lessons so much. First off, he is a fantastic dancer and great communicator/instructor. He was so good at teaching us the foundations of which we ended up building upon to reach our dance goals. Our dance was not choreographed, instead we actually learned "how" to dance! But most of all, Jim is plain and simply the nicest guy you'll ever meet. He is sweet, charming, energetic, funny, and he and my husband quickly bonded over "nerd jokes" (both are recovering scientists, as they would call it). Each lesson flew by too quickly, and we always left saying to each other, "Isn't Jim just the best?! Let's do more lessons after the wedding!"
Long story short: Leading up to the wedding, we expected ourselves to feel nervous for our song and were so worried about actually being able to enjoy our first dance. But with the confidence Jim gave us, and the practice we put in, we felt absolutely great and as the pictures/videos show, it felt natural and was a total blast and success. Our guests were shocked (the pictures prove it!) and we had so much fun singing along and dancing with each other on the best day of our lives.
Our wedding was a fabulous and dreamy blur, and as all brides know, it went by sooo fast. But one of the clearest memories was dancing together during our first dance to our favorite song. :) Thank you, Jim! See you at our next lesson!

Thanks Lauren! We are so happy you had a wonderful experience and enjoyed your first dance. Cheers to the dance journey ahead and thanks for trusting us with your dancing!
As father of the bride, I had an idea to do a special father daughter dance for my daughter's special day. I had no idea how to do ANY kind of dancing and was hesitant and didn't even know how to begin. After meeting the teachers and staff at Arthur Murray, we were all in. They choreographed a fun dance from start to finish, created a mixed music track for us, and we were on our way. It was a very, very special moment at the wedding, and the great teachers at Arthur Murray are a huge part of making this happen. Thank you all! Here's a link for proof we actually did it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_WmxJp29-4

Thanks Michael! We are glad the dance was a hit and are fortunate with the opportunity to work with you!
Our experience with Arthur Murray was so fun and light hearted. We took 5 lessons in 3 weeks with our final lesson being 3 days before our wedding and it was our saving grace during that stressful time right before the wedding. Not only did we learn a dance to our first song that every one loved watching but we had time away from planning to enjoy ourselves, laugh and have fun!

Thanks Courtney for sharing! It's fun to have a part of the wedding planning process be fun and enjoyable! Thanks for letting us work with you!
My fiance and I took classes in Cambridge with Lance and we couldn't recommend either more highly! We are getting married in a week and a half and both are feeling much more prepared than we would have been otherwise. We loved coming in for group and individual lessons and feel like we have a really solid base for dancing socially, which we really appreciate! Thank you!!!

Thanks Anna! So glad we got to work with you guys and glad you enjoyed it :)
Loved learning our first dance for our wedding at Arthur Murray Cambridge. We chose this location based on convenience. Our teacher Catherine was wonderful. We had a total of 4 dance lessons to make our dream a reality. We learned the dance moves and choreographed with Catherine. Thanks for this great experience!

Thanks Emily for allowing us to teach you and help you feel confident on your big day :)
My fiancé and I started dancing at Arthur Murray in Weymouth a few months before our wedding and the entire Weymouth staff has been great! We have so much fun and feel very welcomed the moment we step into the door. We have an extremely busy schedule and the Weymouth team has been very accommodating whenever we have had to re-schedule lessons. We couldn’t be happier with how our first dance is looking, and can’t wait to show off our new dance moves with confidence at our wedding at the end of September.
Thank you Arthur Murray Weymouth!
To all my fellow brides who are looking for dance lessons for your wedding, look no further. Arthur Murray offers a memorable experience for you and your future husband! The studio atmosphere is young and hip with talented instructors ready to teach you all the moves you need for your big day. Don’t have a song in mind for your first dance, not to worry! All the instructors are ready to help you create your vision. I cannot recommend this studio enough and happy to have a home away from home at Arthur Murray Burlington.

Thanks so much for the great review Johanna and for being amazing students! Best wishes to you both!
Thank you to the Arthur Murray team. Bjorn did a great job of dealing with my husband and I and our lack of coordination. He was very clear when describing how to do things and always had a smile on his face, despite our bickering. We had our first dance and it was perfect, thank you for giving us the confidence to dance in front of our family and friends.
My husband bought me dance lessons for my birthday 6 months before our wedding. He knew that I wanted to learn how to dance for our first dance, and was excited to this could be something we learned how to do together. We originally signed up for 5 lessons at the Burlington location, but extended our package and purchased 5 additional lessons because we were really committed to making our dance intricate and special. Nick at the Burlington location choreographed a beautiful, romantic dance for us. He also gave us a long list of songs to help us choose the right one for us. We would absolutely recommend Nick and the entire Arthur Murray Burlington team to couples looking to make their first dance extra special.

Congratulations on your big day, and elegant first dance. We loved creating a first dance for you that was totally you. Those memories of the dance, and the process will last you a lifetime! You both were a pleasure to work with, and you came ...
so far in such a short time. Best wishes on your marriage and life together, sending love from Arthur Murray Burlington!
Arthur Murray Weymouth Dance Center is fantastic. Extremely hands on and the teachers genuinely care about their students and their interests. They do not try to pressure you into anything. They will follow your desires and wishes and help you achieve them - therefore you set the tone. My husband and I originally started classes at this center for our wedding. We wanted a nice, intimate first dance and Melissa/Matt really exceeded our expectations. They truly went above and beyond to get you to where you need/want to be. Also the group classes are intimidating at first, but you loosen up quickly and all the students were very very nice and welcoming. Highly recommend for future brides/grooms or anyone really.
We went to Arthur Murray in Weymouth and couldn't be happier that we did! We aren't dancers and weren't sure if we wanted to take lessons. At our consult, Arthur Murray made us realize how fun it can be to learn together. We had so much fun in our lessons and our first dance went so well thanks to our amazing instructors!

Caitlin,
Thanks for trusting us to help prepare your first dance and taking time to share your Arthur Murray experience. We wish you both all the best and many more dances to come!
Team Weymouth
My husband and I absolutely loved working with Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Boston in the lead up to our wedding. We primarily worked with Briana and she was wonderful! She made learning to dance so much fun and really broke down the steps in an easy-to-learn way. The other dance instructors at Arthur Murray were great as well, and we danced with a few of them over the course of the spring. The coordination and communication among the entire staff was impeccable. Even the weeks we weren't working with Briana we still felt the same continuity in our dance instruction. It was helpful to get another perspective and set of tips along the way from the different instructors. Overall the studio is beautiful, the hours make it very convenient for folks to take lessons during the week even with two crazy work schedules to deal with. We were able to consistently take lessons at 9pm on Tuesdays, and we found it was the perfect stress-reliever every week especially during the final months of wedding planning. I HIGHLY recommend Arthur Murray to anyone!!
Neither of us were comfortable on the dance floor so we wanted something that would look natural but also more than just swaying back and forth. The lessons were tailored to how we envisioned our first dance and I am so happy that we did the lessons! I also did a lesson with my dad which was super helpful! I love how both dances came out!
When it came to our first dance, we know that we wanted to invest in a special memory that we would remember forever. We had been to a few weddings where we saw the bride and groom just swayed back and forth, and we wanted our big day to be different. We had heard wonderful reviews about the Arthur Murray location in Burlington, MA, and we went to go check it out for ourselves. The staff at the front of the office was very welcoming, and we were invited to meet with a professional dance teacher to discuss our vision.
Where do I begin. Well, they introduced us to Shamus Russell, as I would like to say "Famous Shamus" because he is phenomenal. We brought in a song and a video to show the style of dancing that we found to be attractive, which turned out to be a Venetian waltz. Both my fiance (now husband) and I had never danced this style before, and were hesitant to that we had bit off more than we could chew.
We were wrong. Shamus broke down each step starting from the beginning, and worked our way up to piecing a routine together. He was great at reading our level of confidence, and stepped in with advice when we needed it. He choreographed our whole wedding song from start to finish!! His attention to detail, fun spirit, and never ending eagerness to teach us kept us smiling through our lessons. He made dancing fun for us when we had little experience with it.
When it came to our wedding day, we went from dreading to having to do a first dance to being really excited to show everyone what we had worked on the past few months!
The facility was always tidy and clean when we were there, and the manager would check in on us every now and then. We felt right at home at Arthur Murray's studio in Burlington, with our dance instructor Shamus Russell. I would highly recommend him to anyone!! :)
We went to the Athur Murray Dance Studio in Burlington, MA. We signed up for 8 private sessions with Andrew. We enjoyed our lessons each week. Andrew was easy to talk to, and spent the time getting to know us as a couple. My husband and I looked forward to our lesson each week and treated it as a "date night". Our goal was to have a first dance to remember and Andrew really helped us make that goal come to fruition. Our first dance went wonderfully - it was a moment we'll never forget! I highly recommend Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Burlington if you are considering taking lessons before your big day!
My husband and I started at the Newton studio back in March in preparation for our October wedding. They ended up moving to Dedham over the summer. Boris, the owner of the studio, is a very professional business man and gave us a great experience. He allowed us to customize our dance lesson package on our own time frame. We ended up taking 12 lessons over 9 months, and looking back we would have been better off starting much closer to the wedding or coming to free practice sessions much more frequently to avoid forgetting the steps between our monthly weddings. Our main dance teacher was Elina and she was fantastic. She was hired around the time we had 5 remaining lessons and we learned so much more with her in those lessons than we had for months before! She helped us iron out every detail and made us feel confident and comfortable dancing with each other. At first my fiancé wanted absolutely nothing to do with dance lessons, he showed up sitting in the corner with his hood on, but by the end of our intro lesson, he said LETS DO IT!! By the end, he was trying to perfect every move and hand position and practicing with me in the kitchen. On our wedding day, we NAILED EVERY STEP!!! We were in rhythm with each other, he lead, I followed, our heads and arms when in perfect position, we executed a seamless lift, and our steps were seamless. Our guests commented that our dance was the best they had ever seen!! Even though it was a bit rough during their moving process and in between him hiring new teachers, Boris provided great customer service and compensated us for every inconvenience. I would highly recommend the Dedham studio - a wonderful space with amazing teachers. Worth every penny we spent. Thank you so much !!
I took dance lessons here both with my dad and my husband pre wedding. I cannot say enough good things about this studio and about Rachel DeView at the Park Plaza location. I took 3 lessons with each partner and looked forward to going each week. I am not a great dancer so wanted to have a plan so we wouldn't just sway there for 2 minutes each. Arthur Murray delivered! Our dances were by no means fancy, but we got lots of compliments and I was completely at ease. I highly recommend using Arthur Murray for anyone looking for wedding dance lessons or just dancing lessons in general.
We took dance lessons to learn the waltz for our wedding first dance. Saya was our instructor. She did a great job teaching us basic moves and helping us choreograph pieces for our wedding dance. She was very flexible in helping us achieve what we w wanted to learn. We went to the Natick studio. Olga helped us register and was very flexible in creating a package that best suited our needs and even gave a is a free first lesson to try to it out. Their prices are very reasonable as all. Great experience overall
I had been wanting to learn to ballroom dance for a long time, since my now-husband loves to dance. Our wedding seemed like the perfect opportunity, so we signed up for 5 lessons at Arthur Murray Boston. The lessons are expensive, but the studio puts no pressure on you to sign up for more than you want.
Our teacher, Harrison, was so much fun to work with: he was hilarious, which made us always look forward to our lessons, but also a good teacher with the ability to hone in on what you’re doing wrong and explain clear solutions. Instead of learning a choreographed routine for our first dance, Harrison taught us the building blocks of several different steps: this was so much better, because now instead of only having one specific routine memorized, my husband and I can dance to any number of songs.
Our lessons were so much fun because we not only gained a new skill, but we had some one-on-one time together during our engagement where we just got to be together, without worrying about work or wedding logistics. So if you’ve ever wanted to learn how to ballroom dance, give it a try at Arthur Murray!
We had a wonderful time learning choreography for our First Dance at the Danver's Arthur Murray Dance Studio!! Our instructor, Alex, was very knowledgable, creative, and fun to work with! He worked with us to choreograph over 4 minutes for our wedding song! We also enjoyed taking group classes with the other studio staff, where we learned even more about technique, as well as a variety of dances that we used throughout the night of our wedding! Dancing together was also a fun "date" time for us to regularly set aside, and it gave us some great moves that we've used at other weddings and even during our honeymoon!
My husband and I loved taking dance lessons! They helped make our first dance so special.
My fiancé and I were nervous about our first dance as husband and wife at our wedding reception as we both have 2 left feet. We decided to take dance lessons to ease the anxiety. We didn't know where we'd go so we googled dance lessons, filled out a form and the next day we got a call from the Arthur Murray studio. They invited us in for a consultantion. We didn't know what to expect but we enjoyed ourselves and signed up for 5 private lessons. It was a little pricey but worth it. They helped us pick a song and gavw good guidance throughout he classes. It was a great stress reliever while planning g a wedding. We made each class into a date night! We even practiced our first dance in front of a group in the studio. We had so much fun during our first dance and you could see it with the smiles on our faces. We would definitely recommend Arthur Murray dance studio!
My (now) wife and I went to Arthur Murray 4-5 weeks before our wedding because we realized we needed to get in shape for our first dance and the father/daughter, mother/son dances. We had taken some dance lessons in college but were far from being experts. In fact, I feel that my wife moves extremely well, but I am extremely clumsy. After a few quick emails with the studio we came in and started dancing with Scott, the instructor we were lucky enough to be paired with.
A quick note: we were incredibly lucky to be paired with Scott. We didn't know who (or what) we would get when we came in but Scott was kind, funny, and an excellent dancer. He was ready to work with us and at every turn helped me and my wife have fun and, most importantly, get ready to kill it on the dance floor. If you are lucky enough to be paired with Scott seize the opportunity (or just see if he has an opening!)
The end result, after taking 8 lessons in 4-5 weeks, was that we had (if I do say so myself) an impressive first dance. The only "insider trick" to know here is to get a practice first dance (through a group class or one of Arthur Murray's dance parties). Basically, the instructors will work with you to set up a time for you to do a run through (shortened, two minutes) of your first dance with people around. It will be very nerve-wracking, but when the time comes for the big day you will have done a dry-run and be much more comfortable.
At the end of the day, we would have felt comfortable with any of the Arthur Murray instructors. Over the course of our sessions we worked with Andrew and others, but I would be extremely remiss if I did not reiterate just how amazing Scott was to work with. So, if you are lucky enough to be paired with him or he has any openings SEIZE THE OPPORTUNITY.
After our wedding, we're planning to continue our dancing lessons. We had a ton of fun and in the deepest moments of wedding stress used the dance floor to lighten the mood. We just cannot recommend Arthur Murray enough.
My now husband and I had a great idea for our first dance at our wedding and knew that we needed some help putting the moves together. I searched online for dance studios in the Boston area that help put wedding dances together and found Arthur Murray online with great reviews, so we decided to make an appointment and go check it out. The experience well surpassed our expectations! They were all very professional, patient and helped us put together a show-stopping first dance! I highly recommend Arthur Murray for anyone that is looking to have a unique first dance at their wedding!
I've been married for 5 months now, and we would like to return to take some additional classes-just finding the time is the only challenge now:)
Joy was our instructor and she was fantastic! We started with a certificate for 2 free individual lessons and she sold us a package with more. Our first day she listened to our wedding song and decided what type of dance would go best with it. By our last visit we were ready for our wedding dance including our dip finale! We did really great at the wedding! My only negative is that there were many visits she was trying to sell us more dance lessons when we really just wanted to do an amazing wedding dance.
My husband Bill and I had a fabulous time working with Harrison at the Boston Park Plaza Arthur Murray location to learn a fox trot for our wedding first dance "Nine Milllion Bicycles". Harrison is a very talented dance instructor and his engaging personality, humor and patience helped motivate us to learn the dance and be confident on our big day. We really enjoyed the lessons we took the 2 months before our wedding and would highly recommend Arthur Murray. Many thanks again to Harrison!
My husband and I took dance lessons at Arthur Murray with the goal of not being embarrassed during our first dance, because we were both so bad. And we ended up with so much more than that! They worked so well with us, and now we can fox trot with the best of them! Our first dance was amazing, I felt confident, and everyone commented on how great it was. We had so much fun that we signed up for more lessons after the wedding!
We used the AMDS in Worcester. Our dance teacher, Ben, was amazing and worked with us for 3 lessons (we came for dance lessons about a month before our wedding, eek!). He was so patient and kind; we truly appreciated his willingness to teach us how to look like we had a basic knowledge of dance in only 3 lessons. We had such a fun time learning, too! Pretty affordable for the first three lessons, also. We'd highly recommend this dance studio!
We learned the Foxtrot. This was our first time dancing together like this and our teacher gave us alot of instruction with a lot of patients. Even though we were only able to dance for a short bit due to my dress being in the way it was worth it.
I used a Groupon for two private lessons and one group class. The instructor we had was really nice, and we enjoyed working with him. The classes were expensive without the groupon, so we didn't opt to take more.
My husband and I are not very good at dancing so I decided to buy us some lessons to prepare for our first dance at our wedding. Boy did the lessons pay off! We took 1 to 2 lessons a week for about a month (combination of private, group, and practice sessions). Our instructor at Arthur Murray choreographed a beautiful dance that we were able to learn in the little amount of time we had. All of our guests were so impressed that we took lessons and had a real first dance. The instructors at Arthur Murray are great and we highly recommend them!
My husband and I took about 10 "private" lessons and 10 group lessons in the 4 months leading up to our wedding, and had a much better time with it than we expected. We really wanted to learn just basic rhythm on the dance floor, and also to have a stellar first dance. Harrison and Christian were our instructors, and they were both awesome! We had a lot of fun with them, and they taught us a lot of different dances to keep us moving to all types of music and a "foxy" dance routine for our first dance. Thanks to them, my husband's skills improved dramatically, and I thought he was going to complain about going, but he had actually enjoyed it! Only thing I'd warn about Arthur Murray though is that it is a bit chaotic on the dance floor (the "private" lessons are hardly private because multiple other people are also having "private" lessons in the same room) and the lessons are really short by the time you start getting into the steps. There are also a lot of pressuring sales pitches to keep signing up for more packages. I would definitely go back to Harrison or Christian just for fun though and would love to master some of the dances that we enjoyed learning with them.
We signed up for Arthur Murray for our first dance and ended up joining for the year. The staff is so friendly and now we have a hobby that we can do together.
Fantastic lessons in Natick, Massachusetts. Very courteous, prompt, and receptive staff. Coordinated around our crazy schedule which we really appreciated. Maximized every moment of teaching.
We took 5 lessons at Arthur Murray to learn a swing dance. Everyone was very friendly and the first 2 lessons we learned different moves. The last 3 lessons (over $100 each) were just perfecting our moves, nothing new. We were hoping to have something really fun and different, but ended up going to a Swing Club to incorporate some fun moves. For a 40 minute lesson and over $100 an hour we expected to have something more exciting and less perfected since our friends know we aren't professionals anyway.
We took lessons for 10 weeks prior to the wedding - we could only go 1 day a week - and the end result made a great impression on our guests! Melissa in Natick was our instructor and she was wonderful. She got me comfortable (I'm really nervous dancing!) and she was able to work with us when we got frustrated in learning certain steps. They're awesome as a studio too - initially your instructor will ask some questions and then guide you through what you need to do to achieve the results you're looking for. We were SO happy with our comfort level in the first dance together as husband and wife! :)
I went to the Burlington, MA location and Shamus was our instructor. He was very patient, fun, and encouraging. We had 4 lessons and felt prepared for our first dance because of his help.
My fiance and I took lessons with Arthur Murray in downtown Boston. We bought a deal online that gave us four private lessons and some group lessons. At the end of our four lessons, we had learned about 12 different dance steps, none of which we actually learned well enough that we could apply them to our first dance. Not to mention, every time we had a lesson there were many other couples having lessons in the same small space so it was very cramped and everyone would run into each other. When our lessons were up, they awkwardly showed us a binder with a couple different wedding packages that would help us prep for our first dance (which is what we had requested they help us with from the beginning). The prices were outrageous and they said we needed to "act now" to get a 10% discount (very car salesman-esque). Not a very positive experience. Luckily, we found another dance studio who we worked with in Newton and our first dance (after only four dance lessons) ended up being a huge hit!

We are SO sorry that you had an unfavorable experience at our Boston studio. Most of our wedding students rave about their Arthur Murray experience. That is always our goal and what has kept our Boston studio in business for 34 years. We sin...
cerely apologize for your experience and wish you well in your new life as a married couple!
Shamus at Arthur Murray helped my husband and I learn how to fox trot in only 3 lessons. We can't thank him enough! Being able to stand up on our big day and do more than sway to the music was our only goal, and we got so much more out of these lessons. The studio is very affordable and Shamus was so much fun to work with.
I have been dancing for several years, but my fiance had no experience. The instructor at Arthur Murray was very patient and understanding. She gave us enough basic steps for a mini-routine that we put to our first dance song. We had six lessons in total and they were enjoyable.
My husband was reluctant to try dancing, but I was amazed to find he actually enjoyed it after our first lesson. I attribute that to our wonderful dance instructor, Ben Champagne from the Worcester studio. He was comical, witty and great to work with. We chose "Can't take my eyes off of you" for our song, but did not want to choreograph anything - just learn basic steps so we could do whatever we felt comfortable with. After we learned several impressive looking twirls, dips and other moves, we were both impressed that we had progressed so far in only a couple of lessons. We received lots of compliments on our first dance and we had fun practicing!
We went to the studio in Natick, MA. They were the BEST! I started off with two left feet, and after 6 months we blew our wedding guests away. It's so nice to feel confident on the dance floor now! If you go to the Natick studio, request to work with Olga or Stan - we absolutely love them.
We loved our dance lessons with Arthur Murray Dance in Boston. Melissa was our teacher and she was the best! We loved working with her. I had orginially purchased a Groupon and only planned to stay for the 3 lessons, but we ended up doing a full package and are going to stay and be in the Bronze level 1 program because we loved it so much. I highly recommend getting dance lessons for your first dance. It is a great way to spend stress free and fun time with your future hubby and who knows, you just might find that it turns into a new hobby for you to do together. Best value for the money, amazing instructors who know their stuff, great learning structure too. They have been doing this for years and have teaching down to a science and an art. We can't wait to go back! Thank you Melissa for making us look like rockstars on the dance floor!
My then-fiance and I took many lessons at Arthur Murray; we worked with Jeff,Loren and Meredith. Not only did they help us to perfect our first dance, but they also taught us many other dances to use throughout the night. We had a great time with them; they were professional but also a lot of fun!
Our instructor, Alissa, was wonderful! We had a great time learning how to dance to our first song with her. Not only was it fun, but so affordable! Two private lessons for a total of $25. Can't beat it!
Very friendly instructors, kept it FUN!!
We (I) wanted to do something dramatic for the first dance so we chose the tango. We worked on this for about 8 months before the wedding, and were able to do it for the big day. It is a huge commitment, both time wise and financially, so be prepared. However, we did it, and I am happy we did. We had a wonderful instructor - Chadlyr, and the rest of the group at AMDS was fantastic. We even had some of the instructors at our wedding to give salsa lessons as a surprise for our guests. The lesson structure is fun, and easy to follow. Group lessons are available as is an open studio for practicing on your own.
They will work to match you up with an instructor who can work best with your needs, and they have lessons until pretty late in the evening during the week and all day on Saturdays.
